Sarah Palin: Commander-In-Chief

As we continue to look at all of the massive failures of the Obama regime in the aftermath of the Christmas Day attacks over American airspace, I keep going back to a simple Facebook note from Sarah Palin:

It’s War, not a Crime Spree

President Obama’s meeting with his top national security advisers does nothing to change the fact that his fundamental approach to terrorism is fatally flawed. We are at war with radical Islamic extremists and treating this threat as a law enforcement issue is dangerous for our nation’s security. That’s what happened in the 1990s and we saw the result on September 11, 2001. This is a war on terror not an "overseas contingency operation." Acts of terrorism are just that, not "man caused disasters." The system did not work. Abdulmutallab was a child of privilege radicalized and trained by organized jihadists, not an "isolated extremist" who traveled to a land of "crushing poverty." He is an enemy of the United States, not just another criminal defendant.

It simply makes no sense to treat an al Qaeda-trained operative willing to die in the course of massacring hundreds of people as a common criminal. Reports indicate that Abdulmutallab stated there were many more like him in Yemen but that he stopped talking once he was read his Miranda rights. President Obama’s advisers lamely claim Abdulmutallab might be willing to agree to a plea bargain – pretty doubtful you can cut a deal with a suicide bomber. John Brennan, the President’s top counterterrorism adviser, bizarrely claimed "there are no downsides or upsides" to treating terrorists as enemy combatants. That is absurd. There is a very serious downside to treating them as criminals: terrorists invoke their "right" to remain silent and stop talking. Terrorists don’t tell us where they were trained, what they were trained in, who they were trained by, and who they were trained with. Giving foreign-born, foreign-trained terrorists the right to remain silent does nothing to keep Americans safe from terrorist threats. It only gives our enemies access to courtrooms where they can publicly grandstand, and to defense attorneys who can manipulate the legal process to gain access to classified information.

President Obama was right to change his policy and decide to send no more detainees to Yemen where they can be free to rejoin their war on America. Now he must back off his reckless plan to close Guantanamo, begin treating terrorists as wartime enemies not suspects alleged to have committed crimes, and recognize that the real nature of the terrorist threat requires a commander-in-chief, not a constitutional law professor.

Obviously, it’s those final words, the fact that Obama needs to "....recognize that the real nature of the terrorist threat requires a commander-in-chief, not a constitutional law professor" are what stand out. This caused us to further discuss this in a piece called: President Obama To Sarah Palin: Where You Lead I Will Follow!

Not long after, Liz Cheney’s group Keep America Safe released this video that highlights just how dismal it all truly is for those of us who would actually like a President that cared about keeping us safe.







Pretty powerful statement. Remember how the democrat/communists and the media (yes, I know, same thing) were caterwauling because it took President George Bush a whole seven, eight minutes to respond to the attacks on September11, 2001?

If you remember, President Bush was in Florida reading a book to a group of school children when he was told. Now rather than run out, hair on fire in a panic, the President chose to calmly finish the last pages of the children’s book, then calmly excuse himself to handle things.

Obviously that was the right thing to do. Over the next few hours there would be plenty of fear, anger, and confusion. It would have been irresponsible on his part to add to it.

But to this day, the moonbats on the left whine about those seven or eight minutes.

Here we have a president that waited 97 hours before addressing what was the third high profile terrorist attack on American soil since taking office!

No way in hell was this guy about to have his vacation interrupted.

We’ve seen a radical Muslim terrorist kill a soldier at an Arkansas recruiting center, something the Obama friendly media rushed to cover up. Pamela Geller has the story though at her popular Atlas Shrugs website, here.

And of course, we’ve had Hassan, who was obviously an al Qaeda "sleeper" who killed our troops in the attacks at Ft Hood, Texas...the largest armored military base in the world. Obama and friends have rushed to quickly shove that story out of sight and out of mind.

Now we have the Eunuchbomber who was only a failed fuse away from not only killing everyone aboard the jetliner, but who knows how many hundreds, or thousands on the ground as this thing crashed into the densely populated area below.

Of course, Obama’s crack team were all on the job assuring us that "the system worked!" It would be great sketch comedy if this wasn’t serious business.

To say the system failed would be quite possibly the understatement of a lifetime. I mean the terrorists’s own father called and told us his son had been radicalized by the Religion of Piece!

This of course got me to reflecting on what a truly horrible, inept, and maybe indifferent Commander-In-Chief Obama is. I looked back at a couple of articles I wrote earlier as an example of the man’s unfitness for duty.

The first one involves the heralded and much celebrated Alaska Defense Force. This deal was so petty, that if I didn’t know better, I’d say this was a direct shot by Obama at Sarah Palin.

For those that don’t know, the Alaska Defense Force is a federally recognized militia, and part of Homeland Security’s planning. In practice, this is a voluntary militia that serves as reserve police

force in the state of Alaska, as well as a reserve military unit. They receive full military training, and are under the direct command and control of the Governor of Alaska.

This issue in question involves living ADF members who fought the Japanese in WWII. Alaska was invaded by the Japanese in WWII, and brave members of the ADF held them at bay. These brave men were mostly Native Alaskans, and they fought without receiving any paid compensation whatsoever.

For years Alaskans had fought to, at the very least, get these brave men some retirement money from the government. They finally succeeded.

Early in the year, Barack Obama put a halt to this.

As the McClatchy New Service reported at the time:

WASHINGTON -- In a strongly worded message to Congress outlining its priorities for a military spending bill, the Obama administration today said it disapproved of including money for pensions for 26 elderly members of the World War II-era Alaska Territorial Guard.

The Guardsmen are among those assigned to protect Alaska from the Japanese during World War II.

The Army decided this year to no longer count service in the Guard in calculating the military's 20-year minimum for retirement pay, although it still counts for military benefits. As a result, their pensions were decreased in January.

An estimated 300 members are still living from the original 6,600-member unit formed in 1942 to protect Alaska, then a territory, from attack. The 26 men have enough other military service to reach the 20-year minimum for retirement pay but would lose it if the Territorial Guard service doesn't count.

A Senate military spending bill up for a vote in the Senate allows the former Guard members count their service as part of active military duty, and it reinstates the payments.

State lawmakers passed a bill earlier this year to fill the pay gap until Congress made a permanent fix, but the White House said Friday it didn't think it was "appropriate to establish a precedent of treating service performed by a state employee as active duty for purposes of the computation of retired pay."

Sen. Lisa Murkowski, who along with Sen. Mark Begich, D-Alaska, sponsored the fix, called the administration move "deeply disappointing, bordering on insensitive." The legislation honors 26 elderly Native people who are the few remaining survivors of a military unit that served the country with valor, Murkowski said.

"The administration's justification, which is that the legislation will set the precedent of treating service as a state employee as federal service, defies logic and history," she said in a statement. "Sixty-two years after the Territorial Guard was disbanded, the Obama administration minimizes the contribution of this gallant unit to America's success in World War II by calling its service 'state service.' "

At the time, I added this to our reporting: "For her part, Governor Sarah Palin, in her role as Commander-in-Chief of the Alaska Defense Force, a modern day equivalent to the Territorial Guard, signed SB 89 which funded, these pensions until 2010."

This was Sarah doing what a Commander-in-Chief does, taking care of her troops.

For Sarah, as well as both Alaska Senators and the one Congressman from Alaska all teamed up to fight this. We learned just before Christmas that the efforts of all had paid off, and they had defeated Obama’s attempts to deny these brave men their due.

Alaska Territorial Guard Wins!

While I am not pleased with some of the enormous and even reckless spending our government seems to be determined to push forward, I received via Facebook and Rep. Don Young's site notification that H.R. 3326 has passed. The price tag for this is $636 billion, which is nothing to laugh at, but it secures several things in the area of defense, one of which is the status of the remaining Alaska Territorial Guard members.

As you may remember and have read in previous blog posts on this site (here and here)the Alaska Territorial Guard's status has been in question and those who had received retirement benefits in the past were at risk for no longer receiving them. While still in office, Gov. Sarah Palin assured this group the State of Alaska would continue their benefits until the issue was resolved. With today's vote, according to Rep. Young's site, H.R. 3326 "Clarifies the military status of World War II Alaska Territorial Guardsmen as active service for the purposes of retirement."

This is a very small portion of this bill and I for one am glad that those involved included language in this legislation that protects the benefits so deserved of these brave men

Here is the letter that Sarah wrote Obama concerning this:

Dear Mr. President:

It was with great concern that I learned of the recent decision by the Department of Defense to rescind the program that currently provides retirement payments to veterans of Alaska's Territorial Guard (ATG). This unfortunate decision was made without any notice to those affected and will cost a group of elderly Alaska veterans a significant portion of their retirement income at a time when the cost of living, particularly in rural Alaska, is substantially higher than in the rest of the United States.

In 2004, Congress fully vetted this issue and decided that service in the ATG was the same as military service. This is the right and proper way to honor these brave individuals who answered the call of duty during times of great national peril.

Prior to World War II, Alaska's territorial Governor was authorized by Congress to organize a two-branch military response organization - the organized National Guard, and the ATG, which would mobilize to help defend Alaskans in the event of an invasion. An estimated 6,600 men and women, mostly Alaska Indians, Eskimos, and Aleuts, responded to that calL Instead of hunting, trapping and fishing, they patrolled rural Alaska and served as the eyes and ears of the Army for more than five years without pay and benefits.

It took our nation almost 60 years to have these defenders of our territory honored for their time in the ATG, and for their service to be counted the same as federal military service. While most died waiting for their recognition, some have survived to receive their honorable discharge from the United States Army.

Now they are being told, again, that their ATG service is not worthy of federal recognition, and that is not right.

These people are our heroes.

The stellar service of these mostly rural, mostly Native, soldiers is to Alaska today what the service of the militia at Lexington and Concord was to New England.

I urge you to remember all that these valiant members of the ATG sacrificed while defending this country and ask that you reconsider this decision and immediately reinstate the retirement benefits that Congress already recognized in 2004 and that these heroes have certainly earned.

This was Sarah Palin again doing what a Commander-in-Chief does, taking care of her troops!

In another piece, that just happened to involve Alaska, as Obama stopped there on his way to kick off his "Bow to the World’s Other Leaders Tour"in Asia, to refuel Air Force One. This time Obama refused to be filmed with an Air Force F-22 Raptor, the pride of Elmendorf AFB.

This was a real slap in the face to the brave men and women who serve there, and around the world. Of course, this was all political because Obama was one of the ones behind the efforts to kill off the F-22.

We wrote about this in a piece called Pathetic: Barack Obama Refused To Be Photographed With F-22 Fighter.

Obviously, Obama is not all that fond of the military. Of course, he’s not wild about the CIA either. I still haven’t heard him address the attack on one of our key CIA stations, or the deaths of those brave agents.

As we are talking Commanders-in-Chief, I thought it would be nice to offer some contrast. We wrote a piece back in June, The ‘Cuda Goes to Kosovo that talks about her trip to visit her troops.




By now we have all witnessed how Obama acts around the troops, and it’s rather obvious how he feels about them, and well...the American people...since he obviously isn’t all that into the whole "national security thing" especially if it is going to cut into his Hawaiian vacation time! Got get that golfing in, no matter what!

We wrote another story about Sarah welcoming home her son Track and the rest of his Stryker Brigade Combat Team from Iraq this past Fall. Sarah was honored as the Brigade’s "senior mom." You can read about it all here.

As Commander-in-Chief, Sarah Palin attended every deployment ceremony and was at the airport to great every returning group of soldiers, personally thanking them for their service and sacrifice to this great nation.

One has to ask, looking at how these two have conducted themselves as Commanders-in-Chief, looking at their actual record and performance, just who would you want to be your Commander-in-Chief?

It's happening again. Once again the media, liberal left and former McCain campaign advisers are out and about spreading false information and lies about Sarah Palin. It was no secret this would happen. Even before Sarah announced her plans to write a book, these groups were traveling down the vengeful path of attempting to destroy Sarah and her family's good name. Levi Johnston has even gotten into the mix. Now, while I have made it a rule not to discuss Levi on my blog, I will only use him as an example to illustrate the fact that the liberal msm are using him to further their assault on the Palins. What does this say about the media? What does this say about the state the media find themselves in today? In the words of Sean Hannity, "Journalism is dead." This is hard for me to fathom. As someone who studied journalism, I learned about what journalism should be, not about what it has become. How ironic that the msm go after and wrongly attack a woman who was once a journalist herself? Shame on the msm for attacking a woman for exercising her right to freedom of speech. There is a valid answer for this in that they believe in the need and power of free speech just as long as they agree with what is being said. When Sarah speaks out against the Obama Administration, the in-the-tank-for-Obama media see this as a threat to its Pro-Obama message. Since they see Sarah as a threat, they will do everything in their power to discredit her even if this means reporting erroneous stories and showing photoshopped pictures, which happens to be their latest stunt.


Just the other day, I happened to be watching the news and sipping on my morning cup of coffee, when I began to channel surf. I immediately stopped surfing when I saw an image of Sarah appear on the television screen. Dylan Ratigan of MSNBC was doing a report on Sarah and while the report was not the worst I had seen come from this liberal network, it was the photos this network chose to show of Sarah that were clearly unfair given two of them were not of Sarah herself, but instead photoshopped images. You all probably know of the photos I'm referring to. One of the photoshopped pictures had Sarah's head placed on an image of a flag-bikini-clad woman. The other photo had Sarah's head placed on an image of a woman in a black mini-skirt. Not only was this wrong of Ratigan and MSNBC, but it is extremely sexist and once again clearly illustrates the double standard of treatment conservative women receive when compared to their liberal counterparts. MSNBC had to have known these photos were photoshopped. These two photos were proven fake months ago. Once again, MSNBC is illustrating just how out of touch and bias it really is. I urge you to hold Ratigan and MSNBC accountable. Voice your outrage here on Ratigan's Twitter page. We need to continue to hold the media accountable, and let them know that we are on to their game and will not stand for false, biased reporting.


Over the course of the next few weeks, be prepared for an onslaught of attacks aimed at Sarah as she travels across America meeting average-day "Mainstreet U.S.A." folks like you and me. The media, liberal left and so-called McCain advisers have already ramped up their attacks of Sarah in an attempt to cover their hides, which is why you see these individuals doing everything in their power to place the blame on her. The Steve Schmidts and Nicolle Wallaces of this world are obviously going to try to blame Sarah when we all know that they are really the individuals whom should be blamed. While we Sarah supporters know this to be the case, others are beginning to see the light as well. I'm sure it is no surprise to you to learn people's belief in the overall credibility of the media is at an all-time low. It is not hard to see why when you have examples like the MSNBC report above.


MSNBC is not the only media outlet to pull outlandish shenanigans. We have seen biased reporting from every medium whether it be print or broadcast. Most recently, the Associated Press (AP) did one of the most unethical things in the history of journalism, although you wouldn't even know they had done anything of the sort because the liberal msm refuses to report it. The AP wrongfully got a hold of an advance copy of Sarah's book, but the story doesn't end there. They, then, put 11 so-called "fact checkers" to work to make sure the book was fully accurate, and now, they have resulted to reporting false information. Give me a break. This further illustrates how much of a joke the msm have become. Sarah isn't letting them off the hook. Here's the Facebook note she posted yesterday morning regarding the incident:

I'll give you a scoop here and tell you what's on the book's Dedication Page - it's dedicated to you - Patriots - who love the U.S.A. as much as I do.

Amazingly, but not surprisingly, the AP somehow nabbed a copy of the book before it was released. They're now erroneously reporting on the book's contents and are repeating many of the same things they spewed during the campaign and afterwards. We've heard 11 writers are engaged in this opposition research, er, "fact checking" research! Imagine that - 11 AP reporters dedicating time and resources to tearing up the book, instead of using the time and resources to "fact check" what's going on with Sheik Mohammed's trial, Pelosi's health care takeover costs, Hasan's associations, etc. Amazing.

We'll keep setting the record straight, and we'll keep reminding some in the media that Americans are very tired of their non-objective reporting. A great, recent post that accomplishes this is a Conservatives4Palin post. It's got some nice fact checking included. As always, they did a great job holding some of the media accountable for spreading more misinformation and for making things up. You can read it here. Enjoy!

Sarah is right!!! We ALL need to continue to hold the media accountable. It is important, now more than ever, that we be on the lookout for inaccurate, biased reporting. Remember, we are a strong and proud army of Palin supporters. Together, we can accomplish just about anything. As Sarah travels the country, many of you will have the opportunity to meet her and shake her hand. Make sure to tell her "thank you" for everything she has done for our country and for everything she will continue to do. She has inspired so many, and the very mention of her name sparks fear in the minds of the left. Whenever they make fun of her, call her unintelligent or misinformed, know this is code-speak for the fear they have of her. More and more individuals are coming around and realizing the power she holds. Rush Limbaugh believes in her, and just yesterday in an interview with FNC's Chris Wallace, Liz Cheney voiced her belief in Sarah. Yep, Sarah is continuing to be the powerful force we all knew she would be. Was there ever any doubt? NO. Like you, I will waiting impatiently like a child on Christmas Eve for my gift to arrive in the mail. And I can't wait to discuss Sarah's book with others who are reading it too. I encourage you all to follow Sarah on her Twitter account as she shares what life is like on the book-tour trail. Kinda brings back familiar memories of life on the campaign trail except for one important detail: This time, Sarah's in charge, and this time, she's GOING ROGUE!!! WOOO HOOO!!! Dick And Liz Cheney, The Dynamic Duo

As we saw this week, the death of conservatism in America has been greatly exaggerated!

What America witnessed this week was a true American statesman at work. Actually, two great statesmen. The second being a woman, and daughter of the first.

This week, former Vice President Dick Cheney took on the President of the United States, Barack Obama, in a serious national security debate. And Mr Cheney made Mr Obama look small, and petty.

To fully grasp how Mr Cheney has changed the debate in America, one has to realize that his speech, which had been scheduled for some time, had the Obama team so flustered, they had to rush like a bunch of grade schoolers to try and preempt Mr Cheney!

Real rookie stuff!

By doing this, Mr Obama instantly made what Mr Cheney was doing just that much more important.

And the Obama team did it up right. They marched the President down to the National Archives, in front a copy of the Constitution, for goodness sakes! That back drop reminded me of the ridiculousness back in 2000, when Al Gore was trying to steal the Florida election, and every time he came out, he had more and more US flags staged around him, making sure he always had a greater number than George Bush did, when he spoke! Well, the echoing sounds of the National Archives aside, Mr Obama just looked small.

As always, Mr Obama can say absolutely nothing, better than any man alive, but, that’s exactly what he did say, absolutely nothing. Oh, he did his usual hand wringing and of course blamed everything on President Bush and others, something he pathologically does on a daily basis, But he said nothing else.

What Mr Obama, and the rest of the misguided left don’t seem to understand, is the “problem” with Guantanamo Bay, is all their fault! There is no sane reason on earth to close it, but, this rookie president, on his second day in office, stepped right in it, with both feet!

The far left in this country pretty much hates America, and everything about her. They perceive America as a bad place. A place that should be punished for her ills. The left, including President Obama see a moral equivalency between blood thirsty savages, who murder innocents at the drop of a hat, and American service men and women. In fact, the Obama cabal sees a moral equivalency between the terrorists, and average Americans.

Fast forward a few minutes, and Americans were treated to a speech given by an adult. A sober, calm, adult. No grandiose setting, no campaign style rhetoric. Just a good meat and potatoes speech that laid out Mr Cheney’s case, in terms that any red blooded American could understand, and appreciate.

Mr Cheney hit a home run. He won the debate, and totally knocked President Obama off the mound. Even the dishonest U.S. media couldn’t spin this one in Mr Obama’s favor!

But, Dick Cheney’s speech was just part of the excitement!

The most fun I’ve had in weeks, on the political observation front, was watching Liz Cheney, the former Vice President’s daughter.

Oh wow!

Liz Cheney has her fathers strength, her father’s guts, and her mother’s grace. Liz Cheney is a warrior!

Now, of course, she made the obligatory appearances on Fox News, where of course she was treated with respect. Not a hard job. But where Liz shined was by doing what she does best. She went into the belly of the beast, the most dishonest news group in America, NBC.

For those that haven’t figured it out, NBC, and MSNBC, are owned by General Electric, and GE CEO Jeffrey Immelt is one of Barack Obama’s advisors. This of course, makes NBC/MSNBC wholly subservient to President Obama, and the DNC.

So, it was great fun to watch Liz Cheney put on a clinic on how to take apart left wing talkers. I mean she was incredible. No matter what sort of insane, out in left field talking point these left wingers threw at her, she just did her own deal. She was tough, smart, and best of all, when they said something stupid, which was quite often, Liz simply refused to accept the premise of their question!

It was brilliant!

I’ve written before that one of the biggest problems with today’s Republicans, is they accept the democrat’s ideas, and then try to bring the “Republican way” to the table when they discuss them. The only way to describe this is sheer stupidity.

From total stupidity, like so called “global warming” and all of the schemes the liberals bring to the table surrounding that nonsense, to their attempts to destroy the best health care on earth, to their childishness on foreign affairs, Republicans could really learn something from Liz Cheney!

When liberals are saying dumb things, simply refuse to play!

Global warming? Simply use your brain, and explain to them what normal people already know: It’s a hoax, a hoax designed to make a lot of people, like Al Gore and General Electric, a lot of money.

The same tactics can be used when discussing health care, real energy exploration, illegal immigration, and so on.


The thing America saw this past week though, that really excites me, is this: America saw real leadership!

Dick Cheney and Liz Cheney are leaders, in every sense of the word.

The former Vice President, who is now a private citizen, saw a grave injustice being perpetrated on the American people, and as leaders do, stood up, and took the problem head on.

Even more exciting, Liz Cheney also took up the fight, and showed the world how it is done!

To paraphrase the great Ronald Reagan, it’s not that are moderate friends are ignorant, it’s just they know so much that isn’t so!

Folks that know me, know I have little use for moderates. I have even less use for the moderate “republicans”. I have written extensively about the damage the moderates have done to the party. I have written extensively about how moderates are incapable of winning national elections.

And yet, the Republican party is so bound and determined to commit suicide by moderate.

Of course, a lot of this is because moderates crave attention, and “love” from the media. And the media is more than happy to feed their egos. Your average democrat may not be all that bright, but the leaders of the party understand that a moderate is quite easy to beat. It’s why they were all John McCain’s best buddy, until he ran for President, that is!

Now we have the dishonest media trotting out people like Colon Powell, who endorsed, and voted for, Barack Obama, as well as people like Meghan McCain, who also generally votes democrat. The media is telling America that we must listen to democrats to tell us what the Republican party should be! It would be laugh out loud funny, if it weren’t for the fact that many in our party actually believe this nonsense.

Dick Cheney and Liz Cheney, in one short week, have shown the rest of the Republican party what leadership is all about. Leadership is not becoming moderate, or “democrat lite”. True leadership is about being bold. True leadership is about actually believing in something, and willing to risk everything to see it through!

We have few members of our party who are willing to take the heat by standing up for something. For being a leader. Of course, for those who do, the rewards are there!

Who are some of the most respected people in the Republican party? Here’s a clue, they are all conservatives!

Dick Cheney has seen his personal approval numbers rise greatly by speaking up. Liz Cheney has been praised far and wide.

Then there is Governor Sarah Palin. Governor Palin never, ever backs down from a fight. Frankly, with the sort of dishonest harassment the democrat party, and the left wing crazies have put Governor Palin through, no one would blame her if she laid low. But leaders don’t do that. True leaders, who believe in themselves, and their cause, cannot, and will not be stopped!

No matter what they throw at Sarah Palin, she just slaps it away, like King Kong swatting airplanes from atop the Empire State Building!

Note to the GOP: This is what leadership looks like!

The Grand Old Party needs to wake up, and understand that the people of America want a leader!

Currently, America is leaderless. We have a prepackaged, store bought image, in the White House. We have a relative child running the country. Mr Obama has never run a city, never run a state, and never even run a lemonade stand before now. He’s never had a private sector job. He’s never had to make payroll. He’s never had to balance a budget.

Of course, all of this shows in the direction America is heading.

The majority of Americans are fed up with all politicians. They are fed up with President Obama, and even more fed up with Congress, and they are totally fed up with both political parties, because there are no real leaders.

For the first time in history, most people self identify as independents! The dishonest news loves to say that the number of self proclaimed Republicans is way down, but what they leave out, is the fact the democrat party is losing members twice as fast!

This is the time for the Republican party to go back to it’s conservative roots. This is a time for the Republican party to step back into it’s leadership role!

But you won’t do it with the milquetoast, country club blue blood, democrat lite, moderates!

These are times that call for bold leadership. As Ronald Reagan would say, we need bright colors, no pale pastels! We need big ideas! Ideas that will put America back on top where she belongs.

We need a real economic plan that won’t destroy America forever, like Mr Obama’s plan.

We need to reduce the size of government, all government. Not create a socialist dreamland that Mr Obama and his minions are moving toward. In fact, there are many, many programs the federal government was never intended to be involved in. The number of out of control government agencies created in just my lifetime are staggering.

So, we need small government. We need to return the powers back to the states, as prescribed in the Constitution.

We need a real energy policy, one based on actually creating more energy, not some pie in the sky, scheme designed to make the dishonest warmongers money, and bankrupt the common man!

We have more oil and natural gas than we can use in several generations. We have more coal than the Middle East has oil. And we have completely forgotten about an incredibly efficient energy source, nuclear.

We need a real plan to save Social Security and Medicare.

We need a plan to make our health care, the best health care on earth, more affordable. One based on free market principles and tort reform.

We need a sane policy to stop illegal immigration. One that finally closes our borders, enforces the laws already on our books, and restores the rule of law.


All in all, this will take bold, solid leadership. This week two such leaders showed you the way!

If the GOP wants to survive, we need more leaders like Dick and Liz Cheney, and Governor Sarah Palin. Anything less, and we will remain a minority party forever!

It is a time for choosing.
