Public School Retracts Governor Palin Book Banning Lie, in Baby-Step Sort of Way

By Adrienne Ross - www.motivationtruth.com

Last Friday, I posted "Update to Public School Library Propagates Falsehood that Governor Palin Banned Books." I went step by step and day by day through my battle to correct the record and emphatically declare that Sarah Palin never, ever banned any books. At that point, I was turning it over to the public who had voiced a desire to step in and hold the school accountable. No longer was I going to stand between anyone and their efforts to see this wrong corrected, which I had done while I attempted to right this wrong.

I am not sure who, if anyone, actually contacted the school to voice their concerns. However, I do know that after fighting this battle since late September and receiving no responses at all last week, I received an email Monday afternoon from the high school principal asking me to call his assistant to set up yet another meeting.

We met yesterday, and I was asked again what I was seeking. I expressed that I had not changed my mind; I wanted the retraction. I was told that the library display window is seasonal, and something else is already occupying the space. I was also told that if Governor Palin were a current candidate, they would seek to correct the wrong. Since she's not, basically it's no big deal. I don't know about you, but common sense tells me that most of us will never be candidates for anything. Does that mean people can lie about us without repercussions, simply because our names are not on a ballot? That makes no sense, and I expressed as much.

Finally, without a word, the principal went to his computer, began typing, and printed out a piece of paper with the retraction. He was going to run it by the superintendent, and if approved, it would be posted.

Today it was posted.

Perhaps I should feel a sense of victory, but I feel a gnawing annoyance. Why is that?

First, only the superintendent seemed to get the fact that displaying the original poster was the wrong move and that it should have come down the first time I asked. It was indeed a lie designed to express a political agenda at the expense of the truth that we should be providing our students. Even yesterday, when he asked to see the truthful articles that I had with me, the principal tried to defend the original display's content.

Some kind of acknowledgement that this kind of thing was ill-willed, unacceptable, and would never happen again was in order--if for no other reason than in a school truth ought to count. Instead, I sensed a desire to simply shut me up somehow because it had become painfully clear that the issue was not going away. It was sort of a "Will this make you happy?" kind of move.

Second, he printed the retraction on a little piece of paper posted in the lower right-hand corner of the small library window--not the main display section where the incorrect information had been displayed. The paper can barely be spotted and is in front of some ghost cut-outs that had, I assume, been previously hung up. (This is part of the seasonal display?) There is no article posted, only a note at the bottom of the sheet that directs people to the library desk if they want to pick up an article about what the paper says: "SARAH PALIN NEVER BANNED BOOKS." Of course, they'd have to first spot the paper before they can actually inquire about it.

I don't like how it all unfolded. However, I know I should see the miniature retraction as some sort of small victory. While it is a pitiful attempt to rectify the situation, it does do something. If nothing else, I know I held people accountable to the truth, I looked out for our students' best interest, and I defended Governor Palin, who deserves to be defended against malicious smears. The smears of the mainstream media and anklebiters are bad enough, but a public school is certainly a place where her record--and everyone else's--ought to be safe from lies.

To Kill a Mockingbird, in my opinion, is the greatest piece of literature ever written, and I was reminded of this masterpiece today. I take some comfort in the words of Maudie Atkinson who tells Jem, after Atticus defends Tom Robinson in court, "And I said to myself, 'it's a step. It's just a baby-step, but it's step.'"

Below are pictures. The last one is the main window, where the original misinformation was posted, and where the truth ought to hang:

Sarah Thinks Outside of the Box: A Post by Conservative Girl with a Voice

Glenn Beck is so right on so many levels. He is not only saying what so many of us feel, but he is doing so with intense courage and credibility. While watching today’s show, he discussed an issue that has been touching on my last nerve for a while now. Like many of you, I no longer identify myself as a Republican, but as a proud Conservative. The presidential election of 2008 changed any of the once-held perceptions I held regarding the so-called “Grand Old Party.” Prior to the election, I used to vote for Republicans whenever I had the chance, thinking this party had my best intentions at heart. While many members of this party, including Sarah Palin, Michele Bachmann, Jim DeMint, John Boehner, Mike Pence, Marsha Blackburn and others DO fight the good fight and stick to the values of conservatism, many other Republicans have lost their way. Instead of going to Washington D.C. to make it better, Washington ends up changing them; in fact, the latest Rasmussen poll shows 73% of people say the GOP has lost touch with its Republican base.

Far too often, elected officials become overwhelmed and tainted by the power and prestige that comes with holding an elected office. While the majority go to Washington with sincere, just intentions, along the way they seem to forget the job they were sent there to do. In the shuffle, they forget about you and they forget about me, which is a huge mistake given that WE are the ones who elected them in the first place. I am sick and tired of the Washington establishment acting like they care about me, when it is clearly apparent they don’t. They say one thing, yet do another. They say they are for tax cuts, but they raise our taxes. They say they are for limited government, but they help it to grow. They say they are for fiscal responsibility, but they continue to spend. They say they are in favor of energy independence, but vote against drilling for oil. They say they are against stimulus packages and bailouts, but they vote for in favor of them. You get the idea? I could go on and on.

The point I am making is that these individuals talk a good talk, but they don’t follow through and walk the good walk. This is what I admire so much about Sarah Palin. As I have written about before, what you see with Sarah is what you get. She is not afraid to actually follow through on her promises. This is so refreshing to see. It is almost as if the majority of those in Washington are in a bubble and we, the voters and their constituents, are on the outside of the bubble looking in. Within this bubble, they see the dollar signs and payouts and the lobbyists and, in turn, make their decisions solely upon issues that interest them best. There is so much that is wrong with this picture. While Sarah represents what is right, so many in her very own party have turned on her, which is just one of the many reasons our party is split. While I expected that the Democratic Party would attack Sarah on policy, I NEVER in my wildest dreams ever thought members from the party to which she belongs would turn on her as well. Remember when I told you that I don’t consider myself a Republican anymore? This is one of the prominent reasons for this.

I see the GOP as an unknown entity right now. My reasoning for this is because there are so many republicans out there who are trying to changed and tweak everything the Republican Party is based upon. I’d hate to break it to the John McCain’s or Lindsey Grahams of the Republican Party, but the Republican Party was founded on conservatism. The Republican Party I know is the party of Ronald Reagan. A party based upon limited government, fiscal responsibility, tax cuts and a strong military. Like Glenn Beck eluded to, there is another option for those who do not agree with these values and this party’s mascot is a donkey. Recently, Lindsey Graham said that in order to keep up with the times, it was crucial that the Republican Party become a “center-right party.” Now, I don’t know about you, but if Graham and others who agree with him want a center-right party, then, they should change that “R” after their names to a “D.” I am sick and tired of the Olympia Snowes and Susan Collins’. In calling themselves Republicans, they are basically lying to Americans. The Republican Party does not need any more RINOS (Republicans in Name Only).

Now, I know some of you out there might see my criticism as harsh, but I am sick and tired of the Republican Party members of both houses of Congress who have lost their way. If you need any example of the problems that come with turning into a “center-right party,” you don’t have to look any further than to the 2008 Presidential Election. The Republican Party had its most liberal candidate in history, and what happened? WE LOST. That’s right, we lost. What does this tell you? It should tell you that the more to the center the Republican Party has become, the more narrow the distinction between the Republican and Democratic parties. With John McCain, the media had the perfect candidate. The media wanted John McCain to be the Republican Party’s nominee because he’s as center-right as they come. Remember who he said was his favorite president? Teddy Roosevelt, who was a big Progressive- that tells you a lot right there. As a center-right candidate, McCain frolicked along and pretty much went whatever direction the wind blew. Don’t get me wrong, I would rather have John McCain as president because not only was the lesser of the two liberals, but we would have had Sarah as our Vice President- Sarah, who is a true Conservative Republican.

When the Republican Party drifted away from its founding principles, so did its popularity, and we see the result we are left with. The Republican Party no longer has the control of either houses of Congress, but this is beginning to change as we see more and more candidates who are running for the right reasons and sticking to the values of conservatism. A recent poll found that more individuals consider themselves conservative than liberal. This is a positive step in the right direction for conservatism as a whole. One issue that remains has to do with the fact that while we have new conservative candidates coming to the forefront, will they be able to beat the incumbent in their districts? This is why it is so important that one votes upon principle, not party.

One of the things I really admire about Sarah is that she thinks outside of the box. The reason is because she is going to support the candidate who best represents her values regardless of party. As I write this, I have just been informed via a note on Sarah’s Facebook page, in which she is throwing her support behind a candidate in the New York 23rd District Race. Sarah is choosing values and issues over party in supporting Doug Hoffman a third-party candidate from the Conservative Party. Way to go, Sarah! You are a leader, and you do walk the walk.

The Republican Party’s candidate, if you can even call her that, is Dede Scozzafava. On paper, Scozzafava looks more like a liberal Democrat, than a Republican, which is the contributing factor for her being behind Hoffman in the polls. This is a great example of how powerful the conservative movement is. I read today that many of the individuals who are volunteering for Hoffman’s campaign have never volunteered for a campaign in their lives. For the first time, they feel passionate about the values Hoffman speaks of and sincerely value the importance of conservatism. Like Sarah has so eloquently said in the past, issues matter, and New York’s 23rd District Race is proof of this. Unlike Newt Gingrich, who supported the RINO Scozzafava, Sarah is taking a stand and doing the right thing in speaking out that conservatism matters over party.

Perhaps this is even more prevalent today with the Obama Administration. If the N.Y. 23rd District Race is any indication, the seats congressional members hold may not stay warm for long, that is, if our elected officials don’t hold true to the values and platform that helped them get elected. Voters are standing up and speaking out, and they are DEFINITELY tired of the politics as usual. While President Obama repeatedly spoke of bringing people together, he has done nothing of the sort. I’m tired of the hype and pain. It’s time to rise up and let our voices be heard in the form of electing leaders who stand for conservatism, for we are the party of Ronald Reagan- the party of freedom and liberty. Below is Sarah's most recent Facebook Note regarding the New York 23rd District Race:

Support Doug Hoffman

The people of the 23rd Congressional District of New York are ready to shake things up, and Doug Hoffman is coming on strong as Election Day approaches! He needs our help now.

The votes of every member of Congress affect every American, so it's important for all of us to pay attention to this important Congressional campaign in upstate New York. I am very pleased to announce my support for Doug Hoffman in his fight to be the next Representative from New York's 23rd Congressional district. It's my honor to endorse Doug and to do what I can to help him win, including having my political action committee, SarahPAC, donate to his campaign the maximum contribution allowed by law.

Our nation is at a crossroads, and this is once again a "time for choosing."

The federal government borrows, spends, and prints too much money, while our national debt hits a record high. Government is growing while the private sector is shrinking, and unemployment is on the rise. Doug Hoffman is committed to ending the reckless spending in Washington, D.C. and the massive increase in the size and scope of the federal government. He is also fully committed to supporting our men and women in uniform as they seek to honorably complete their missions overseas.

And best of all, Doug Hoffman has not been anointed by any political machine.

Doug Hoffman stands for the principles that all Republicans should share: smaller government, lower taxes, strong national defense, and a commitment to individual liberty.

Political parties must stand for something. When Republicans were in the wilderness in the late 1970s, Ronald Reagan knew that the doctrine of "blurring the lines" between parties was not an appropriate way to win elections. Unfortunately, the Republican Party today has decided to choose a candidate who more than blurs the lines, and there is no real difference between the Democrat and the Republican in this race. This is why Doug Hoffman is running on the Conservative Party's ticket.

Republicans and conservatives around the country are sending an important message to the Republican establishment in their outstanding grassroots support for Doug Hoffman: no more politics as usual.

Sarah Palin Endorses Doug Hoffman for NY-23

By Adrienne Ross - www.motivationtruth.com

We have been waiting for this endorsement. Here it is, and as a New Yorker, I am especially pleased to report that Sarah Palin has endorsed Doug Hoffman for the 23rd Congressional District of New York.

Via her Facebook page, Sarah announces:

Canada Free Press: In Praise of Sarah

By Adrienne Ross - www.motivationtruth.com

In an article for Canada Free Press, Bob Beers does a thorough job of breaking down why Governor Palin is so reviled by the Left. Judging from her long list of accomplishments and qualities, which he outlines, there really is no question why she is deemed a threat to Liberals. She is!

He writes:

As you can see, accomplishment is the least of Mrs. Palin’s problems. Quite frankly she has a bigger wealth of accomplishment than Obama and his entire cabinet combined. There will probably be screams of outrage from the left on that one, but honestly, based on what this woman has done in the face of intense opposition from both sides of the aisle, Barack Hussein Obama is a rank amateur compared to her All Star performance.

So here is my estimation as to why she is so hated by the left. She is an accomplished, well-spoken housewife and mother; faithful to her God, husband, her children and to her constituents. She has a proven record of honesty and self sacrifice for the good of those who elected her. No wonder the left considers her such an incredible danger. She would be someone who could sit in the oval office with the complete confidence of the majority of Americans behind her. She had to be stopped at all costs because her record is truly unassailable outside of the realm of lies the liberals live in.

Sarah Palin’s character rests upon a rock-solid foundation of achievement.

Mr. Beers highlights Sarah Palin's incredibly long list of achievements. If you have any doubts as to the weight of her resume', or simply need a reminder, be sure to click here to read the entire article.

Sarah Palin’s "Going Rogue" Smashes Another Sales Record! Plus, A Sell Out Crowd In Missouri

Sarah Palin’s new book, set for release on November 17th has set yet another sales milestone. According to Newsmax Magazine, Going Rogue, An American Life has smashed all previous sales records for the magazine’s book division.

Sarah Palin's new book, "Going Rogue: An American Life," hasn't even been released yet.

Though it won't be released until Nov. 17. -- it's already breaking records as an online bestseller.

In fact, it is the best-selling book ever in the history of Newsmax for pre-publication sales.

"Americans are very anxious to read this book," Christopher Ruddy, editor of Newsmax.com said. "We have never seen so many people pre-ordering a book from us since we started Newsmax in 1998."

Newsmax has several offers going that couple Sarah’s new book, with subscriptions to their popular magazine.

In other news, Sarah is scheduled to appear at the College of the Ozarks near Branson, Missouri. The college, which bills itself as "Hard Work U" seems to be the perfect fit for Sarah, who is known for her hard work and determination.

From KSPR ABC-TV in Springfield:

By KSPR News

College of the Ozarks news release:

Tickets to attend the Sarah Palin Convocation at College of the Ozarks on December 2, are no longer available. The ticket line quickly filled, consuming all tickets available to the public. Due to limited seating, there was a cap on available tickets. "As a charismatic speaker and highly-interesting political figure, Sarah Palin attracts much public interest," said Sue Head, Executive Director of The Keeter Center for Character Education. "Because of this, the College anticipated that tickets would go quickly."

Governor Palin is slated to speak at College of the Ozarks December 2, as part of the Leonard B. and Edith Gittinger Community Convocation series, which was developed to attract renowned speakers to share on the topics of character, work ethic and citizenship with College of the Ozarks students and the community alike.

It is also reported that Sarah will headline a Right To Life benefit in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on November 6th. From their Life Voice blog:

Wisconsin Right to Life Presents Sarah Palin

Yes, it’s true! Sarah Palin is coming to Milwaukee to appear at a benefit for the educational efforts of Wisconsin Right to Life. The event is Friday, November 6 at 7:30pm at the Wisconsin Exposition Center at State Fair Park, Hall B. You won’t want to miss this exciting opportunity to hear Sarah Palin!

While we do not have confirmation of this event, it must be noted that Sarah is a strong supporter of right to life issues, and as Governor, traveled to a Right To Life event in Evansville, Indiana to promote their efforts.

Sarah is also scheduled to be a guest on the Oprah Winfrey show in an episode that will air November 16th the day before her book hits the shelves nationwide. Winfrey, who’s show is still trying to climb out of the ratings hole it fell into after she, for the first time, endorsed and campaigned for a candidate, Barack Obama, is looking for Sarah to bring in the viewers. Her move to support Obama alienated a significant amount of her audience.

Sarah, who is ratings gold, just ask Lorne Michaels, should help Oprah’s floundering ratings. Just the dynamics of the interview will be worth a look.

Supporting Gov. Palin Means Respect, Trust, Loyalty

I have seen comments from numerous supporters of Governor Palin's expressing "disappointment" for various reasons in her decision to appear on the Oprah Winfrey Show.

Let's make this very simple:

  • Governor Palin has 17 years of executive and political experience, going on 18.

  • Governor Palin is an astute businesswoman as well as a stateswoman (to call her a "politician" to me is a gross insult). Going Rogue is her product. Governor Palin knows how and where to market her products.

  • Governor Palin has a journalism degree. She was a sportscaster and was part of the media.

  • Governor Palin has borne the complete brunt of a full court hostile press, and not merely survived but thrived, thanks largely to her very strong objective ego. In a perverse way, her enemies did her a huge favor, for she now has media experience that millions of dollars in consultations and simulation cannot buy. Governor Palin is more than ready for any media attack.

  • As Governor, Sarah Palin hired Bill McAllister, an excellent communications director who served her well. Both Meg Stapleton and Pam Pryor handle Governor Palin's media through SarahPAC, and as delineated in an article this morning, Ms. Pryor has more than two decades of media and communications experience.

  • Sometimes, a leader's decision might not appear to make sense prima facie. Governor Palin has her reasons -- reasons that we are not privy to and may never be. We are not in her inner sanctum. Part of loving and supporting her is trusting and respecting her decisions as a leader, understanding that these unknown reasons may exist.

What the entire foregoing list distills to is this: Governor Palin -- not any supporter of hers -- decides who she will interview with, where, how, when, why, and with what she will conduct said interview.

In this relationship, Governor Palin is the leader. We are her supporters. When we sign on to support any leader, we owe that leader our loyalty, trust and respect. The leader in turn must earn our loyalty, trust, and respect, and this is done by establishing a track record of accomplishments, simultaneously avoiding association with anything that would bring them disgrace. Governor Palin has fulfilled her end of this relationship far above and beyond.

The Limit of Respect, Trust and Loyalty

This is not to suggest that Governor Palin be deified, not held accountable for her actions, or blindly supported no matter what. Cults of personality are very dangerous and toxic. We don't want to establish one around Governor Palin and she certainly would not approve of such a thing. Even "absolute" loyalty, trust, and respect have a limit, which is, they must be earned. If a leader commits a highly unethical or criminal act, an act of grave moral turpitude, or displays egregiously bad judgment, that leader would be no longer deserving of support. My position is -- that Governor Palin never came anywhere near that limit with her decision to market her book on Oprah's show.

Why Her Appearance on Oprah is Worthy of our Support

The Oprah Winfrey show is a well-established venue for authors to market their books -- the purpose of Governor Palin's appearance there. For that reason, I find it patently absurd to question her judgment in appearing on this show; and ludicrous to disavow and deny her support on that basis.

For those of you who do not watch Oprah, because you don't like her -- If you love and support Governor Palin, on November 16, watching or DVR'ing the one episode of Oprah is the right thing to do. It is right, because we want Governor Palin and her product to succeed. You're not doing it for Oprah. You're doing it for Governor Palin. Boycotting this episode because you don't like Oprah is a self-defeating act for any person who considers themselves a supporter of Governor Palin's, in my opinion.

Yes, Oprah could be considered an enemy of Governor Palin's by virtue of her rather enthusiastic support of Obama. We also have been clamoring for Governor Palin to run for President in 2012, yes? We want her to deal with allies and enemies -- people like Ahmadinejad, Putin, the Castro Bros., Chavez, and so forth. She cannot go the rest of her life just interviewing on shows she is comfortable with. "A ship in a harbor is safe. That's not what ships are built for."

Governor Palin picked Oprah's show for what I believe are very good reasons worthy of delineation:

  1. Governor Palin has her audience already on Hannity, Greta, Beck, etc. We already bought her book by pre-order! She doesn't need to go promote her book to people who already bought it. That is preaching to the choir and a complete waste of an interview.

  2. Oprah's show is the venue for authors to market their books. Governor Palin is marketing a book.

  3. Governor Palin will win minds and hearts on Oprah -- she will gain supporters, because she will be placing herself in a new venue, in a new market. And this is a good test market for her: center-left, feminists -- Reagan Democrats -- women -- lots of women -- for women are Oprah's main audience.

  4. Governor Palin walked into Saturday Night Live (SNL) a year and three days ago with Tina Fey as an enemy and walked out with her as a friend. Even Alec Baldwin softened his heart towards her, and SNL enjoyed the best ratings they had in 30 years. This is what you call a win-win.
Supporting Governor Palin does not just mean posting "I love you Sarah" or something equally emotionally charged on her Facebook wall, and where ever else we might post it. Absent respect, trust, or loyalty, expressed love is nothing more than meaningless words.

Sarah Palin Is Advancing in a New Direction

According to news sources, Sarah Palin has scheduled two other speaking engagements in addition to her November 16 interview with Oprah Winfrey. Keep in mind that there has been no official word from a Palin spokesman concerning any of the three engagements. Several times in the past, groups have issued an invitation to Governor Palin to speak at an event and then advertised that she would be making an appearance before receiving confirmation from her that she would indeed do so. That has resulted in misunderstandings and negative publicity. So with that caveat in mind. the following news items are presented.

On October 18, Ozark's First announced Governor Palin's December 2 speaking engagement:

Former republican Vice Presidential Candidate Sarah Palin is coming to the Ozarks.

She's booked to speak at the College of the Ozarks on Wednesday, December 2nd.

It's for the Leonard B. and Edith Gittinger Community Convocation at the Keeter Gymnasium.

The tickets are free; call (417) 690-2240. They'll be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis the week of Thanksgiving.

The former Alaska governor is expected to speak at 7 p.m. that day.

On October 20, KSPR News announced that the tickets had been sold out:

College of the Ozarks news release:

KTUU TV announced on October 20 that Governor Palin would be speaking at a Right to Life Event in Milwaukee on November 6:

Former Gov. Sarah Palin will speak in a Milwaukee, Wisc. suburb next month as part of a program presented by Wisconsin Right to Life.

Officials say tickets must be purchased in advance with a limit of four per order.

Palin's stop in Milwaukee comes 11 days before her memoirs are to be released.

On October 21, the Juneau Empire published this summary:

Former Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin is about to re-emerge on the national scene.

It's been four months since Palin resigned as Alaska governor, and she's largely been out of the public eye working on her memoir. "Going Rogue: An American Life" will debut next month.

Now Palin is ready to help promote the book by sitting down with Oprah Winfrey, who endorsed Barack Obama in the presidential election.

Harpo Productions announced Tuesday that Palin will appear on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" on Monday, Nov. 16.

According to Harpo, the interview will be Palin's first about her new book, and it will be the first time Palin and Winfrey will have met.

Palin's book was No. 4 on Amazon.com's best-seller list on Tuesday. It's slated to be released Tuesday, Nov. 17, the day after Palin's interview with Winfrey.

Palin will also be hitting the speech circuit in November and December.

Palin is scheduled to speak in a Milwaukee suburb next month as part of a program presented by Wisconsin Right to Life.

Officials say no tickets will be sold at the door of the Nov. 6 event at Wisconsin Exposition Center at State Fair Park in West Allis, Wis.

Palin also is set to speak about patriotism, citizenship and civic engagement on Dec. 2 at the College of the Ozarks in southwest Missouri. The Springfield News-Leader reported Tuesday that Palin will be the featured speaker for a community convocation.

The College of the Ozarks is a Christian school near Branson with about 1,400 students.

Since resigning from office July 26, Palin has made only a few public appearances, most notable a speech before investors in Hong Kong. She's also appeared at a gun rights dinner in Anchorage, and attended the welcome home ceremony in Fairbanks for soldiers, including her son, Track.

Gov. Palin Picks Pam Pryor for Spokeswoman

According to Mike McCarville, reporter for Tulsa Today, Governor Palin has chosen Pam Pryor to speak to the media on her behalf (McCarville, 2009, ¶2-3).

"A member of [Governor] Palin's team in 2008 says that Pryor today is '[Governor] Palin's 'go-to girl. If Sarah has a doubt about anything, she talks to Pam. If Sarah wants to do something, she talks to Pam. Pam is a solid lock in [Governor] Palin's future.' " (McCarville, 2009, ¶4).

McCarville devoted the remainder of the article Ms. Pryor's biography and credentials.

Ms. Pryor "was named one of the 100 most powerful women in Washington by Washingtonian Magazine" (McCarville, 2009, ¶7). She has a solid background in college teaching and instruction, and broadcast media having been TV news anchor and reporter, as well as having a radio talk show in Oklahoma City (McCarville, 2009, ¶5). Ms. Pryor was Congressman J.C. Watts' press secretary (McCarville, 2009, ¶6), was responsible for GOP House communications (McCarville, 2009, ¶7), has had several public relations and communication clients under her consultancy including the RNC (McCarville, 2009, ¶8-9), and is a solid evangelical (McCarville, 2009, ¶10-11).

Commentary:

A leader is ultimately only as good as his or her reports. Governor Palin understands this fully and has a solid track record of making sound hiring decisions. This could not be more clear than when she held office and made 123 appointments during her final seven months. It was in fact, Governor Palin's hiring decisions that permitted her to leave office knowing that her vision and agenda would continue on. Her hiring decisions are why the decision to leave was prima facie brilliant.
