Sarah Palin: Oprah on November 16th & Oprah Video

By Adrienne Ross - www.motivationtruth.com

Sarah Palin is giving her first Going Rogue interview to Oprah Winfrey. This is set to air on Monday, and was taped today.

Via Facebook:

Oprah on November 16th

Willow, Piper, and I are in Chicago and just wanted to let you know that I had a great conversation with Oprah today. We taped the show for Monday, November 16th, and enjoyed it so much that we went way over on time. The rest will air on Oprah.com. Oprah was very hospitable and gracious, and her audience was full of warm, energized and (no doubt) curious viewers.

- Sarah Palin

The book comes out Tuesday, the 17th.

Oprah Winfrey discussed her interview with Governor Palin, to be aired this coming Monday (H/T Daniel at C4P):

Sarah Palin: About That "Coin Controversy" Are You Kidding Me?

You know, maybe it’s just because I’m just a dumb old small town Texan, but having listened to Sarah Palin speak for a couple of years now, on everything from geopolitics, to energy independence, to eating at Dairy Queen, I’ve never had one single problem understanding a single word she has ever said.

You see, like us Texans, Sarah Palin is a plain spoken woman. She says exactly what she means, and by God, she means exactly what she says. This is obviously more than the "elites" in our society can deal with.

These "elites" look for hidden meanings, nuances, what have you. It's like they feel they need an interpreter to understand "American!" It's beyond their abilities to understand that with Sarah Palin, what you see, is what you get.

The more I look around at the so-called "smart people" who occupy the media, Congress, and the White House, the more convinced I am that the whole Ivy League schooled lot is educated far beyond their intelligence.

This of course, explains why America is in the shape it finds itself in.

This latest "Palin controversy" cooked up by the Obamacentric media has to do with the recent speech Sarah gave at the Wisconsin Right To Life festivities Friday night. This is actually the second media cooked up "controversy" surrunding the event, as the Obama lap dogs got their panties in a wad because the press was not allowed. These grown ups have whined like two year olds since. And of course, have blamed Sarah. Never mind that it was the event host, and double never mind that this is standard operating procedure for these things.

So far, no whining about the fact the press cameras won’t be allowed at the Gridiron Dinner, the black tie affair Sarah will be attending in Washington, D.C. next month. Maybe it’s because all of the other A-listers will be there as well.

Anyhow, to the latest made up silliness from the drive by media.

It seems Sarah made some remarks about the fact on the new dollar coin, "In God We Trust" has been moved from it’s rightful place, to the edge of the coin. Like many, she sees this as a metaphor for the way God is being deliberately shoved aside in our culture. Now she never blamed anyone in particular, and yes, she know this all started a while back.

Anyhow, from Sarah:

Coin Controversy?

It is stunning to read and hear about this "coin controversy." At a recent speech in Milwaukee I discussed the troubling fact that we too often move God to the side in our public life, and gave as an example the shift of the words "In God We Trust" to the edge of the dollar coin. My comments were not about this President or this Congress – this change predated them. I was merely making a point about a disturbing trend in our country, after which I moved on to discuss some encouraging trends. People who try to read more into such straightforward comments are working hard to find a controversy where there is none.

- Sarah Palin

Again, one has to wonder if the media is really this stupid.....well, you don’t have to wonder much......or if they are so desperate to find something to attack Sarah on, they have to try this hard! They can’t attack her on facts, they can’t refute some of the most compelling statements that Sarah has made this year, because time and time again, Sarah has been proven correct.

If this is all they have, if this is all they've got, taking this bunch down is going to be easier than once thought!

Palin’s Going Rogue Tour Coming to Sioux City

By Shane Vander Hart, Caffeinated Thoughts

Governor Sarah Palin is coming to Iowa for a book signing for her soon to be released book, Going Rogue: An American Life.

Pertinent Info:

Barnes & Noble
Southern Hills Mall
4400 Sergeant Road
Sioux City, IA 51106
1:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 6, 2009

I’m thinking road trip unless she comes closer.  It had to be about as far away as you can get from Des Moines while still being in the state.  Car pool anyone?

HT: Josh Painter

From the Barnes & Noble website event calendar:

Sarah Palin is signing Going Rogue at this event. No other books or memorabilia. A limited number of wristbands for entry into this booksigning will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis at the store beginning at 7 AM on 12/6/09.

Sunday December 06, 2009 1:00 PM
Southern Hills Mall
4400 Sergeant Rd Unit 550, Sioux City, IA 51106, 712-276-5515

Special Instructions
An original Barnes & Noble or bn.com sales receipt for Going Rogue by Sarah Palin must be presented in order to receive a wristband. Must be present in person to receive wristband. Maximum 2 copies of Going Rogue per person will be signed at event. Please call store for additional event details.

I also called the store and they didn’t have any additional details beyond what is online.  Though it probably wouldn’t hurt to call ahead as it gets closer.

Also if I learn of any other Iowa locations (or Omaha – since that is actually closer to me than Sioux City),  I’ll post.  For any other locations, Texas for Sarah Palin along with several other blogs are maintaining a clearing house of Going Rogue tour events here.  Also you can follow the tour as Governor Palin launches her new Twitter account - @SarahPalinUSA as the tour begins.

Bret Hayworth has some background info on Palin’s trip to Sioux City.  Apparently she specifically requested Sioux City if it was the only Iowa stop she could make:

I’ve just wrapped a second-day piece on the announcement that 2008 Republican Party vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin will bring her “Going Rogue” booksigning tour to Sioux City. It will be her only Iowa appearance, so many Siouxlanders are pumped to see Palin. I spoke with Barnes & Noble community relations manager Elisha Karr, who said she heard from up the chain that Palin specifically asked to come to Sioux City. Seems she’d been buoyed by a crowd of 4,500 people at West High School here in the last few days before the 2008 election. I was there, Palin was definitely embraced by the crowd that day.

Also a couple of additional rules… in order to keep the line going:

  • No posed photos with Palin.
  • No personalization of signings of the books, Palin will be providing only an autograph.

So it looks like she isn’t coming to Des Moines.  Drat, again… anyone in my neck of the woods up for a road trip?  It’ll be a brutal one.

Sarah Palin Honors U.S. Military: A Video Tribute

As Commander-in-Chief of the only National Guard that is on permanent deployment, Sarah Palin’s role as Governor was unique. Sarah is a strong leader and supporter of our United States fighting forces. She commands respect from her troops and in return shows great devotion.

As we wrote earlier, Sarah has a wonderful Veterans Day message.

We thank Missy4SarahPalin for the nice video tribute above. We'd also like to include this video from Sarah’s trip this summer to visit her troops on Kosovo:

Remembering Our Veterans

Growing up just a few miles from Ft Hood, Texas, this Veterans Day has a very different meaning than most. The despicable terror attack that took the lives of some of America’s best still stings. The heart still aches.

We are blessed in America to have the finest military on earth. A military made up of brave men and women who voluntarily choose to serve our nation, to keep us free. These brave men and women put their lives on the line at home and abroad to keep liberty and freedom secure.

Since the very beginning of this nation, our fighting forces have been a symbol for the freedoms we enjoy. They have always been a force for good. Over the years, our forces have confronted great evil, and prevailed. They have fought wars against oppression, against tyranny. 100's of millions worldwide have been liberated because of the sweat and blood of the American G.I.

Many have given the last full measure of devotion in service to us. These are debts that we can never repay. The sacrifice and devotion our bravest give to the nation should never be taken for granted. We must honor our bravest every day. We must thank every soldier, sailor, airman, and Marine that we meet. We must let them know how greatly they are appreciated, not just today, but every day.

Sarah Palin offers her message of tribute to our veterans:

In Honor of Those Who Sacrificed for Our Freedom

In most of our cities and towns, you’ll see memorials to brave Americans – some in uniforms of wars from long ago – who defended freedom. If you look down at their inscriptions, you’ll see that they were dedicated by the mothers, fathers, wives and orphans of the veterans who gave all for their country. In distant lands across the globe, you’ll find silent fields of white markers with the names of Americans who never came home, but who showed their dedication to their country by where they died. Today we honor those who served and made the ultimate sacrifice, as well as those who served and came home forever changed by the battlefield.

Remember all the veterans who fought and sacrificed for our freedom today, and then please take the time to thank our brave men and women currently serving in uniform. We owe them so much.

- Sarah Palin

There are many, many charities and organizations that support our troops. One I would like to highlight is AnySoldier.com. This is a wonderful group. It allows you to send items to members of our armed forces, even if you don’t personally have someone serving.

I was struck by a message the other day from one of our brave men. He had a simple request that folks send baby wipes. As you know, in the field, troops can go days without a proper shower. These moistened wipes help them stay at least somewhat refreshed. It’s the simple things that we take for granted that our troops need the most.

As we remember our bravest, take a trip over to AnySoldier.com and help out.

"We Could Not Forget Them": A Tribute to Our Troops- A Post by Conservative Girl with a Voice

Today is the day that we honor and remember all the veterans who have served this great country. While November 11th is a national holiday of remembrance and thanks, we should frequently take the time to honor our veterans, for without them, America would not be the strong country she is today. Like you, I have an intense love and deep appreciation for our men and women in uniform. I cannot even begin to imagine how difficult it must be to have to pack up and ship out, leaving your family and friends for an extended amount of time. Many return and some do not. I always wonder what these men and women must be thinking as they travel to where they will be stationed. There is no doubt they think about there families and loved ones back home. Our military men and women do so much for us, this is why it is important that we do everything in our power to support and honor them. They are the reason why we are free! They are the reason why we have the freedoms and liberties we do! They are the reason why we are able stand up and speak out. Say a message of thanks. Give them a hug. Tell them how much their service means. Fly and wave your flag proudly. These brave men and women are the TRUE HEROES among us. Let us honor them not only today, but everyday!

Below are Veterans Day messages from two of my role models: Ronald Reagan and Sarah Palin. Their words correctly explain what so many of us feel:

REMARKS BY PRESIDENT RONALD REAGAN VETERANS DAY NATIONAL CEREMONY

Arlington National Cemetery Arlington, Virginia

November 11, 1988

PRESIDENT REAGAN: Those who live today remember those who do not. Those who know freedom remember today those who gave up life for freedom.

Today, in honor of the dead, we conduct ceremonies. We lay wreaths. We speak words of tribute. And in our memories, in our hearts, we hold them close to us still. Yet we also know, even as their families knew when they last looked upon them, that they can never be fully ours again, that they belong now to God and to that for which they so selflessly made a final and eternal act of devotion.

We could not forget them. Even if they were not our own, we could not forget them. For all time, they are what we can only aspire to be: giving, unselfish, the epitome of human love -- to lay down one's life so that others might live.We think on their lives. We think on their final moments. In our mind's eye, we see young Americans in a European forest or on an Asian island or at sea or in aerial combat.

And as life expired, we know that those who could had last thoughts of us and of their love for us. As they thought of us then, so, too, we think of them now, with love, with devotion, and with faith: the certainty that what they died for was worthy of their sacrifice -- faith, too, in God and in the Nation that has pledged itself to His work and to the dream of human freedom, and a nation, too, that today and always pledges itself to their eternal memory.

Thank you. God bless you.

A Note of Thanks from Sarah Palin:

Glenn Beck’s Friday The 13th Nightmare For Liberals Across America: Beck Hosts Prominent Black Conservatives

This is something I am promoting with great pleasure. It was two weeks ago when I opened an e-mail from Conservative blogger, man about town, and all around good guy Clifton B. Cliff was letting us know he would be appearing as a guest on the Glenn Beck show as part of a panel of prominent Black Conservatives. Of course, as a friend and fellow blogger, I was very excited. I knew This would be must see TV!

Now even better, we found out that another colleague and friend, Adrienne Ross, will also be part of this show as well. Man, this couldn’t get any better. Two great bloggers on one big show.

For those that haven’t had the pleasure, Clifton B, who writes as Another Black Conservative, is a must read. His blog covers all of the big topics of the day. Cliff is also a big supporter of Sarah Palin’s. In fact, that’s how we met. His blog is one you simply must bookmark.

Adrienne Ross and I share a lot of bandwidth on the blogs we contribute to. Her blog, Motivation: Truth takes a Christian Conservative look at the events that surround us. Adrienne is a teacher, by trade, and is also a strong supporter of Sarah Palin’s. She is very big in the Draft Sarah Palin 2012 movement. Adrienne’s blog has some great stories, including her trip to Alaska this summer. This is another blog that simply must be bookmarked, and read daily.

If you are a Glenn Beck fan, and well, who isn’t, you know he was rushed to the hospital last week for an emergency appendectomy. Glenn is doing fine and will be back hosting his show on Wednesday.

Glenn has had some very positive panels since he has moved his show over to the Fox News Network, and this will be no exception. So make sure you tune in on Friday, set your DVR, and get ready for the left wing loons’ worst nightmare!

Many thanks to the Left Coast Rebel for coming up with the cool poster to promote this event.
