Governor Palin's Tweet to Kathleen
By Adrienne Ross - www.motivationtruth.com
Earlier today, Governor Palin tweeted:
This, of course, left people asking, "Who is Kathleen?" It is likely Governor Palin was speaking to a young girl from Michigan who has a brain disorder and was mocked over the Internet.
Deborah Hastings reports:
Jennifer Petkov admitted to posting the images on Facebook and said she did it for "personal satisfaction," knowing it "burns Rebecca Roses's a-- raw for me to make fun of her dead daughter on that page."
Although the Petkov family later apologized for their actions, one must wonder what kind of people would ever do such a thing in the first place?
It appears that Governor Palin, who has both talked about and lived out a real commitment to children, wanted to reach out with a message of love and faith for Kathleen and her family.
Josh Painter expresses one reason the Governor may have felt such a connection to the horrible way Kathleen was treated. He writes:
Much is spoken about Governor Palin's love for the great outdoors, love for the military, love for America. Even more is spoken about 2012 and about what she might do--will she run or won't she. Let the record show, however, in the midst of all the debate and all the speculation, more than weighing in on policy and political parties, more than using influence to impact the state of affairs in Washington, and more than being qualified to run this country, Governor Palin loves the most vulnerable among us. She advocates for them, does right by them, and even speaks to them. I join her in telling Kathleen Edward that America loves her, and I join her in lifting up prayers for this young girl. May God bless Kathleen and show her His incredible power--in Jesus' name.
Earlier today, Governor Palin tweeted:
We love you, love you, love you Kathleen... in Michigan! We pray for your health and happiness! (From your friends all across America.)
This, of course, left people asking, "Who is Kathleen?" It is likely Governor Palin was speaking to a young girl from Michigan who has a brain disorder and was mocked over the Internet.
Deborah Hastings reports:
Kathleen [Edward] is in the final stages of Huntington's disease, a genetic brain disorder that claimed the life of her 24-year-old mother, Laura, last year.
Jennifer and Scott Petkov have posted doctored images on Facebook of Laura in the arms of the Grim Reaper, and Kathleen's face above a set of crossbones. Neighbors also say the Petkovs built a coffin, put it on their truck and drove it up and down the street, honking the horn, ABC News said.
He writes:
Hence Gov. Palin's tweet. She knows all too well the kind of hatred that has been directed at little Kathleen and her mom. Trig Palin, the governor's youngest offspring and a Down Syndrome child, has been photoshopped on leftist websites as a storm trooper from "Star Wars" and as the devil -- everything, in fact, except a child of God. Some of the deranged Haterade drinkers, including The Atlantic's Andrew Sullivan, insist to this day that Trig is not Gov. Palin's child, despite not having even a shred of evidence to support their delusional charges.
So it's no wonder that little Kathleen would find a soft spot in the Mama Grizzy's heart.
Much is spoken about Governor Palin's love for the great outdoors, love for the military, love for America. Even more is spoken about 2012 and about what she might do--will she run or won't she.
