What Last Night's Results Tell Us: A Post by Conservative Girl with a Voice

What do last night's poll results tell us? As a conservative blogger, there are three fascinating points that I take away from last night's results:

1) A Sarah Palin Endorsement is Gold: When Sarah endorsed Rand Paul in Kentucky, over the other candidates, many were left speechless. I know several individuals who said Rand Paul essentially had no chance of winning the Republican Primary. Boy, were these individuals wrong. Not only did Rand Paul win last night, but he won big. He managed to capture over 50 percent of the vote and energize a state and country in the process. Is Rand Paul the perfect conservative candidate? No, but I believe there is no such thing as the "perfect candidate." Each and every candidate has his or her own beliefs regarding what classifies them as a Republican or Democrat. It baffles my mind the way in which so many people seem to get their panties in a bunch whenever Sarah does not endorse the candidate of their choice. In the recent weeks, I have seen some very strong, offensive language directed at Sarah by members of her own party. When she endorsed Rand Paul and even Carly Fiorina out here in my home state of California, she did so after strong consideration for what would be best for the people of Kentucky and California. It is fine for individuals to disagree with Sarah's endorsements, but instead of attacking her online and calling her vile names, take your anger to the ballot box. Your vote is the greatest endorsement there is.

I am left wondering one thing: Since when did it become law that Sarah has to please everyone? Having met and talked with her, I KNOW FOR A FACT, Sarah is her own woman and makes her own decisions. She never makes any decision without first researching and doing some soul searching. This is one of the reasons I admire her so much. She makes her own path. With her endorsement of Rand Paul, Sarah proved that she is her own woman and as far from a Washington insider as you can get.

Rand Paul's victory last night overwhelmingly proves that the good people of Kentucky agree with Sarah's judgment. The good people of Kentucky are tired of the politics as usual and just want someone who will go to Washington to work for them, putting their best interests to heart. Thank you, Sarah, for stepping up and for being your independent self. You continue to energize and rejuvenate America!!!

2) The Tea Party Movement Continues to Move Full Steam Ahead: Rand Paul's victory last night can also be heavily attributed to the tea party movement. Don't let the lamestream/mainstream media try to tell you this movement is fading or splitting up the Republican Party. On the contrary, this movement is growing, and if last night is any indication, the movement will continue to grow and have a huge impact on upcoming elections. This is what the media fear. Just as their attacks on Sarah illustrate the fear they have in her, their dismissal of the tea party movement as being a serious movement is another sign of fear. The last thing the media want to happen is for average-day Americans to have a say and let their voices be heard. As soon as this happens, the media know they have lost in selling their president. We all know the msm are in the tank for President Obama, and the more the tea party movement grows and expands, the less of an impact the msm will have in selling false advertising. All I have to say to all of this is: "Rock on, Tea Party Movement! Keep fighting the good fight and taking the commonsense conservative message all the way to Washington DC."

3) If You're a Democrat, Stay Away from an Obama Endorsement: It is crystal clear, from what we saw last night, that an endorsement from Obama is an epic fail. There is only so much glitz and glamour an individual can take before they realize they've been conned. The American people are fed up with what is occurring in Washington. Americans are seeing the wasteful spending that is occurring, and instead of sitting back, they have decided to do something about it. Just like the tea party movement is taking the country by storm, so too is the anti-Obama mood. There isn't too much more to say about this other than to kick the bums out and, in the process, kick the antics of the Obama Administration to the curb.

Sarah Palin Leads Latest Iowa 2012 Republican Presidential Polling

The latest poll, courtesy of Republican Rankings shows Sarah Palin leading the field of possible candidates for the 2012 Republican presidential primary:

Sarah Palin............31.41

Mike Huckabee.....30.03

Mitt Romney.........26.34

Tim Pawlenty..........8.94

Newt Gingrich.........2.05

John Thune..............1.33

This comes on the heels of the just released Newsmax-Zogby poll that has Sarah leading all comers nationally for the Republican nomination.

In the accompanying Newsmax article, Dick Morris is quoted as saying the winner of the 2012 Republican nomination will be the next President of the United States. This is assuming, of course, that Barack Obama is the democrat/communist party nominee, which, with his performance so far, is not a sure bet by any means.

This polling shows a continuing trend. Sarah Palin is solidly cementing her position as front runner 2012. Her continued hard work and strong vision for America is what has more and more Americans looking toward her for leadership in these troubled times.

Of course, her writings, such as this don’t hurt a bit!

My Favorite Sarah Palin Moment Is Her RNC Debut

There are so many special Sarah Palin moments that it is hard to choose just one. But if I had to choose, I think that I would choose her debut at the 2008 Republican convention. There she wowed 40 million viewers as she gave one of the most powerful political speeches on record.

Other than her superb performance, what was so special about then Governor Palin's RNC speech was the confidence she displayed in the face of a liberal media feeding frenzy that tried to discredit her practically from the moment she was announced as John McCain's running mate. Vicious rumors were swirling on the Internet, but Sarah Palin did not flinch.

Instead, she strode gracefully and confidently onto the platform and delivered one of the best political speeches of our lifetime. She masterfully delivered her speech with wit and humor. Even the malfunction of her teleprompter did not cause her to skip a beat. Who can ever forget her statement that the difference between a hockey mom and a pit bull is "lipstick"!

Afterwards, her beautiful family joined her on the stage along with the McCain clan. That was a memorable moment also. Little did anyone know then how viciously she and her family would be attacked over the months ahead and that these attacks would eventually lead to her resignation as governor.

But Sarah Palin's resignation as governor was not an end in itself but the launch of a greater role in the affairs of our country. She has stepped forward as a voice of opposition to efforts to dismantle our government and take away our freedoms. Sarah Palin is here to stay, and Sarah Palin supporters all over cannot wait to call her Madame President!

Jon Voight: Obama & Pelosi An Embarrassment Gov Palin Great Knowledge & Experience

Jon Voight tells us like it is on Obama, Pelosi and Governor Palin:

Demonizing histaria against Governor Palin comes from very fearful people who are trying to eradicate her triumphant strength & spirit. Her great moral understanding of how America must survive this onslaught of very biased weak left extremists. Her knowledge and experience in many endeavors especially in financing & exploring of oil and natural resources is very superior. I am sure she will have a great important future in our GOP. She is a great, great American.

Anklebiters...or Obama Operatives?

The following article provides a perspective on the anklebiter complaints that have been filed against Governor Palin by a group of Alaskan bloggers. Our author Gary did an excellent job identifying these bloggers and their connections in his previous post. We can only speculate where their funding comes from at this point, but when those dots are connected, it may be an eye opener. Listed beneath the article are several other articles that provide additional details about the anklebiter issue.

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin receives deluge of ethics complaints

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin’s life has changed in a myriad of ways since she became the Republican vice presidential nominee last August, but one aspect of her newfound fame has been more bracing than the others: Since entering the national spotlight, Palin has been inundated by ethics complaints, most of them filed against her after she agreed to become Sen. John McCain’s running mate.

The complaints run the gamut, ranging from the governor’s use of state funds and staff to the workings of her political action committee and even to a jacket she wore to a snow machine race involving her husband.

It’s difficult to pinpoint exactly how many complaints have been filed because the state doesn’t keep count and the complaints are kept confidential by the attorney general’s office unless the state moves forward with a public accusation of wrongdoing. But in total there have been more than a dozen, and most of those have surfaced in the last seven months.

That much is clear because the complainants have a habit of notifying the media and bloggers each time they lodge a grievance. It’s evidence, say Palin’s defenders, that there is a clear political component to them.

“As we've been saying, the number of ethics complaints filed against the governor and her staff — as well as the tortured logic they contain — continue to constitute the most disturbing trend in Alaska politics,” said Palin spokeswoman Sharon Leighow in a recent statement after one ostensibly confidential complaint was sent to the Anchorage Daily News and other news outlets.

“In the past several months, we have seen an orchestrated effort by the governor’s opponents to make differences of opinion and ideology almost criminal,” said Mike Nizich, the governor’s chief of staff, in a statement. “Governor Palin has spent a considerable amount of time and money fighting ethics complaints – and no charge has been substantiated. I hope that the publicity-seekers will face a backlash from Alaskans who have a sense of fair play and proportion. I served six previous governors, and I’ve never seen anything like the attacks against Gov. Palin.”

The deluge of complaints is, in part, a reflection of the ease with which they can be filed. Any Alaska resident can submit a complaint in writing as long as it is signed under oath and contains details of the alleged ethics violation.

Judy Bockmon, who as the state ethics attorney at the Alaska Department of Law conducts the initial review of all complaints, said the state doesn’t keep track of how many are filed. “It’s not information that is useful to anybody,” she said, adding that the number of complaints seems “unusual.”

Many of Palin's opponents have taken advantage of the low bar for filing and used it as a license to highlight their grievances with the governor.

“The number of complaints is a function of the misconduct of Governor Palin, Todd Palin and certain state workers,” said self-described government watchdog Andrée McLeod, who has filed four complaints alone. “Governor Palin constantly blurs the lines between her personal and political interests and the interests of Alaska and Alaskans. Alaskans are fed up and are finally doing something about it.”

Bob Stern, president of the Center for Governmental Studies, a California-based think tank that studies government reform and campaign finance issues, noted that Palin’s high-profile may be generating the extra scrutiny since Alaska’s ethics laws aren’t all that different than many other states.

‘It’s not just Alaska,” he said. “She’s an interesting official and attracts a lot of attention.”

Alaska Republican Party Chairman Randy Ruedrich, who tangled with Palin when both served on the state Oil and Gas Commission before she became governor, said Palin may be more susceptible to attacks on her ethics from opponents because she “raised the ethics issue years before she came into office and made a major point of working to change the state ethics laws and regulation.”

“Some of the complaints over the last several months have been frivolous,” he said, “but others have been brought about by the high level of interest in ethics issues around Palin.”

Former Alaska governors “all did extremely similar things” that did not lead to ethics complaints, Ruedrich added, referring to the number of complaints as “unprecedented.”

The business of defending against the claims has been expensive. In late April, Palin was forced to form a legal defense fund in an effort to pay for more than $500,000 in legal debts accrued by the governor — though much of it stems from the “Troopergate” episode surrounding her attempts to fire a state trooper who was once married to her sister.

"Over the past months it became increasingly clear that supporters of Gov. Palin needed to help defend against the onslaught of frivolous attacks against her,” said Trustee Kristan Cole, a Wasilla native and Palin friend, in a statement. “These baseless accusations are designed to inhibit her ability to focus on the issues Alaskans truly care about and force massive personal debt on her and her family.”

To avoid additional accusations of impropriety, the fund set an unusually low, self-imposed cap of $150 per donation. It also volunteered to disclose the names and dollar amounts of each donor, leading Cole to call it “one of the most restrictive and transparent legal funds in history.”

Three days later though, another ethics complaint was filed — this time against the legal defense fund itself.

An Eagle River resident who had recently joined a federal lawsuit against Palin for failing to issue a proclamation commemorating the Juneteenth emancipation holiday in 2007, complained that Palin is misusing her office and receiving improper gifts by setting up the fund, accusing the governor of intending to raise much more than she needs to pay her legal debts.

“Governor Palin has at least 500,000 supporters between her Facebook, TeamSarah and other groups in support of Sarah Palin,” the complaint read. “If each of them were to contribute an average of $100 it would equate to $50 million. If they contribute an average of $50 it equates to $25 million. If half of them send $10 it equals $2.5 million. That’s personal wealth created for Gov. Palin by putting a for sale sign on our Alaska Governor’s Office.”

June 18, 2009 Synopsis of Governor Palin's Accomplishments

A week-long webathon and human networking initiation is underway to raise $500,000 for Governor Palin's legal defense fund.

Petroleum News reported that Governor Palin's ACES tax formula benefits oil companies, the state, and its residents.

Governor Palin signed five pieces of legislation in Soldotna outlawing unwanted telephone solicitations to cellular phones; repealing day fines, extending an accountancy board, addressing predatory lending, and protecting insurance policy holders.

The Governor appointed Daniel S. Sullivan to be the state's new Attorney General. Confirmation hearing must be held in the 2010 legislative session.

Governor Palin spoke out against sexism and misogyny regarding lewd jokes made by TV comedian David Letterman. He has since apologized and Governor Palin has accepted the apology.

The Governor appointed a new trustee to Alaska's Permanent Fund.

TransCanada and ExxonMobil signed a partnership agreement to build a natural gas pipeline from Alaska's North Slope to Alberta, Canada so that Alaskan natural gas can be brought to market in the Lower 48. The partnership agreement is a product of Governor Palin's Alaska Gasline Inducement Act (AGIA).

Governor Palin was twice invited and dis-invited to speak at this fund-raising dinner for the GOP Senate and House campaign committees. Finally, she was invited to merely attend -- and attend she did....When Governor Palin arrived, everything stopped. As she walked across the stage, everyone cheered. Everyone gathered to be at her table. Everyone who could posed for pictures with her. Every camera near and far was locked in on her like a laser.

Governor Palin walked for Autism Speaks and attended a NY Yankees baseball game with former mayor Rudy Giuliani on the same day she received her Independent Group Home Living, Inc. award for defending those with special needs.
