Bristol Palin Stands Up and Does the Right Thing

Our support of Governor Palin extends to her family, friends, loved ones, and even her contractors. When we see her family is being wronged, we will address it. The world by now is well aware of the relationship between Bristol Palin and Levi Johnston; that their union resulted in a child; and that the relationship between Bristol Palin and Levi Johnston broke. We've all seen the salacious coverage of this matter. Some very simple points to keep in mind:

  • Bristol Palin is up for significant parts of the night caring for Tripp.
  • Bristol Palin goes to school and works to support Tripp.
  • Bristol Palin appropriately marshals the resources available to her (the Palins and Heaths) in caring for her child.
  • Bristol Palin has learned from her mistakes and has stood up and done the right thing.

This was discussed in her interview with Oprah Winfrey on Friday, January 22, 2010, and on other talk shows such as On the Record with Greta Van Susteren, and in print publications such as InTouch and People Magazine.

In contrast,

  • Levi Johnston is completely shirking his responsibilities as a father. He is providing nothing for Bristol and Tripp.
  • Levi Johnston is not doing any legitimate work.
  • Levi Johnston by posting for Playgirl engaged in acts of grave moral turpitude and disgraced himself as a father before an international audience.
  • Levi Johnston is being subsidized by the Roll Corporation, Rex Butler and Tank Jones for the sole and express purpose of bringing shame and embarrassment to the Palins, which has been discussed at significant length in prior entries by author Gary P. Jackson.

Bristol Palin took ownership and responsibility for her prior actions. She stood up and did the right thing, choosing life over a "more convenient alternative." Her entire focus now is on caring for her child, working, educating herself -- and she is refraining from new relationships for she wants nothing to interfere with her responsibilities. The differences between Bristol Palin and Levi Johnston could not be more stark.

With Bristol as his mother, and in the company of the Palins and Heaths, Tripp Johnston is a healthy, loving, and supportive environment.
