More Mitt Romney Leadership Fail: Day Late And A Dollar Short Edition

Sarah Palin sunk her teeth into Obama’s posterior back in September of 2008, and like a pit bull, has never let go. She has hammered Obama unmercifully for almost two years, and has been right about the guy every time. She has not only been leading the national resistance to Obama, and his communist regime, she has reduced him to the quivering mass of indecision and incompetence that we now see on display.

Because of Sarah Palin, Obama is a beaten and broken man. A lame duck waiting to be mercifully put out of his misery come 2012.

Looks like noted "Profile in Courage" Mitt Romney is up to his old tricks again.

As we all know, Sarah Palin came out the other day and gave Barack Obama one of the most epic dressing downs in online history, and then followed up in numerous television interviews. Just hammered the poor guy, telling him we need a lot more ass kickin, and a whole lot less talkin’. You can read about it here.

We also know that thanks to Sarah Palin, and others, Obama will indeed be talking to British Petroleum’s CEO, Tony Hayward, something that, amazingly, he hasn’t done since this entire fiasco started. You can read about that here.

In what is becoming a real trend, Mitt Romney, and the other GOP back benchers, have started coming out of hiding, now that Sarah Palin has done all of the heavy lifting, and thoroughly knocked Obama off his pedestal, exposing him as the incompetent, inexperienced dolt that he is.

It seems Romney, and others want to try and sneak in and grab some glory by going "me too" after Sarah has done all of the ass kickin’, and then stand up and crow about their "leadership."

Stacy Drake wrote an excellent piece on Romney and the rest of the GOP establishment "Good Old Boy Network." when Romney tried to take credit for a bunch of wins on Super Tuesday, and the country clubbers in the GOP tried to downplay the hard work Sarah Palin has done. You can read Stacy’s great fantastic here.

The one that got me going was the endorsement of Nikki Haley for Governor in South Carolina. Now granted, Romney had endorsed Nikki a few weeks before Sarah did, but Nikki, who suffered from poor name recognition, still had the same problem after Romney endorsed her, and was stuck in fourth place. Sarah came in and endorsed her and within a couple of days, she was the front runner, and looked to run away with the win.

That’s when the South Carolina "Good Old Boy Network" got things in high gear, something Sarah understands all too well. All sorts of nonsense started flying, from claims of affairs, to racist fools calling her a "raghead" (Nikki is of Indian heritage) to claims she wasn’t a Christian. It got so bizarre it was hard to follow all of the latest lies told about Nikki.

Of course, Nikki Haley is an incredibly strong, articulate candidate, and this nonsense didn’t phase her one little bit. She just kept on pounding her message of common sense conservative leadership home. Easy to see why Sarah chose her. Although she didn’t win 50.1 percent of the vote, she did get almost as many votes as her three challengers combined, 49 percent. So she will have a run-off, but all the polls show it’s a forgone conclusion, Nikki will be the Republican candidate for Governor, and of course, the next Governor of the Palmetto State.

Nikki won because she is an excellent leader, someone, not unlike Sarah Palin, who has a long record of reforming government. She made her case to the people of her state, and they liked what they heard.

Here’s the problem, when all the slimiest of the slime, the very worst politics has to offer, crawled from every crack and crevice to attack Nikki, it was Jenny Sanford and Sarah Palin who circled the wagons, and stood by her side. Mitt Romney was no where to be found. AWOL.

And yet., Mitt, all of his fan boy websites, and his buddies in the lamestream media, rushed to credit the GOP’s show pony with a big win.

Sarah also played a huge part in Carly Fiorina’s win in California, not only by helping her reach front runner status, but by talking about her at every opportunity, and hammering the point home that Carly was the right person to go after Barbara Boxer. Carly won big.

Romney on Carly? Crickets.

In the latest bid to try and fool America into believing he’s a leader, by trying to piggy back on Sarah’s hard work, and great success, Romney is now beclowning himself by starting a petition to tell Barack Obama to meet with BP’s Tony Hayward, something that .... thanks to a little talkin’ to from Sarah Palin ....he already has planned.

This guy, Romney, is magnificently pathetic in this latest effort.

Ian Lazaran at C4P has this to offer:

Mitt Romney Has Forced Me to Defend Barack Obama

Mitt Romney has done the unthinkable and forced a partisan like myself to defend Barack Obama. Romney's latest inane maneuver has been to ask the minority of Republicans who view him favorably to sign a petition demanding that the community organizer call the President of British Petroleum.

Perhaps the Republican Party hacks who work for Romney (is Eric Ferhnstrom still claiming that Scott Brown stopped Obamacare?) haven't seen the news but here it is (emphasis added):

The administration is acceding to the wishes of Sarah Palin and Matt Lauer, and summoning BP to the White House.

The top federal official overseeing the Gulf oil spill has invited BP executives to meet with President Obama next week....Conservative commentators, including former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, have been criticizing Mr. Obama for not having met face to face with BP executives.

Obama’s reluctance to go mano-a-mano with BP also generated political heat....In a Facebook post Tuesday, former Republican Vice Presidential Candidate and Alaska Governor Sarah Palin scoffed at the president’s explanation on NBC and mocked the press for taking so long to press the president on the issue.

So Romney's petition is essentially asking Barack Obama to do...what he already has done because of prodding from "conservative commentators, including former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin." (the Associated Press' words, not mine). It's pretty stupid to bash Obama for taking a step that he already took just for the purpose of making it seem like you are an important voice.

Look, the best political strategy at this point is to explain why the community organizer has failed with respect to the Obama oil spill. Palin explained on Greta's show that the contingency plan approved by MMS in the event of an oil spill consisted of just boilerplate language based on an Alaska contingency plan. Palin explained that an oil spill in the Gulf is completely different from an oil spill in Alaska. This is what we need to hear from our Republican leaders, rather than cheap partisan stunts like Romney's BP petition.

Ian is a lot more charitable than I am. This has got to be the most sophomoric attempt in political history.

Seriously, Mitt Romney is so desperate to remain relevant and "appear" like he’s a leader, he has just become a caricature of one.

It’s quite obvious that Romney’s game plan for a White House run is to hide as much as possible, and not make any effort to lead, lest he get it wrong, and later have to flip and flop around, as he is well known to do, then pop up when the coast is clear and shout "look at me!"

I mean why not? Just stay hidden in the shadows, watch Sarah Palin kick ass and take names, then jump up and scream "me too!"

This is about as cowardly as one can get, and shows not only an incredible lack of leadership ability, but also a lack of ability to actually solve problems, or offer up real solutions.

Now this wasn’t a cake walk for Sarah. Look, taking down Obama was child’s play. She’s had his number since the day John McCain picked her as his running mate, and has been living, rent free in his head, and the heads of his team, ever since.Sarah has taken on a lot tougher opponents.

The tough part for Sarah has been putting up with all of the hate and lies aimed at her from the Obama regime, his hand picked Alaska Mafia ©, and all of his helpers in the lamestream media. In the best tradition of thugs, despots, and dictators the world over, they have thrown the very best they have at Sarah and her family, and she is still standing.

Not only is Sarah still standing after some of the most vile and hateful attacks we have ever witnessed, she has THRIVED. Sarah has only become stronger and more powerful. Sarah has proven herself to be one of the greatest leaders of our time. Someone who isn’t afraid to stick her neck out for what she believes in.

But that doesn’t mean it was easy for her, or her family, to take.

Now Sarah is rather humble, and is quite slow to take credit of any of this. She often quotes Ronald Reagan who was fond of saying that, it was amazing what one can accomplish, when they didn’t care about who gets the credit for it. Witness this in how she totally downplayed her efforts in electing Nikki Haley, Carly Fiorina, Susanna Martinez, and others across the nation.

I like that Sarah’s humble, shows she has her head on straight, and her priorities right. But that won’t stop us from blowing her horn for her, and praising her superb leadership. It also won’t stop us from watching her back when weasels like Mitt Romney try to come in after the fact and act like they had something to offer, or played any role in the process.

This seems to be the plan Romney and the rest of the GOP show ponies want to follow. Let Sarah Palin go out and destroy the competition, then show up and say: "Step aside little lady, and let us ‘Good Old Boys’ take care of this."

Sorry boys, you are gonna have to EARN the presidential nomination this time. The days of saying "it’s my turn" are over in the Republican Party. We are sick of the establishment elites who think they are superior to the common man, and know what’s best for us. You are the guys who helped get us in this mess to start with!

Mitt, you had your chance to get out there and prove to the nation that you were a real leader. To take a stand, and join the fight, but you passed on that chance. You were too busy planning and calculating, and worried about your own political future to actually give a damn about the nation and fight to save it.

It’s too late now man. It’s quite obvious your services are not needed, and we are more than capable of saving America, and turning things around, without you.

You obviously have something more important to do than fight for Liberty and Freedom and save America from certain ruin.

Don’t let us keep you from it.

Ricochet Conversation: Palin is Brilliant but Makes them Nervous; Good!

By Adrienne Ross - www.motivationtruth.com

Listen to these political minds discuss the brilliance of Governor Palin, her influence in elections, and how she totally outweighs Mitt Romney, who appears to be doing nothing right now but running for president. The ridiculous aspect of their conversation, however, is that they find it necessary still to try to diminish her. They say she makes them "nervous."

Nervous? Good! Establishment Republicans caught up in the love affair with politics-as-usual, as well as loony Liberals bent on progressing their dangerous agenda, ought to be nervous. "Be afraid. Be very afraid."

Palin: Fuel America with Terrorist-Tarred Oil Instead of Drilling Our Own, Baby?

Gov. Palin wrote about the need for energy independence as her family's RV traversed Edmonton, Canada, this day, June 13, 2010.

Am I the only one who wonders what could possibly be the agenda of any politician who would thwart our drive toward energy independence? Continuing to lock up America’s domestic energy reserves, including the energy-rich Last Frontier of Alaska, only equips dangerous foreign regimes as they fund terrorist organizations to harm us and our allies. I’m going to keep speaking and writing about this in the simplest of terms until someone can provide a simple answer as to why liberal Democrats don’t understand that we have safe, warehoused onshore and shallow water reserves waiting for permission to be extracted. They either choose not to understand the geology, science, and technology behind an “all-of-the-above” approach to energy security, or they understand it, yet for whatever frightening reason choose to be lap dogs to Chavez and Ahmadinejad.

Shoot, I must have lived such a doggoned sheltered life as a normal, independent American up there in the Last Frontier, schooled with only public education and a lowly state university degree, because obviously I haven’t learned enough to dismiss common sense (a prerequisite for power in Washington these days). Help me out, friends! Help someone like me – and the majority of Americans – understand why we would ever kowtow and bow to foreign regimes that hate us, instead of doing all we can to starve the beast of terrorism in our plight for security, prosperity, and peace.

There’s an obvious common sense answer to our need for security and energy independence, but don’t hold your breath waiting for common sense to surface in Washington – it’s an endangered species there. Obviously we must responsibly develop our God-given domestic oil and gas reserves right here, right now; we must conserve energy; and we must develop renewables that are based on sound science, not snake oil and favors for political pals.

Please read the following Newsmax article (posted below) summarizing GOP efforts to push the Obama Administration to produce a plan to potentially wean us off one source of dangerous foreign oil. (Of course, I think the prodding should be even more aggressive to shake up the naïve complacency of anti-development Democrats and some deer-in-the-headlights mainstream reporters who are finally realizing they’d been buffaloed into believing any politician had all the answers.)

We must understand the imperative nature of energy security, along with America’s life and death need to secure our borders. Baby, this is why I won’t sit down and shut up about the need to drill.

Senators Demand Answers on Venezuela’s Links to Terrorism

A dozen Republican senators have sent a letter challenging the Obama administration to explain what it knows about Venezuela’s support for terrorism and suggesting that the country be declared a “state sponsor of terrorism.”

“Hugo Chavez’s relationships with Iran and other foreign terrorist organizations continue to grow and pose a serious threat to our hemisphere,” Sen. George LeMieux of Florida, one signer of the letter, said of the Venezuelan president.

“I encourage the State Department to thoroughly evaluate Venezuela’s actions and determine if the country needs to be added to the official U.S. list of state sponsors of terrorism.”

John Ensign of Nevada, who drafted the letter along with LeMieux, declared: “It’s no secret to the American people that Venezuela wishes harm to the United States. What is secret is how many more ties to terrorist organizations and state sponsors of terrorism does Venezuela need to be declared a state sponsor of terrorism.”

The letter addressed to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton points to a number of concerns raised by Chavez’s Venezuela:

  • Surface-to-air missiles and other weapons have reportedly been provided by Venezuela to FARC guerrillas in Colombia. An arms cache captured from FARC in 2008 included Swedish-made anti-tank rocket launchers that had been sold to Venezuela.
  • Venezuela provides cross-border sanctuaries for Colombian guerrillas.
  • A United Nations report last year disclosed that nearly one-third of all cocaine produced in the Andean region passes through Venezuela. The senators question how much terrorist groups such as al-Qaida profit from trafficking drugs that originate in or flow through Venezuela.
  • The U.S. has frozen the assets of two Venezuelans, including one working for Chavez, for providing direct support to the terrorist group Hezbollah. The senators ask the State Department for an assessment of the activities of Hezbollah inside Venezuela.
  • Chavez’s “extensive support” of the Castro regime in Cuba is calculated to amount to $1 billion a year, and Cuban advisors are involved in the intelligence and security apparatus of the Venezuelan government.
  • Chavez “has repeatedly expressed support” for Iran’s covert nuclear program and announced a plan for the construction of a “nuclear village” in Venezuela with Iranian assistance. Also, Chavez has pledged to provide Iran with 20,000 barrels of gasoline per day.
  • As for Iran’s Revolutionary Guards, “recent years have witnessed an increased presence in Latin America, particularly Venezuela.”
  • Weekly flights connecting Iran, Syria, and Venezuela raise suspicions of “nefarious purposes” because passengers on these flights have been subject to only “cursory immigration and customs controls.”

Newsmax magazine’s May issue disclosed that Iranian security officers seal off the airport in the Venezuelan capital, Caracas, two hours before Iran Air jets arrived. Those officers supervise cargo unloading with no inspection by local officials.

Iran could easily fly in highly enriched uranium that could then be carried into the U.S. from Mexico, increasing the risk of a terrorist attack with a nuclear weapon.

If the U.S. did declare Venezuela a state sponsor of terrorism, American arms sales to the country would be prohibited, as would U.S. economic assistance, and severe restrictions would be placed on bilateral trade.

“The Obama administration’s decision to pull the trigger on Venezuela may hinge on whether the United States can afford to forfeit petroleum exports from that South American country,” Roger F. Noriega, a former assistant secretary of state and a visiting fellow at the American Enterprise Institute, observes on the Institute’s journal, The American.

“Anticipating the argument that Venezuela’s oil supply is too essential to the U.S. economy to risk slapping that country with the terrorist label, the senators ask the administration to explain its ‘contingency plan’ for dealing with a ‘sudden and prolonged unavailability of Venezuelan oil exports to the United States.’”

In answer to the question, the U.S. would likely find new sources of oil on the international market — but Venezuela’s economy will be crippled by the loss of oil revenue and consumer imports, Noriega notes, adding: “Since the last years of the George W. Bush administration, U.S. diplomats have steered clear of Chavez for fear of ‘provoking’ him. Thanks to congressional oversight, we are about to confront the terrible downside of that naïve, passive policy.”

Other senators who signed the letter include John McCain of Arizona, Scott Brown of Massachusetts, and Republican Whip Jon Kyl of Arizona.

Gov. Palin's Endorsement Monumental to Didier Campaign

Gov. Palin visited Clint Didier Saturday, June 12, 2010 at his home in the Tri-Cities. The US Senatorial candidate expressed his gratitude to Gov. Palin for her endorsement, which he attributed to a 106,000-hit spike over 24 hours on his website. "That's how powerful this woman is," he said. Didier said the effect of her support on his campaign was "monumental" and that "you could not ask for better support."

News anchor, Terry Chick, of KPER spoke about Gov. Palin putting "her considerable political weight" behind Clint Didier. "It is incredible. She is a woman of grit. She's got fire in her belly to save this country just like the rest of the people stepping forward to run," he said.

Gov. Palin Discusses TEA Party Movement on Freedom Watch

Video retrieved from PalinTV

Shrinking Big Government

Gov. Palin, Ron and Rand Paul spoke with Judge Napolitano on Freedom Watch about a host of issues on Saturday, June 12, 2010. When asked if it was possible to shrink big government, Gov. Palin said that it is not only possible, but that it must be done, because we are on a path to insolvency.

Second Amendment

She asserted that our Second Amendment grants individuals the right to keep and bear arms and that rational adults have the right to use guns to protect life and property.

Abortion

When asked if the government should have a say on abortion, Gov. Palin said that if you believe that the woman is pregnant with a child, then use government does have say in protecting the life of that child.

Enumerated Powers

Gov. Palin said that the federal government is disrespecting its limited enumerated powers and is over-reaching.

Gov. Palin said that Gov. Jindal should have built the berms that would have stopped the oil from reaching Louisana's shores, even though it contravened a federal mandate. People's lives and property were at stake.

While Ron Paul advocated pure free markets, Gov. Palin said that regulatory oversight needs to verify what oil companies are saying is true, otherwise people will not believe that drilling can be done safely and responsibly.

When asked if governors and states can nullify federal behaviors if they violates rights property rights, human rights, and rights of individuals. Gov. Palin responded that she did not know legally what Gov. Jindal could do to avoid being sued by the federal government for contravening them, but governors know that the best way to govern is locally. She reiterated her position that the Obama administration is violating the Tenth Amendment.

Unity By Peace Through Strength

Judge Napolitano pointed out that within the TEA Party movement, there is a disagreement between libertarians who tend to be dovish and the hawks. Gov. Palin said this can be reconciled by going back to Ronald Reagan's "peace through strength" doctrine, meaning we have to be prepared to fight and win.

Gov. Palin and Ron Paul have a stark difference in that Paul is an isolationist. He believes we are an empire on the brink of insolvency and collapse. Gov. Palin said that should Israel be attacked, we should be there to defend her. She said that Israel is the only strong ally we have in the middle east. She agreed that we should not engage in empire building; however, Gov. Palin advocated responsible intervention and involvement in world affairs.

Drug Legalization? Palin: No

When asked "is it any business of the federal government if someone were to use a 'recreational' drug in the privacy of their home," Gov. Palin answered, that she is against legalization of marijuana, because it would encourage young people to smoke it. She said; however, that police should have higher priorities than someone smoking a joint in their house and not harming anyone. Ron Paul wants drugs legalized.

Government Hacking of Emails

When asked if the government should be able to hack into email accounts without a search warrant "and on whim," Gov. Palin answered, "absolutely not!" She added that considering such a thing is clear indication of how far we have strayed from the Constitution.

Why Gov. Palin Endorsed Rand Paul

When asked why she endorsed Rand Paul, Gov. Palin said that she respects his "putting it all on the line," and that his libertarian views stand in direct contrast to the Obama administration's over-reach. Ron Paul said he was pleasantly surprised that Gov. Palin endorsed his son and said "it made a big difference" in Rand Paul's campaign.

The Wars in Iraq and Afghanistan

Judge Napolitano noted that Rep. Dana Rohrabacher, who was Ronald Reagan's speech writer said that almost all Republicans in the House of Representatives now believe that Iraq was a mistake. He questioned Gov. Palin, Ron, and Rand Paul about their assessment of the war. Ron Paul believes both the Iraq and Afghanistan wars should end. Rand Paul asked some troops in theater if they thought they were doing a good enough job now to be able over patrolling to local soldiers. The soldiers were unanimously in the affirmative. Gov. Palin was not given the chance to answer, as Judge Napolitano shifted focus to her thoughts on the government printing more money and our skyrocketing national debt.

Generational Theft

Gov. Palin said that we are "stealing from future generations" and that this "generational theft is immoral, unethical. It should be illegal that we are stealing opportunities from our children because we are paying for our wants and our needs today and then we are expecting them to pick up the tab, and that's why fiscal conservatives, social conservatives, and strong on national security conservatives are united under this umbrella of the TEA Party."

Gov. Palin said she is an independent, but registered in the GOP because its planks mostly align with hers.
