Five Reasons Why Sarah Palin Will Be The Next President
2) Mitt Romney is a flawed candidate. Many agree that on paper, Mitt Romney is the "front-runner" for the nomination in 2012. He has business/leadership experience, and believes strongly that capitalism works. Those are both great qualities when running against a pro-government, anti-business President. However, he will have to explain why he passed a statewide healthcare program as Governor of Massachusetts, that has left the state near bankruptcy, and officials scrambling to find additional funds to keep it running. With so many Americans hoping President Obama doesn't pass his universal healthcare plan, why would they vote for a candidate who actually did pass it in his homestate? Now, it is true that the Democratic controlled legislature in Massachusetts changed much of the legislation Romney had proposed, however, he did end up signing it into law, and he will have a difficult time explaining that decision to Republican voters, paving the way for Sarah Palin to point out its inefficiency and waste.
3) She is prepared for the attacks. Lets face it, President Obama had a pretty easy road to the White House, with the mainstream media fawning all over him (think Chris Matthews and his tingle). However, Obama has shown over the past seven months an inability to deal with challenging questions from the media. During one of his many press conferences, for example, when a reporter from CNN (yes, I was shocked too) questioned the growing deficit, Obama became visibly agitated and quickly silenced the reporter by calling on another. Slight, but telling. The second time around, Obama will be running on a record, and the media will be forced to challenge him on it. They will no doubt do so lightly, but it will be interesting to see how the "cool, calm and collected" candidate that was Barack Obama in the 2008 campaign will handle a tougher challenge in the 2012 campaign. It is pretty easy to become President when you have no record to be challenged on, and the media gives you a free pass. Sarah Palin on the other hand is more than prepared to deal with the media attacks. In fact, she will downright expect them. Sarah has proven she's not only willing to take on her attackers with her head held high, but she can throw a punch with a wink and a smile. No candidate could be more prepared for a Presidential run in terms of dealing with the mainstream media then Sarah Palin.
4) She is selfless. The liberals will argue that Sarah Palin is a quitter since she resigned her position as governor with 18 months to go in her term. They'll say, "if she gave up on Alaska, she'll give up on you" That may resonate with some voters. But, the real truth is that her decision to resign the governorship was not a selfish act of self-promotion, but a SELFLESS act of putting her state first. With Sarah making the decision that she would like to be a true force in the Republican party, and would like to hit the road campaigning for other candidates, it was selfless of her to resign, knowing it would be unfair for tax payers to continue to pay her salary with her away from the state so often. As a tax payer in Obama's home state of Illinois, I can tell you it's pretty frustrating to know that my hard earned tax dollars went to paying his salary, while he traveled the country promoting himself, rather than doing what he was elected to do: fight for the citizens of his state.
5) She has a record of achievement and reform. Enough said. If Barack Obama can be elected with perhaps the thinest of Presidential resumes, Sarah Palin can be elected President because she has a record of actually accomplishing things. Even after resigning, she had a 54% approval rating among Alaskan voters because they know she got the job done. That's better than Barack Obama's approval rating right now! Like she said in her convention speech, "being a small-town mayor is sort of like being a community organizer, except you have actual responsibilities"
These are just five reasons. Feel free to add more, because I know these are just the tip of the iceberg.
S.A.R.A.H: Such a Real American Hero-A Post by Conservative Girl with a Voice
Two words: Sarah Palin. Whenever her name is pronounced, people have one of two reactions- they either love her or hate her. A year ago, I did not even know who Sarah Palin was, but I am so glad that I, as well as the rest of America, has gotten to get to know this truly tremendous woman and her generous, kind-hearted family. I may have not been familiar with Sarah Palin, but my dad was very familiar with her long before she was picked as McCain's running mate. I first heard of Sarah, not by her name, but as my dad referred to her as that "cool governor of Alaska." You see, my dad had been listening to the news one day when a commentator was talking about this governor from AK who was a true reformer and fiscal conservative. My dad drew an immediately liking to her when he heard about how she had virtually reformed and cleaned-up the corruption in the state of AK. I remember dad telling me about all the amazing things she had done as governor and that he sincerely hoped she would be considered as a possible running mate for McCain. As he told me about her, I immediately began to like her and all she stood for, but I thought "Come on, we're talking about the governor of Alaska." Now, don't get me wrong, but prior to learning about how wonderful the state of AK and its people are, I was only going on what I had seen on TV and in the movies. You know those movies about distant lands, lots of snow and Eskimos? Well, let's just say that's what I thought AK was all about, not that there's anything wrong with that. Like so many of you out there, these stereotypes were instilled into my brain to the point in which it was hard to see AK as anything other than a desolate land. Let's just say that I am SOOOO glad I was wrong about AK and its awesome people. Not only is AK one of the most beautiful, resource-rich states in America, but the people who I have gotten to know from AK are the most generous, friendly people I have ever met; the saying "real people" certainly applies. It's too bad more people cannot realize what I have come to realize.
The people of AK have a lot to thank Sarah for. She not only forever changed the once-held perceptions people in the lower 48 held regarding AK and its people, but she has opened the door for conservative women like me everywhere who finally have found a voice to represent us in politics. A year ago, I was getting ready to apply for teaching positions at local community colleges to teach journalism and English, I never thought I'd be in the position I am today. I never thought I'd be blogging, getting politically active, and speaking at Tea Parties and if not for Sarah, I guarantee I wouldn't be writing and thinking about having a career in politics. Sarah has inspired me so much, and I'm sure she has inspired you as well. This blog has opened so many doors, and I couldn't be more thrilled to see what God has in store for me as I continue down this journey called life. I have gotten to know so many amazing people who have inspired me to fight the good fight and continue to press on no matter who tries to bring me down. People like #1 AK Talk Radio Host Eddie Burke, who has been nice enough to have me as a regular guest on his radio show. (Please listen to his show on www.kbyr.com Monday-Friday from 3-6 PSD.) Eddie is a great example of a person who is repeatedly attacked, but continues the good fight for a cause greater than self; he truly loves his country. Another inspiring AK individual who I have gotten the chance to know is Jessica Steele, Sarah's hairdresser who owns the Beehive Beauty Shop in Wasilla, AK. As I blogged about recently, a reporter for the New York Slimes (Times) recently wrote a story using quotes they said came from Jessica about Sarah's hair thinning from stress, and so on. Only problem is, Jessica NEVER said anything of the sort and NEVER would. This is the media of today. A Media that see Sarah as a threat, which as I have discussed before is the reason they are trying, yet to no avail, to bring down. These are just a couple of great AKn people whom I have gotten to know over the last few months. These are good people who, like Sarah, are being unfairly attacked by the liberal left. When they are attacked, they press forward, which is what I am going to do. Like them, I know that anytime I am attacked, my common sense message is getting out there. When Jesus was spit on, he pressed on just as Sarah continues to press on when slanderous statements are reported about her and her family. People like Sarah, Eddie and Jessica are great Americans who are fighting the good fight in the name of freedom and liberty. It is our First Amendment right to speak out, and until this right is taken away, I will continue to speak out and voice my opinion. Like the great Ronald Reagan, Sarah Palin is a great communicator who is also not afraid to speak out, which is so refressing. I did not agree with everything John McCain did in his run for the presidency, but the best thing he did was selecting Sarah to be his running mate, and I will forever be greatful. If it wasn't for his picking Sarah, America may have not gotten to know and come to love this woman. Sarah is a true jewel whom in true Ronald Reagan fashion has and will continue to do great things. Last year, as I reflected on the year that had been and the year that was to come, I never would have thought that, in the year to come, our country would be heading down the dangerous path toward socialism. I wonder what next year will look like? We NEED more Americans who are willing to fight the good fight for smaller, more efficient government. The more people who rise up and voice their concerns, the better chance we have to truly make a difference for our children and ourselves. I recommend you all read Glenn Beck's "Common Sense." It will open your eyes to what America once was and unfortunately what it is becoming. We, the people, are strongest when we come together.
So on my next birthday, it is my hope that when I reflect back on the year that was, I can look with pride at a nation who came together as one like we did following the tragic events of 9/11. Anything is possible, so, readers, keep up the good fight in the name of freedom and liberty!!!

Governor Palin Honored At NRA Event
ANCHORAGE, AK- Governor Palin is back, almost a week since she stepped out of the spotlight.
Governor Palin gave a speech on 2nd Amendment rights at a banquet in Anchorage.
The Saturday night event capped a 4-day National Rifle Association seminar hosted by the Alaska Gun Collectors Association.
NRA director Wayne Anthony Ross, president of the gun collectors' group, says Palin attended the dinner with her husband, Todd. Ross says about 130 people attended the event.
Gun collectors groups from outside the state presented Palin with lifetime memberships. She also received the NRA's Gold Medal Award of Merit for the Promotion of Gun Collecting.
An avid defender of our 2nd Amendment rights, Sarah Palin spoke about Big Government intrusion and the importance of being vigilant in protecting our right to bear arms.
A star-studded banquet concluded the events of the NRA's XVIII Gun Collectors Seminar in Anchorage, Alaska on Saturday night, August 1, 2009.
Luminaries such as NRA President Ronald Schmeits (pictured above with Sarah Palin) and Executive Vice President Wayne LaPierre attended the four-day seminar in downtown Anchorage. The seminar was hosted by Gun Collectors Committee Chairman Wayne Anthony Ross and the members of the Alaska Gun Collectors Association.
Seminar activities included sessions on World War II in Alaska as well as the life of the common soldier of the American revolution and culminated Saturday evening with a visit from former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin who gave a stirring speech on 2nd Amendment rights. Following the speech she was presented with Life Memberships in The Missouri Valley Arms Collectors Association, Ohio Gun Collectors Association and the Dallas Arms Collectors Association. The members of the Missouri Valley Arms Collectors Association also presented Gov. Palin with an NRA Benefactor Life Membership as well. NOTE TO SARAH PALIN: IT WAS SOROS, DEMOCRATS, WASILLA AND MCCAIN
I think it is important for the writing to be read; therefore, I am posting it here. My thanks to the Web Bridgade for making that possible.
_____________________________________
NOTE TO SARAH PALIN: IT WAS SOROS, DEMOCRATS, WASILLA AND MCCAIN
From the time of her announcement as the Vice Presidential selection by Senator John McCain, Governor Sarah Palin has been the target of a nearly solid wall of attacks from the Democrats. It was obvious to them from the very beginning that with her popularity rating in her home state of Alaska, her knowledge of the issues, added to the fact she is an attractive, young woman with a family must have terrified them. Could it be that she could actually lead the Republicans to the White House in 2009?
Speaking from a Conservative viewpoint, I think it goes without saying that Senator John McCain, while a real American hero and patriot, was not the strongest candidate the Republican Party could have nominated. Many of his political views present a more moderate slant than many voters would have preferred. It is when he is compared to the Democratic Party candidate of 2008 that his Conservatism becomes more noticeable.
The one thing that most Conservatives will agree with candidate McCain was his Vice Presidential selection. Here was the epitome of Conservatism at its best. A strict Constitutionalist and Federalist, Governor Sarah Palin embodies everything we hold most closely to our hearts where our Founding Fathers and the documents of Democracy they left for us are concerned. In Sarah Palin, the Conservatives of America found the whole package – beauty and intelligence bundled inside a knowledgeable politician firmly grounded in the Constitution of the United States. This is exactly the reason the Democrats feared her then as well as now.
The Obama campaign immediately began looking for anything they could find to use against her. They weren’t alone in their search. The George Soros funded groups with ties to MoveOn.org used their networking to offer as much as $5000 for damaging employment or personal information about Mrs. Palin’s husband, Alaska’s “First Dude”, Todd Palin.
It was impossible for them to find the bombshell of embarrassment they sought. They resorted to exploiting incidents that would appear questionable to the public at large. With the careful use of embellishment and untruths, they crafted a carefully choreographed strategy to destroy the humanity of the woman Sarah Palin is; dedicated to her God, strongly family oriented, self-confident and emotionally and mentally grounded in the ideals of Democracy.
According to an Obama media adviser, the DNC was asked to “coordinate surrogates” to replace the Democrat women which had been used in advertising to this point. According to Spectator.org, "Last Friday, the Democrat women they put all looked old and tired, nothing like what folks were seeing from Palin," says an Obama media adviser. "It was like, 'we don't have any good-looking younger representatives to put up?'"
A headline in the September 9, 2008, issue of The Chicago Tribune would seem to confirm that the Democratic Party listened to the Obama media adviser.
Also contributing to the barrage of attacks was The Wasilla Project, a series of four videos by “independent filmmakers” comprised of interviews with several Alaska citizens, not all of whom are from Wasilla, but who all had reason to oppose Governor Sarah Palin’s Republican nomination. In some cases it may have been a job loss or the fact that Governor Palin terminated a contract with ConocoPhillips and one of their partners, Pioneer Natural Resources, a company doing business on the North Slope of Alaska for which one of the interviewed citizens works.
Others had different reasons, but the opposition was extremely limited which is perhaps the reason the Wasilla Project interviewed only ten Alaskans (Andree McLeod, Zane Henning, Victoria Naegele, Dianne Woodruff, Howard Bess, Eric Croft, Tara Henry, Dr. Colleen Murphy and Geran Tarr) using some of them multiple times in separate video clips.
A simple web search for The Wasilla Project returns the following credits:

Several of the people involved with The Wasilla Project are employed by eMotion Studios; some are not. Among those not employed by eMotion Studios are Erik Johnson, a Senior Director in Product Research for Epicor Software, who had worked with this same group of people from eMotion Studios prior to The Wasilla Project; Eric Ladenburg, an Instructor for Bay Area Video Coalition; Michael Becker, a composer; Carla Hardaway, an actress whose voice is used in many videos; Rachel Gaunt, an expert in Life and Executive Coaching.
The eMotion Studios web site states their “… purpose is to help our clients develop a human connection with their audiences. Pretty simple. Very potent. The most direct path to people’s mind’s and hearts is through stories, imagery and technology that surprises and engages them.” This is the reason they allegedly were chosen by the Democratic National Committee and George Soros funded enterprises, for this smear campaign against Governor Sarah Palin.
In an interview with the Anchorage Daily News on October 8, 2008, Paul Lundahl expressed to Kyle Hopkins, writer for the Alaska Politics section, his political stance for creating the first four-minute video in the series of four by saying, "If we didn't do this and McCain's elected on Nov. 4 and we felt like ... people didn't know who Sarah Palin was, it would feel really bad."
The article points out that a fund-raiser was held in the home of an unnamed female friend of the project most likely during the period from September 26-28, 2008. Speculation as to who this “friend” is includes Andree McLeod, Val Henning, Shannyn Moore, Linda Kellen Biegel, Jeanne Devon, Dianne Woodruff, and others.
There is also the possibility that in an attempted ruse, this dinner wasn’t actually hosted by a “she”, but rather a “he”; specifically, Phil Munger. In my research, I came across this quote in a Huffington Post article of April 22, 2009, written by Shannyn Moore:
Right after the nomination of Sarah Palin for VP, Wasilla blogger, musician, professor, and all around renaissance man, Phil Munger, threw a party at his home-the first of many. Secrecies were sworn; we were not alone in front of our computers-we had each other; Mudflats, Immoral Minority, Writing Raven, Celtic Diva, Progressive Alaska, Alaska Report, What Do I Know, and myself, Just a Girl From Homer. Documentary crews interviewed us and protected anonymous identities at the time.
It would be easier to win the battle against Governor Palin in the court of public opinion if the Democrats could use the Republican Party against her. This, they set out to do. There are times that one simply has to do what one has to do. At some point there is a time of pay-back. The Democrats, with the assistance of their friend and financial supporter, George Soros, found it time to collect on some of those debts the Republican owed them.
When doing research for any form of writing, locating some pieces to the puzzle is an easy task. Others require the researcher/writer to accept the information found regardless of how much the opposite would be preferred.
The McCain campaign didn’t offer much in the way of support for reported leaks which began very shortly after Governor Palin joined the ticket. When the source of leaks from inside the McCain camp was finally revealed regarding the purchase of clothing for Sarah Palin, the Vice Presidential candidate, and her family, and charging that Palin suffered from post-partum depression among other leaks to the media, a war of words ensued between William Kristol, editor of The Weekly Standard and Steve Schmidt, campaign manager for McCain.
Even these leaks were not enough to break the momentum the newly energized Republican campaign felt at the inclusion of Governor Palin. Political polling numbers began to rise, larger crowds began showing up at political rallies, funding increased and support grew consistently.
George Soros had a single goal, according to an interview The Washington Post published on November 11, 2003. In this interview, Soros said that removing President George W. Bush from office was the "central focus of my life" and "a matter of life and death." He said he would sacrifice his entire fortune to defeat President Bush, "if someone guaranteed it."
From his vast resources, Soros donated $3 million to the Center for American Progress, $5 million to MoveOn and $10 million to America Coming Together. These are all organizations known to be funded directly by George Soros and his Open Society Institute. On September 28, 2004, he dedicated more money to his campaign to defeat the Republican incumbent and began his own multi-state tour starting with the National Press Club in Washington, DC, with a speech titled “Why We Must Not Re-elect President Bush.”
During his unsuccessful campaign for the Republican nomination for President in 2000, Senator John McCain sports many moneyed organizers. One of these organizers was George Soros. It does not require a stretch of the imagination to wonder if this move in the 2000 Republican race was intended by Soros as part of his major push to defeat George Bush in 2004.
Of course the possibility exists that not only was the effort to continue his political vendetta against George Bush, George Soros was building up political capital to spend at a later date as he supported the McCain-Feingold Bipartisan Campaign Reform Act of 2002, which was intended to end "soft money" contributions to federal election campaigns.
There is also the connection between these two, John McCain and George Soros, through John McCain’s Reform Institute (RI). They both benefit from the assistance of Rick Davis, shown to be a consultant to John McCain’s RI, and the connection between McCain and the funding. This list of funding for the Reform Institute includes The Tides Foundation and OSI, Soros’ Open Society Institute.
Could this single connection be reason for Conservative Palin supporters to ask the McCain campaign: Why was McCain's staff receiving paychecks from George Soros while at the same time Soros' groups were savaging his running mate? Furthermore, why was there an apparent lack of defense strategy during the campaign? Why the lack of support for Governor Palin after the election? Finally, why did the McCain staff leak lies and rumors about the Governor?"
No Truth to Latest Rumors
Yet again, some so-called journalists have decided to make up a story. There is no truth to the recent “story” (and story is the correct term for this type of fiction) that the Palins are divorcing. The Palins remain married, committed to each other and their family, and have not purchased land in Montana (last week it was reported to be Long Island) (Stapleton, 2009, ¶1).
Less than one week ago, Governor Palin asked the media to “quit making things up.” We appreciate that the more professional journalists decided to question this story before repeating it (Stapleton, 2009, ¶1).

Commentary
Maybe Governor Palin should have used reverse psychology in her farewell address and told the mainstream media to lie and make up stories about her. This way, they would tell the truth. All sarcasm aside, you will be hard-pressed to find a better role model couple than Todd and Sarah Palin. The couple -- indeed the entire family -- works as a team.

Palin Vs. Obama
- Palin helps run a family-owned fishing business. Obama was a community organizer.
- She has gone against ethics violators in her own party. He relishes in the support of ACORN.
- She ran a city for two terms and a state as governor for two years. As a state senator and rookie US senator, all he's run is his mouth.
- She is a chooser of life and demonstrates as much in her own family. He threatens to destroy life because he doesn't want his daughters to be" … punished with a baby." Nor does he want a late-term abortion doctor to be embarrassed and mother tormented because said doc botched an abortion and the baby — soon to be murdered — accidentally lived.
- He backs a health system that doesn't cloak the euthanasia and suffering it'll cause senior citizens, while using taxpayer money to pay for aforementioned abortions. She favors reforms in the system thatcontinues the tradition of the best health care of any country in the world.

Randy Evans: Palin's Trust Fund Does Not Violate "Any Law - Alaska, IRS, or Federal"
Randy Evans also wrote an op-ed about Sarah Palin on The Political Vine during the 2008 election. In it he discussed the obstacles women have faced in politics and the criticisms that have been (and continue to be) leveled at Sarah Palin. A memorable quote from his article is this: "Barriers are built over time and they do not fall easily. Sometimes, it takes a political earthquake. Hurricane Hillary meet Earthquake Palin - it is a new day in American politics." A new day indeed!
A blogger at the Atlanta Journal and Constitution reported that at breakfast at the state GOP convention in Savannah yesterday morning, the GOP chairman announced that Attorney Evans would no longer serve as legal counsel for the Georgia GOP Party. As Jim Galloway reports, "Evans was leaving her for Sarah Palin, she said." According to Galloway, Evans acknowledged that he is "now doing legal work for Palin" but declined to state in what capacity.
This led to a lot of speculation in the blogosphere about the role that Attorney Evans will play. However, Sean Cockerham at the Alaska Daily News, which habitually publishes slanted headlines and articles critical of Sarah Palin, reported that he had questioned Meg Stapleton, who said that Attorney Evans was one of several attorneys consulted to make certain that the Alaska Trust Fund met legal standards but that he was not working for Sarah Palin.
Celtic Diva, who runs the Blue Oasis blog and is a bitter opponent of Sarah Palin, is up in the air about Attorney Evans's involvement. She blogged, "Sarah Palin has hired the biggest gun YET" and called Evans “the equivalent of a legal bazooka.” It appears the anklebiters are afraid their little game is just about to be over.
Whatever his role will be, Governor Palin couldn't have asked for a more qualified attorney to be involved. Attorney Evans has a formidable resume and is a prolific writer and frequent speaker on ethics in government and politics. Evans has been recognized as one of the “Best Lawyers in America.” If he does indeed serve as legal counsel for Sarah Palin, as he has for many other political figures, including Newt Gingrich and Dennis Hastert, her cause, and ultimately, that of the country she loves, will be well-served.
The Palin trust fund: the rest of the story
Fayette County News
2009-07-30
By Randy Evans
Having created The Alaska Fund Trust, I can tell you that the suggestions of illegality referenced in various Associated Press stories (which were then repeated on various cable news stories) are absolutely untrue. The truth of the matter is that the trust, which was created to help pay and defray the legal expenses associated with endless frivolous attacks against former Gov. Sarah Palin, was specifically patterned after a number of well recognized legal expense fund trusts of prior Presidential candidates as well as other high profile public servants - both Democratic and Republican. As with the other trusts (which were subject to intense media scrutiny as well as scrutiny by well-financed political opponents and experienced lawyers of both parties), there is and was no impropriety in the creation or operation of the trust and any suggestion to the contrary is candidly absurd.
So, as Paul Harvey would have put it - here is the rest of the story.
The Alaska Fund Trust, was drafted and created to mirror the language used by the John Kerry Trust fund (named the "Fund for Truth and Honor"). This was by design (although the name "The Alaska Fund Trust" was not as clever). The idea was that if it was good enough for the leading Democratic candidate for President of the United States, then it should be good enough for the Republican Vice Presidential candidate.
Here is what the media does not report. The John Kerry Trust Fund was drafted and created by a very well respected international law firm named Perkins Coie, a huge presence in Washington, D.C. Indeed, Perkins Coie is the lead counsel for the Democratic National Committee, President Obama, and many other national Democratic leaders. Its website touts its reach and expertise in political law matters on behalf of a virtual who's who of Democratic politics.
Given its expertise, when an outside firm was selected to spearhead the investigation of The Alaska Fund Trust, it was not surprising that Perkins Coie's Alaska office would be selected. Aside from the political implications of having President Obama's and the Democratic National Committee's law firm review a trust aimed at helping with the legal expenses associated with defending the Republican Vice Presidential nominee, the Perkins Coie firm seemed like a reasonable choice. (Of course, this is like saying, other than that Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?)
Then came the surprise. On July 14, 2009, eleven (11) days after Palin announced that she would resign, the Alaska Perkins Coie attorney submitted his conclusions about the Alaska Fund Trust. In a "CONFIDENTIAL" report (that was promptly leaked to the media in violation of Alaska law), the Alaska Perkins Coie attorney found that the trust fund document (which it had drafted for John Kerry) was in fact ILLEGAL.
Make no mistake, the Alaska Fund Trust is the exact same structure and fund created for and used by President Bill Clinton, Secretary of State and former Presidential candidate (then Senator) Hillary Clinton, former Presidential candidate (then House Minority Leader) Richard Gephardt (also represented by Perkins Coie), Senator Ted Stephens, and many, many others - from both political parties. (At the time of its creation, the Alaska Fund Trust posted all of these trust fund documents on the Alaska Fund Trust website for easy comparison and validation.)
So how could President Obama's law firm conclude that the trust fund it drafted was illegal? Well, the gist of the "CONFIDENTIAL REPORT" is that any payment of legal fees incurred defending against frivolous complaints necessarily involved an illegal personal benefit. Of course, no explanation is given why such funds were not illegal for John Kerry, Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton, Richard Gephardt, Ted Stephens (from Alaska), and so on.
Significantly, NO ONE with any experience in legal expense trust funds (including the Perkins Coie attorneys experienced in this area) has ever contended (or even suggested) that the trust fund as set up (following the Perkins Coie model for legal expense fund trusts - indeed the gold standard for legal expense trust funds) violates any law - Alaska, IRS, or federal.
The fact is that, as evidenced by the detailed legal memorandum released by the trust, the numerous trust agreements (including those prepared by Perkins Coie itself), the legal writings on the subject, and the positions of every governmental agency to consider such trusts, the Alaska Fund Trust is not only legal, but it is the most restrictive and transparent trust of any well-known public servant in history.
In the end, the only illegality in the matters surrounding the Alaska Fund Trust is the illegal leak of the 'CONFIDENTIAL REPORT" in direct violation of Alaska law, not anything to do with the trust itself.
But then, no one reports on that. Welcome to the world of Sarah Palin.
