Meghan McCain Writes About Governor Palin

John McCain's daughter, Meghan, has released her new book, Dirty Sexy Politics. She appeared on Good Morning America yesterday to discuss it, but George Stephanopoulos's interview questions focused mainly on Governor Palin and the 2008 campaign. You can watch that interview here.

In her book--and in the interview--Meghan McCain managed to point out something that many of McCain's campaign staffers weren't honest enough to admit but even semi-observant people always knew: McCain's loss was not Governor Palin's fault. The Associated Press reports:

In the end, she writes, her father lost because "Obama was unbeatable" — the electorate and the news media were too enamored with a fresh new face who represented a monumental change from then-President George W. Bush.

McCain also acknowledges:

She brought so much momentum and enthusiasm to the campaign. You saw crowds double and you saw a lot more women coming to the rallies.

That's an understatement, but kudos to Meghan for stating the obvious.

Speaking of women, Meghan states:

I respect her as a feminist, a Republican feminist--going out there and working for women, especially Republican women.

While I'm glad to see that Meghan fesses up to Governor Palin's magnetism and feminism, other comments she makes need to be addressed. She writes in her book that the Palins are "nice and down-to-Earth" but also writes that the Governor snubbed her mother, Cindy McCain, and wasn't a team player. She goes on to call Governor Palin "the Time Bomb," and says she was always expecting her to explode.

Now, which was it? Was Governor Palin a down-to-Earth woman with the incredible ability to connect to other women, or was she a volatile snob who refused Cindy's attempts to draw close? Maybe Meghan's contradictory statements can be blamed on the "conflicting feelings" she confesses to having about Governor Palin.

Furthermore, are we really to believe that the same woman who has never uttered a negative word about John McCain, even when people have tried to coax her into it, snubbed the closest woman to him--his wife? Governor Palin, who was given hell by those who somehow expected her to abandon Senator McCain in his re-election bid, rather than endorse and stump for him, turned up her nose at Cindy and didn't play nice? I'm not buying what Meghan is selling.

In all fairness to Meghan, though, she was even younger and more immature two years ago--to the point, mind you, that she was asked to leave her own father's campaign--or take a bus. So perhaps her youth and banishment had an impact on her interpretation of matters. However, in the interest of truth, I'd rather take a look at what the two mature women have said about each other. The following was reported during the campaign:

"She is marvelous and I just have such great respect for her...She has done nothing but help this ticket," McCain, wife of GOP presidential candidate John McCain, says on CNN's "Larry King Live.

King asks whether Palin has received a "bad rap."

"Oh yes...McCain replies."

Apparently she's still getting somewhat of a bad rap--from Cindy's daughter.

Let's not forget that Governor Palin had a few things to say about Cindy McCain in her best-seller, Going Rogue. On page 210, she writes:

As Cindy and I talked, I was pleased to find that this elegant, beautiful woman was really a down-to-earth mom who is as crazy about her kids as every other mom.

So that makes two down-to-earth women.

On page 221, the Governor writes:

I looked up to see Cindy walking down from the house to join us. She is one of the most striking women I've ever seen, and that day she reminded me of one of those perfect, elegant moms on a 1950s TV show: a sleeeveless dress, a little sweater, not a hair out of place. So petite and pretty, with those intense blue eyes. I remember her clothes because I was there in my let's-discuss-the-issues suit while she breezed across the lawn like a walking summer day.

This doesn't sound at all like someone with disdain for Cindy McCain.

Governor Palin continues on page 221 to defend Cindy against those who say she is actually somewhat distant:

Yes, she can be guarded. But who can blame her? It's no wonder that people like Cindy, who are unfairly clobbered in the press with lies about them and their family, appear to say, "Forget it, I'm here to help, but I'm not going to offer myself up anymore."

In Cindy's case, the press had been pretty merciless over the years.

Governor Palin clearly speaks up for Cindy and calls out those who do what Meghan accuses the Governor of doing.

One can beg to differ, and I mean no disrespect to Meghan, but I'll take Governor Palin's words over the words of Meghan McCain any day.

I'm grateful that Meghan admitted the selection of Governor Palin as John McCain's running mate ignited the campaign, that she helped women become engaged in politics, and that she's a bonafide feminist. Much appreciated. However, those comments don't excuse the claims of snobbery, anger, and aloofness she makes--and must not go unchallenged.

We are winding down a very busy Primary Day. Governor Palin has given her support to a few candidates who, along with the rest of us, are awaiting the day's results. It should be quite interesting.

She endorsed the following:

Pam Bondi: Attorney General - Florida

Paul Gosar: U.S. Congress - Arizona

John McCain: U.S. Senate - Arizona

Palin writes op-ed about the maverick of the Senate

Sen. John McCain is facing the hardest election fight of his Senate career as he faces off against J.D. Hayworth, former congressman and conservative talk radio host, who claims McCain is too moderate for Arizona Republicans. Because of the tough fight, Sarah Palin is lending her star power to the man who chose her to be his running mate.

Palin appeared with McCain for the first time Friday at a campaign rally since the pair lost the 2008 presidential election. Many were looking forward to the speech Palin gave, but the former governor also wrote an op-ed in Friday's Arizona Republic, asking supporters to send John McCain back to the United States Senate.

"It was one of my life's greatest privileges to serve as Sen. John McCain's running mate on the 2008 Republican ticket as he sought to lead us as president of the United States," Palin wrote. "And it's an honor to stand beside him now as he runs for re-election to the United States Senate."

The op-ed titled, "A Desire to Serve Defines McCain," examines the maverick of the Senate and points out some of the qualities Palin observed as they traveled across the country together.

"In 2008, I firmly believed that John McCain was the right man for America," Palin said. "Today, I know he's the right man for Arizona. Your state deserves more than rhetoric; you deserve a leader with a real record of accomplishment. That's why, on behalf of Sen. McCain, I'm asking for your vote. For the good of our entire country and the future of your state, please send John McCain back to the United States Senate."

Governor Palin Handles Heckler (Video Included)

This morning Governor Palin dealt handily with a heckler as she was speaking at a McCain Rally in Mesa, AZ. The man had to be removed from the event. This is interesting in light of the fact that dishonest people are accusing Gov. Palin and tea partiers of being boisterous, inappropriate, and violent.

The governor told the man to listen and perhaps he'd learn something, but he refused to shut up long enough to learn a thing. She then reminded the crowd that Senator McCain, as a tortured POW, paid the price for that heckler to have the right to protest.

Too bad he couldn't have found a more respectful, constructive way to express whatever disagreement he had. His behavior sort of puts things in perspective, though, doesn't it?

Governor Palin Stumps for Senator McCain (Video Included)

Senator John McCain introduced Governor Sarah Palin to the national political stage on August 29, 2008 in Dayton, Ohio when he tapped her to be his running mate. One might say he put her on the map, although she was already serving, governing, and reforming in the state of Alaska with an exemplary approval rating. Much has happened since then. Today, upon the request of the senator, she introduced him in Arizona when she stumped for him in his quest to hold on to his Senate seat.

Governor Palin did exactly what she did during the presidential campaign: she drew a huge crowd, she praised John McCain, and she energized the American people.

During her speech today, she also took on the recent bogus accusations that tea partiers are advocating violence. She distilled this nonsense to "bs coming from the lamestream media." You betcha! Just more of the same Left wing tactics--which will not work.

Feminists: Anti-Conservative Women!!! A Post by Conservative Girl with a Voice

I am sure you are aware that, over the weekend, D-List Actress Kathy Griffin made some very vulgar comments about Sarah Palin, including one comment in which she said Sarah performed a sex act on John McCain when they first met. I don't know what she considers comedy, but it is VERY obvious to me that a joke like that is NEVER funny no matter who says it. Regular readers of my blog are well aware that I am not afraid to call it like I see it. My regular readers also know that I am not afraid to call individuals and groups out when they DON'T act accordingly. It seems to me that Kathy Griffin is a lost cause. While I am angered at the comments she made and continues to make at Sarah's expense, it is not surprising seeing that she is an attention-seeking-walking disaster whose only claim to fame seems to be as Levi Johnston's sad excuse for a date.

Again, I find myself asking: "Where are the NOW women?" "Where are the other feminist groups?" After all, these groups seem to preach female empowerment and equal rights, yet fail to act when one of their own sex is attacked. This is the reason why I strongly believe these so-called feminists are the most cowardly, hypocritical individuals on the face of the earth. Have they ever caused me to view them differently? NO! I am sick and tired of feminist groups picking and choosing whom they will defend. I was a guest on Eddie Burke's show yesterday. As we were discussing this issue, Eddie brought up a great point in that if Michelle Obama or Hillary Clinton were the individuals being attacked, the press would hear from these groups in a heartbeat. While it is clear that they would immediately jump to Michelle and Hillary's defense, once again, they stand silent while Sarah is blatantly and unfairly attacked. Shame on them for not doing what so many of us do on a daily basis. When it comes to defending one of my fellow women, I see no color; I see no party. I simply see a fellow woman who is being treated unfairly and unjustly. This is a common sense response that the NOW women seem to ignore, or are just simply too blind to see.

Yet again, we see the difference between the treatment conservative women and liberal women receive. These feminazis are too proud and afraid- yes afraid- to do the right thing. While they are too wrapped up in their own feminist bubble to realize their actions, I am not. There are many individuals like me out there who are not afraid to call these groups out. The more I read and hear about NOW and others who describe themselves as "feminists," the more I question just how pro-women they really are. In the end, it is clear that feminist groups want nothing to do with empowering women, and everything to with pushing their own agenda and only supporting women who represent this agenda. Their motto seems to have become: "Stand with us or else- others WILL attack you." Yep, just another day in the life of so-called women's rights groups.

Kathy Griffin, Unfunny and Un-American

Kathy Griffin may have been invited to the state of Alaska to perform "comedy," but she certainly wasn't invited to Governor Palin's home, which is where she showed up nonetheless--something law-abiding citizens call trespassing. Supposedly, her purpose in walking past a number of "No trespassing" signs on the Palin property was to invite her to the show.

The absurdity of that invitation is only more obvious now that details of the routine have been released, the least of which is that this is the same show where Levi Johnston introduced Griffin. That fact speaks volumes in and of itself.

The most disgusting part of Griffin's routine was her scurrilous comment that Senator McCain picked Governor Palin to be his running mate after she performed a certain sex act on him. I am choosing not to link to the video, as it is rife with vulgarity and Palin Derangement Syndrome symptoms well beyond the pale.

Under the guise of comedy, this lady--and I use the term loosely--comes to the state where Governor Palin was elected and served, then commences to spew sexist venom, suggesting that the governor's selection as the VP nominee could not possibly be because she was qualified. Governor Palin, whose resume includes city council member, mayor, oil and gas regulator, and governor with an approval rating of 93% at one point, was not tapped for her experience and expertise, but because she prostituted herself. Mind you, this is the same nominee who had more executive experience than anyone else on either ticket, but Griffin would have us believe that she "performed" her way into the senator's good graces.

Furthermore, Griffin's comment suggests that Senator McCain, an American hero who displayed incredible commitment to his country, who went through torture of a magnitude most of us will never even wrap our brains around, suddenly had such little regard for his country that one sex act was the deciding factor in who would join him in serving the America he loves and sacrificed so much for.

And this is supposed to be funny?

No matter your political party or your obsession with all things Palin--something Griffin admits to--relegating those who have served their states and their nation to positions of prostitute and john, just to get a few laughs from a few like-minded perverts, is not only unfunny; it's un-American.

Hypocrisy in America! A Post by Conservative Girl with a Voice

I am sure I don't have to preach to you about the hypocrisy of the left. You see and hear it everywhere, right? In this age of Obama, it seems as if everyone is open to criticism EXCEPT the Democrats. In today's random thought post, I wanted to write about a recent episode of hypocrisy from the liberal left. It is no secret the Democrats are attempting to push through a heath care bill that, if passed, would be disastrous to America and everything she stands for. I am all for health care reform, and I believe there are many aspects that need to be fixed, but putting our health solely into the hands of the government is NOT the answer.

Just this past weekend, President Obama underwent his first physical since becoming commander in chief. While his doctor informed the public that Mr. Obama is in good health and "fit for duty," I found some of the doctor's findings interesting. Mr. Obama and his wife repeatedly push the need for "preventative care." While Mr. Obama and his wife push for this, Americans learned this weekend that our president had not had a physical since 2007- three years ago. As a strict constitutionalist, I believe people should be left alone as much as possible, but I also believe it is fair to call someone out when the person preaches the need to take a certain action, but fails to perform the action himself. President Obama: "Isn't the whole idea of this preventative care notion that you talk about mean that you need to see a doctor regularly? I'm just saying..." Usually, I do not care about when a president last went to the doctor if he is doing his job adequately. Although I feel this way, I do believe I have a right as an American to call out an individual who seems intent the wanting the government to run our lives for us. So, Mr. President, shouldn't you take some advice from Sarah Palin. She has no problem talking the talk and walking the walk. Maybe it's time you do the same. Remember during the campaign when the media repeatedly called for Sarah to release her health records? Brian Williams even asked Sarah about it during an interview. This same media that felt privy to call Sarah out now sits silent, but what else do you expect from a media that gets tingles up their legs and hot flashes on a regular basis.

Then, again, this is the Obama Administration we are talking about. An administration that sees itself as standing tall above all of us mere mortals. The hypocrisy of this situation doesn't end here. Michelle Obama's mission to end childhood obesity seems like a saintly cause, but once again illustrates the administration's attempt to control Americans. I believe Sarah said it best when she recently wrote that the administration could save a lot of money if it would just let parents BE parents. It is none of government's business what we feed our children. Parents know best what is good for their children. Sane individuals know best how to effectively live their lives. When the government intervenes and comes in between parents and children, this is crossing the line and opening the door to more government control. Once the government crosses the threshold of the home, where is the line drawn?

Throughout the entire 2008 Presidential Campaign, liberals pundits and members of the so-called media elite repeatedly questioned John McCain's health and Sarah's readiness should McCain win and become president, but get ill or die during his presidency. While they looked at McCain's age as a factor, it was his history of skin cancer that drew the most red flags from liberals. I still remember all of the ridiculous reports that I heard and read time and time again. There was no doubt that John McCain had the drive, enthusiasm and health do an adequate job as president. I have to wonder where these same pundits were this past weekend. While President Obama has not yet reached the age of 50 and is in good health, his cholesterol is high, and he continues to struggle with smoking. You all know that had this been President Bush's health report, the media and left would be jumping frantically up and down, voicing their concerns, but not with Mr. Obama. FOX News Channel did air a story and a live report about Obama's physical, but MSNBC did not even air so much as a mention of it. Forgetfulness or an error in judgment? I'll let you decide.

I really don't care if my president's cholesterol is a tad-bit high and he smokes because, frankly, it is none of my business, but it is unfortunate that the left does not see it this way. I applaud Sarah and individuals like her for calling out the democrats and their epic fail of a health care bill. It does not take a rocket scientist to tell us that we should eat healthy and exercise. Before the government attempts to come into our homes and tell us how we should live our lives, I suggest they stop and look at their own lives and lifestyle habits because the last thing Americans need is someone telling them to quit doing something they themselves continue to do. Americans deserve better.

Let Sarah Be Sarah

I don't know about you, but I'm beyond fed up with all the whining and complaining by people who've discovered they cannot control every decision Governor Palin makes. There are people out there who would throw a hissy fit if they suggested she go to the Bahamas for vacation but instead she opted to go to Italy. It's just that crazy right now. We are all aware, for example, of the conniptions some professed supporters are having over her endorsements.

Dan Calabrese addressed this issue today in his article, "Support Sarah Palin all you want, but you can’t demand that she fulfill your fantasies."

He wrote:

But if there is a group even more guilty than Palin’s critics of demanding she fit into their box, it is a great many of her supporters.

Granted, there are Palin supporters so taken with the former Alaska governor that they will support and agree with whatever she says or does, no matter what it is. But the more substantive core of Palin supporters consists of conservative activists, and here is what this group has decided:

Sarah Palin is the “true conservative” hope. Her ascension to the presidency is the greatest thing that could happen not only to the conservative movement, but also to the country. She is real, pure and true whereas most others are somehow and to some degree less than this. And we can’t let her fail.

OK. But there are problems with this, and not necessarily problems that reflect negatively on Palin.

First, as discussed previously in this column, Sarah Palin thinks for herself. Her governing instincts certainly appear to be conservative in most cases, but she is capable of judging a given situation on its individual merits.

So when Palin decides to go campaign for McCain, conservative activists are aghast: Oh no! This is a terrible mistake! She won’t help her credentials as a real conservative if she does this! Someone needs to talk to her!

Stop.

Here is something to consider. When Sarah Palin does something, it may not be because she is trying to burnish this or that set of credentials, or because she is trying to please this or that constituency. It might just be because she wants to do it. If this comes off as ill-considered to those who are exasperated not to detect a strategy behind it, perhaps the analysts should recognize the liberty that is bliss for the person who allows herself the freedom to simply come and go as she chooses.

Sarah Palin has never signed an I-must statement promising to do everything that a given constituency wants her to do. She has never promised to abide by the list of requirements that will make her a so-called real conservative.

Sometimes her supporters will agree with her. Sometimes they won’t. I wasn’t thrilled when she endorsed the son of Ron Paul in Kentucky, but I don’t feel the need to believe in a Sarah Palin who is perfectly molded to fit my ideal of who and what she is supposed to be.

Well-stated, Dan.

When did Governor Palin put up a suggestion box like you see at the local library? When did she issue a Facebook note that said, "Tell me what I should think"?

I have come to two conclusions for the strong reactions to the governor's decisions:

1. People say of her, "She is average-America. She is just like me. I can relate to her." Because she is so much "like us," people actually begin to think that they can dictate what move she should make next. Somehow they have failed to realize that being "one of us" means she has a quality that each of us values: independence of thought.

2. As a Black conservative, I see a parallel between the reaction to Black conservatives and the reaction to Governor Palin. Some people treat the governor the same way some Black Democrats treat conservative Blacks such as myself. That is, they love you as long as you subscribe to their big government, leftist agenda, as long as you remain "one of them." They respect you until you step out and do your own thing, like think for yourself in a manner that doesn't jive with their thinking. Then you're labeled a "sell-out." Then you'd better be prepared for some to shun you, insult you, and question your identity, simply because you have the audacity to step away from the system they thought they had you locked into. They thought they owned you; realizing they don't throws them into a frenzy--and they actually feel betrayed. People who respond in this manner don't appreciate independent, principled people. No, they want puppets on a string or slaves on a plantation. Whether they coin you a "sell-out" or a "RINO," the desire is the same: to enslave and control. The tactic won't work on me, and it won't work on Governor Palin.

Dan Calabrese ends the article with these strong words:

Just as Barack Obama isn’t necessarily what you imagine him to be, Sarah Palin isn’t going to be what you demand her to be. She is who she is – a very smart, skilled public servant and political figure who thinks for herself and makes her own decisions.

If these decisions sometimes don’t comport to the strategy you think she should be following to achieve the objective you’re sure she’s obsessed with, check to see if maybe you’re the one with the obsession.

And if they sometimes don’t fit with the orthodoxy of your particular movement, and that makes you want to have a hissy fit, too damn bad.

Perhaps Mr. Heath, the governor's dad, would simply put it this way: "Let Sarah be Sarah."

Paul Streitz Backstabs Governor Palin; Updated

Governor Palin, a RINO? Are you kidding me?

I have very little tolerance for backstabbers. And I have even less tolerance for backstabbers who are motivated by a desire to control the decisions of people who have proven that they operate on principle, not pressure.

Tonight Paul Streitz, co-founder of the 2012 Draft Sarah Committee, sent out an email blasting Governor Palin for her support of Senator John McCain, among other things. Streitz no longer holds a leadership position with the committee, nor has he for almost a year now. Although he phrased his email as if he is speaking for the committee, he is not.

His email states in part:

She has now chose to align herself with several bad actors. What should this be called, the Rinoization of Sarah Palin.

At the time of the election, perhaps Sarah Palin could have been forgiven for her ideas on immigration (and lack of knowledge) because she was governor of Alaska, not Arizona. But in the intervening months, she has done little but promote herself as a celebrity, known because her brief time on the national stage..

She is certainly entitled to write a book and make money for her and her family, but other than what has she has done to support Republican and patriotic candidates.

Where was she in VA?
Where was she in NJ?
Where was she in Mass?

Guiliani showed up in Mass because he knew what was at stake. Perhaps, Sarah was too busy talking to her agent about her Fox deal. Where the hell was Sarah?

Napoleon once said that he wanted Generals that went to the sound of the cannon. That they instinctively were fighters. He also said he wanted generals that had bon chance, good luck. Well, Sarah has had good luck, but she has not gone to the sound of the cannon, where critical battles were fought in 2009.

First of all, I'm not sure where Paul Streitz has been hiding out, but Governor Palin has always said that she would support John McCain's quest for re-election. Did he not know that she is a woman of her word? Did he expect her to turn tail and run when the time came? Mel dealt with this in an earlier post for Conservatives4Palin.

And where does he come off questioning her willingness to roll up her sleeves and run into the fight? If she's not the general fighting for common sense conservatism, who is? There is no other person who has put herself on the line for love of country as she has. There is not one other public figure who has gone through the hell that Governor Palin has gone through--her every word analyzed, her every step sized up, her family picked apart. Who else has sacrificed personal comfort and family privacy to the degree that she has in order to make a difference in this nation? She has undergone scrutiny to a degree none of us has ever seen before. The attacks, the accusations, the utter hatred she has endured are unprecedented. And with each new occurrence, she only speaks out even louder. That's not called celebrity; that's called selfless public service. Governor Palin's commitment to the success of this country is without question. Where does Streitz come off accusing her of only looking after self, simply because she's not a puppet whose strings he can dangle? That's really what this is all about, isn't it?

Governor Palin has supported candidates who support the values that she espouses. She has rallied the American people to do the same in key races in New York, New Jersey, Virginia, and Massachusetts. In addition, SarahPAC has given generously to aid in these efforts. As promised, she will soon hit the road and support other candidates she stands behind, including Rick Perry, Michele Bachmann, and yes, John McCain in this critical year.

If Paul Streitz's support of Governor Palin is contingent upon his agreeing with every decision she makes or her selling out her deeply-held values, that's unfortunate. While all support is appreciated, the governor has never been for sale. Ask the Alaska establishment, who learned that early in her political career.

Paul Streitz should note that true character is revealed, not necessarily when we agree with someone, but in areas where we may disagree. The way we deal with those situations says a lot about who we really were all along. When disagreements lead to backstabbing, undermining, and trying to rally others to buy into it, I have to wonder if the knife was waiting in the back pocket all along.

Once again, Paul Streitz was not speaking for the 2012 Draft Sarah Committee. In a soon-to-be-released Alert, Chairman Randy Highsmith states:

Paul Streitz, co-founder of the 2012 Draft Sarah Committee, who has not held a leadership position with the Committee for almost a year now, sent out an email tonight voicing his disapproval of Governor Palin’s recent decisions. If you have received his email, you were probably under the impression that he was speaking for us, for he phrased it in such a way as to give that impression. However, he was not—in any way, shape, or form—speaking for the 2012 Draft Sarah Committee. He was speaking for himself. We do not, as a Committee, support his perspective or condone his approach.

Governor Palin has always acted on principle, which is one of many reasons we have supported her so vehemently and will continue to do so.

Update: As most people who are paying attention know--people unlike Paul Streitz, that is--Governor Palin did endorse both McDonnell and Christie and gave them the maximum money allowed by law. The governor also offered to go campaign for them, but her physical assistance was not required, and the offer was politely declined. As for Massachusetts, it was wisdom on Governor Palin's part not to go stump for him, as he was working hard to stand independent of the national Republican establishment. Her arrival in a blue state like Massachusetts may have easily worked against him--something the Left was hoping for--so she let him stand on his own, and we all know how this panned out for him. Streitz would be wise to get his facts straight before running his mouth.

Insight From a Cool Alaskan: A Post by Conservative Girl with a Voice

My good friend, Eddie Burke, is not only the #1 Alaska talk radio host, but an awesome writer as well. Eddie recently wrote an article about Sarah from an Alaskan's point of view. Since I am not an Alaskan, I am always on the look out for articles written by Alaskans because they know Sarah and their state better than anyone else; after all, Sarah was their governor. I have to admit that I am jealous that Alaska had a governor with such integrity and sheer grit. As a Californian, I am outraged at the RINO governor the people of my state have to put up with. My fellow Californians know what I am talking about. I did vote for my governor because he promised to clean up the corruption of California and make it a pro-business state once again. As I soon found out, my governor did not live up to his promises, and our state continues down that familiar "politics as usual" path. The people of Alaska were so blessed to have a governor like Sarah. She not only cleaned up the corruption in Alaska, but unlike my "governator," she actually did "talk the talk and walk the walk."

As we all know, Sarah had high poll numbers throughout the majority of her time as governor. When John McCain selected Sarah to be his running mate, Sarah literally went from a little-known governor of the largest state to a virtual rock star. When she
stepped out onto that stage in Ohio and began to speak, I saw what my dad and mom saw in Ronald Reagan when they had him as their governor and later their president. Sarah simply has that special something. She IS the modern-day Ronald Reagan of my generation. Individuals like Sarah don't come along everyday, and I am so glad that I am able to experience the same excitement that my parents experienced during the Reagan years. I pray that my children will have the pleasure of calling Sarah, President Palin.

Eddie Burke has known Sarah and her family for years. I am so happy to have gotten to know him too. I respect him greatly because he does everything for the right reasons. Like Sarah, he is not afraid to stand up and speak out for what is right and just. On his show, he is not afraid to tell it like it is, even when the truth may hurt a little bit. No wonder his show is #1 in AK! In Eddie's most recent article for Red County, Eddie not only writes about Sarah from an Alaskan's perspective, but he also goes into detail about the reasons behind the hate Sarah is receiving from the left in Alaska, which has a lot to do with her decision to be John McCain's running mate. Eddie also writes about the extreme steps the hateful, vengeful Alaskan bloggers took and continue to take in an effort to bring Sarah down. As We Say in Alaska, "Go Sarah, Go!"

Some people in the Lower 48 might be saying," what is with you people up in Alaska?"

You might be wondering why people in our State would kick Sarah Palin around like she's the enemy? Also, you must think some of us are crazy to file 20 Ethics complaints on our former Governor that were all dismissed? If you ask me, these people who filed the complaints are crazy!

Prior to Sarah running with McCain, her popularity in Alaska had peaked at about 92%. Sarah had bi-partisan support on Oil and Gas legislation; she signed into law new ethics laws. She actually had Democrats that were praising her. She was a "Rock-Star" in Alaska. Sarah was the most liked Governor in the nation.

But then, a knock at the door or the proverbial phone call came. "Hello," Said Sarah. "Hi, this is John McCain." Wow! Who could turn that down? But Sarah would never predict what would follow in the months and year to come. Sarah Palin would become Democrat enemy #1.

As the McCain-Palin campaign went forward, Sarah's poll numbers in Alaska went down. Sarah gave McCain the needed bump with that slam-dunk speech at the Republican National Convention. All those partisan Alaskan Democrats who liked her before were now peeling off. As Sarah ramped up the attacks on Barack Hussein Obama about his associations with known Felons, such as Bill Ayers, Democrats around the nation and here in Alaska took it personal.

Well, Sarah and McCain lost. Most conservatives never thought McCain was a good candidate to begin with and we didn't like him much, but we liked Sarah Palin and she was his only hope. Like all Presidential elections, it's never about the VP; it's about the candidate for President.. It was about John McCain, but he blew it-- not just during the campaign, but through his years of votes as a Senator.

Sarah Comes Back Home

The evening Sarah landed in Anchorage; there must have been 800-1000 people to greet her outside at the airport. For 800-1000 people to battle the cold and darkness in Alaska was considered a tremendous gathering. I know; I was there.

Within only a year after Sarah returned to Alaska, twenty ethics complaints in total would be filed. Most Alaskans thought these women were crazy after 7 or 8 had been filed and dismissed.

Bloggers made money at being "Palin Haters." They lied about many things, including an FBI Investigation, but when caught lying they never would apologize to the Governor. The FBI made an unprecedented announcement stating the FBI never did and was not investigating Sarah. But there was still no apology. All the investigations against Sarah were dismissed. Nothing alleged was true. It was all just politics and a way to get back at her. For what, you ask? She accepted a request to be the Vice Presidential nominee for the United States of America.

It was a heavy price to pay for wanting to serve your Country. Her children were thrashed and maligned. The attacks continued on the Palin's in a way that no political family has ever encountered or has ever witnessed. And liberals say they are so tolerant.

I, like most Alaskans, was embarrassed for what a few in our State would do to bring down Sarah Palin. They cost the state millions and more, but they never cared. They stalled Government, but they never cared. The onslaught of complaints literally brought our Alaska Governor and state to a halt and embarrassed the rest of us. Governor Palin stepped down to let the state move forward. She did the honorable, selfless thing.

Alaska is great state and populated with people who love our Country. Alaskans are mostly center-right people and believe in the freedom that comes with living in Alaska. We love to hunt, fish and experience the great outdoors. We struggle with the long, cold winters to be away from the urban problems that are consistent with many places in the lower 48. We depend on snowmobiles and four wheelers like many of you depend on cars and trucks. In many places in Alaska, these ATV's are the only connection from village to village. We understand the need to have Alaska's vast natural resources developed responsibly.

Because of Sarah Palin, most American families know more about Alaska today than ever before. You know we have a wealth of resources including oil, gas and mining that need to be developed and delivered to markets for your consumption.

Don't believe the liberals and "Palin Haters" who say Alaskans can't develop these resources safely. They know nothing about Alaska, they are just obstructionists who would rather you ride the bus than drive your car. Yes, Sarah Palin paid a heavy price for wanting to serve and for accepting the call. But America is better off she did. And as her father, Chuck Heath, recently said on my radio program, "You have not seen the last of Sarah Palin."

As we say in Alaska, "Go Sarah, Go!"

Fact, NOT Fiction: A Post by Conservative Girl with a Voice

The revolution that is conservatism- that's what I believe is beginning to take place all across America. While many will try to dispute this and tell me that I'm just a young, inexperienced blogger, I know what I write is true. Now, let's get back to this whole idea of my being naïve just because I'm a young woman. I don't know how often I get this explanation. Usually, the conversation will start something like this: "While I commend you on having the drive, determination and passion for writing a blog, you're just a young woman, what can you possibly know about conservatism?" If I had a dollar for every conversation that goes like that, I'd probably be a millionaire by now. While I'm still learning on my conservative journey, I know who I am, and I know what values and beliefs I hold most dear. I'm not some young, wishy-washy blonde who just sits back and allows others to sway my opinion. I believe in freedom and liberty. I believe in the Constitution. I believe the key aspects of conservatism are fiscal responsibility and a strong national defense. I believe in the free market, importance of tax cuts and personal responsibility. I believe all life is precious and sacred. I believe marriage is between a man and a woman. All of these things work together to define who I am as a young conservative woman.



There is a myth out there about conservatives that I continually have to disprove. Many individuals have the idea that if you’re young, that automatically makes you a liberal. Well, I'm proof that this is simply not the case. It drives me mad to hear this argument from people. Sarah Palin is living, breathing proof that cool, hip women are conservative too. Sarah is proof that you can be a proud female conservative. I am a proud conservative, and I will forever be grateful to Sarah for dismissing this myth. During the 2008 campaign, I was amazed at the large amount of young, energetic conservatives from all across the country who love their country as much as I do. While it is true that many young people do identify themselves as liberal, the number of young people who identify themselves as conservatives is growing by the day.



There are many of us young conservatives out there, contrary to what people like Meghan McCain will try to tell you. I used to really respect Meghan McCain. As a fellow spunky blonde myself, I really looked up to her because I could relate to her in so many ways. During the campaign, I really admired the way Meghan carried herself and supported her father. I enjoyed reading her blog about life on the campaign trail. During the campaign, she supported Sarah and her family, and I really liked how she would continually come to Sarah's defense. As we all know, this all changed on the evening of November 4, 2008, after the Republican Party lost the election. Suddenly, Meghan McCain didn't look so cool and hip to me anymore. It is as if she became a different person. She no longer stuck up for Sarah and her family. She started to distance herself from the conservative wing of the Republican Party. While it is no secret that she was never a conservative, I still respected and admired her for what I thought were good intentions. I no longer look to Meghan as a Republican role model. Perhaps Meghan got too involved with the Rino wing of the GOP, or she got too involved with the establishment, but I will never understand how she could turn a complete 180 when it came to Sarah and her family. Doesn't she realize how much Sarah helped her father? Without Sarah, Meggie Mac and her dad may have continued to carry their own bags at the airport.


While Meghan was hip during the campaign, Sarah was hipper. While people enjoyed seeing the McCain family at the rallies throughout the country, they were really there to see Sarah and hers. I believe Meghan McCain is jealous of Sarah, plain and simple. She is not alone. In a new book that was written by two reporters embedded with the McCain campaign, it appears John McCain felt he was being overshadowed by Sarah too, which they claim is the reason why Sarah was not allowed to address the crowd election night. While I cannot confirm this, it makes pretty good sense to me.



As you are all well aware, the "big tent" talk has erupted yet again, and Rinos like Meghan McCain are voicing their support in favor of it. I'd hate to tell Miss McCain, but the whole "big tent" theory is why her father lost the election. While I am a conservative and disagree with John McCain on many issues, I still supported him after Rudy Giuliani pulled out of the race because I felt he was the best candidate of those who were still in the race. Those who continue to argue for the "big tent" seem to forget all about the election of 2008. They seem to forget that the conservative wing of the Republican Party was up in arms when it learned McCain was the last man standing. In choosing Sarah, the McCain camp picked an awesome individual with true conservative values.


Although many conservatives soon came back to the Republican Party's side, there were many who could not get over the fact that the party had such a moderate candidate. I want everyone to feel that they are welcome to join the Republican Party, but I want them to join knowing that the party will not change the values that made it the great party it once was. That is what is happening. The Republican Party has dramatically shifted away from its core values and principles, and until it returns to its core values and principles, it will remain out in the wilderness. I know it is impossible for everyone in a party to agree on every single issue, and people need to remember this, but when you start talking about adopting a "big tent" philosophy, the Republican Party will lose its identity. It is the Republican Party, not the Democratic Party. When you start appeasing to everyone's wants and desire, chaos WILL ensue.


I am so proud to be a young conservative, and I know I'm not alone. Along this amazing journey, I have met so many great individuals whom I have so much in common with. While I have gotten to know people of all ages and walks of life, it is the other young conservatives whom I most identify with. I love connecting with fellow young conservatives because I know it will be up to the younger generations to stand strong on their conservative principles. We are the candidates of the future. Sarah has brought all of us together.


While many of us have never personally met her, she is the reason we connected. I find many of those I meet are just like me. They were never politically active before the 2008 election, but the election personally effected and changed them for the better. Now, we find ourselves doing everything in our power to spread the message of conservatism. While we may be a smaller army than our liberal counterparts, we are growing in number by the day. I guarantee we will continue to grow big and strong as more young people realize President Obama will not keep his campaign promises. We will stand with open arms and welcome whomever wants to join our conservative army. We are united for a common cause, spreading the common sense message of conservatism, and we will not back down, and we will not grow weary and tired. We are in it for the long haul, for our country is worth fighting for.

Sarah Palin: For Such a Time as That, For Such a Time as THIS

A year ago today, Governor Sarah Palin delivered what will go down in history as one of the best speeches--ever. More than 40 million people watched as she proved that she was not only ready for the big stage, but could dominate it.

One year later, Sarah Palin is one of the most sought-after speakers, having to decline a plethora of requests from people and organizations who recognize and appreciate the substance found within her eloquence.

Did you know that at the beginning of her speech, the teleprompter died? She never missed a beat, did she? She has a God-given gift and speaks from the heart, making it all seem so easy.

On August 29, 2008, when John McCain introduced Sarah Palin to the world, we figured she was something special. On September 3rd, we knew she was. And today, we haven't changed our minds. We needed her then. We need her now. She has emerged as a leader at a time when this nation is begging for one. She has emerged..."for such a time as this."

Celebrating Sarah Palin's Coming Out Party One Year Later

Here are my thoughts from yesterday, August 29, 2009, regarding the day Sarah Palin stepped onto the national stage:


Today is a special day indeed as so many are celebrating the one-year anniversary of the day John McCain tapped Sarah Palin to be his running mate. In fact, I just returned from New York City where I got together with some Palin supporters, bloggers, and activists. Life has not been the same since that day last year--not for Sarah Palin, not for America, and not for me.

I remember leaving the mall that afternoon on August 29, 2008. The car radio was on, and I heard the announcement that Senator John McCain had chosen Sarah Palin, the governor of Alaska, to run this race alongside him. My first thought was, "Alaska?" My second thought--and I remember it so well--was, "Hillary is going to be SO mad!" As I was not at all a Hillary supporter, I relished in that thought. I did not expect Barack Obama to win the presidency--just didn't believe he would--and I just knew Hillary was going to be ticked off that a woman had beaten her to the White House!

Later when the media was covering Sarah Palin, showing who she was and discussing her record, I was hit with an awareness that she was not just another candidate. I could sense in my spirit that there was something special about her, something godly. And I was so excited. Something on the inside bore witness that this woman was the real deal.

And then, of course, all hell broke lose, as the powers on the Left descended on Wasilla, Alaska trying to dig up dirt. When they couldn't find any, they created their own. I have a feeling Sarah had no idea what she was getting herself into when she stepped onto that stage after McCain's announcement. But she certainly knows now--and she has proven that she can handle herself well.

In the course of a year, I have studied Sarah Palin, admired her record, met her and her family, visited her state, and fell in love with her hometown. My mind has not changed about her. I still respect her, still believe God has called her for this time, and still know she will continue to lead with great integrity.

When Sarah and McCain lost the election, I just knew it wasn't over. In fact, the night of November 4th, after Obama was declared the winner, I felt my world had come crashing down. But I uttered aloud, "The world has not seen the last of Sarah Palin." I had not thought before I spoke. It simply came out of me. It was one of those "I know that I know that I know" moments. And I never prayed for Sarah--or this nation--more than after November 4th.

It took a while for me to recuperate from what was lost when the country did not elect Sarah. Actually, I'm not sure I'm fully over it yet. But one thing I do believe is true, no matter what it looks like now: For America and for Sarah Palin, the best is yet to come--and I believe the two are unmistakably linked.

John McCain: It's MY Party This Year

August 29th is turning out to be more of an anniversary of sorts than I had realized. Like everyone else, I was looking at that date as the day Governor Sarah Palin was introduced to the world in Dayton, Ohio, the day I call "Sarah Palin's Coming Out Party." I wrote a little about that last night, and you can read it here or here if you missed it.

August 29th is also the Palins' wedding anniversary. They will be celebrating twenty one years of marriage this Saturday. From that union, as we all know, they have five beautiful children to love.

What I didn't realize, however, is that August 29th is also John McCain's birthday. I discovered that today when I received an email from Cindy McCain asking me to join thousands of others in signing an online birthday card for the senator. Once I have signed that card, the email asks, would I consider donating to his reelection campaign? Now this is the way a birthday party is supposed to go down. The honoree is supposed to receive gifts from others, not the other way around, right? So what John McCain is saying today is, "Hey, I gave all of you a priceless present last year, so I'm calling in the favor this year." That gift, of course, was Sarah Palin.

Hey, I don't fault the guy, do you? The party he threw us on his birthday in 2008 has amounted to the best party I've ever attended. Who can blame him for wanting to get a little something-something back from us this year?

S.A.R.A.H: Such a Real American Hero-A Post by Conservative Girl with a Voice

What a difference a year makes. This past Friday, July 31st, I celebrated my 28th birthday surrounded by tons of family and friends at the cabin. As I do every year, I took a few minutes to reflect on this past year. This past year has gone by so fast and the changes that have taken place not only in my life, but in our country led me to wonder what the next year will bring. A year ago, the presidential election was just beginning to heat up. Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton were battling over who would be the Democratic Party's nominee. John McCain had already pretty much secured the Republican Party's nod. I remember listening to talk radio everyday just so I could hear about the on-going soap opera like battle between Barack and Hillary. Was Hillary going to continue the fight? Was the Democratic Party going to split into two halves? Were the PUMA's (Party Unity My Ass people) for real? These questions and many more were discussed and re-discussed daily. Little did I know that in a few short weeks the world would be introduced to a Ronald Reagan incarnate in the form of Sarah Palin.


Two words: Sarah Palin. Whenever her name is pronounced, people have one of two reactions- they either love her or hate her. A year ago, I did not even know who Sarah Palin was, but I am so glad that I, as well as the rest of America, has gotten to get to know this truly tremendous woman and her generous, kind-hearted family. I may have not been familiar with Sarah Palin, but my dad was very familiar with her long before she was picked as McCain's running mate. I first heard of Sarah, not by her name, but as my dad referred to her as that "cool governor of Alaska." You see, my dad had been listening to the news one day when a commentator was talking about this governor from AK who was a true reformer and fiscal conservative. My dad drew an immediately liking to her when he heard about how she had virtually reformed and cleaned-up the corruption in the state of AK. I remember dad telling me about all the amazing things she had done as governor and that he sincerely hoped she would be considered as a possible running mate for McCain. As he told me about her, I immediately began to like her and all she stood for, but I thought "Come on, we're talking about the governor of Alaska." Now, don't get me wrong, but prior to learning about how wonderful the state of AK and its people are, I was only going on what I had seen on TV and in the movies. You know those movies about distant lands, lots of snow and Eskimos? Well, let's just say that's what I thought AK was all about, not that there's anything wrong with that. Like so many of you out there, these stereotypes were instilled into my brain to the point in which it was hard to see AK as anything other than a desolate land. Let's just say that I am SOOOO glad I was wrong about AK and its awesome people. Not only is AK one of the most beautiful, resource-rich states in America, but the people who I have gotten to know from AK are the most generous, friendly people I have ever met; the saying "real people" certainly applies. It's too bad more people cannot realize what I have come to realize.


The people of AK have a lot to thank Sarah for. She not only forever changed the once-held perceptions people in the lower 48 held regarding AK and its people, but she has opened the door for conservative women like me everywhere who finally have found a voice to represent us in politics. A year ago, I was getting ready to apply for teaching positions at local community colleges to teach journalism and English, I never thought I'd be in the position I am today. I never thought I'd be blogging, getting politically active, and speaking at Tea Parties and if not for Sarah, I guarantee I wouldn't be writing and thinking about having a career in politics. Sarah has inspired me so much, and I'm sure she has inspired you as well. This blog has opened so many doors, and I couldn't be more thrilled to see what God has in store for me as I continue down this journey called life. I have gotten to know so many amazing people who have inspired me to fight the good fight and continue to press on no matter who tries to bring me down. People like #1 AK Talk Radio Host Eddie Burke, who has been nice enough to have me as a regular guest on his radio show. (Please listen to his show on www.kbyr.com Monday-Friday from 3-6 PSD.) Eddie is a great example of a person who is repeatedly attacked, but continues the good fight for a cause greater than self; he truly loves his country. Another inspiring AK individual who I have gotten the chance to know is Jessica Steele, Sarah's hairdresser who owns the Beehive Beauty Shop in Wasilla, AK. As I blogged about recently, a reporter for the New York Slimes (Times) recently wrote a story using quotes they said came from Jessica about Sarah's hair thinning from stress, and so on. Only problem is, Jessica NEVER said anything of the sort and NEVER would. This is the media of today. A Media that see Sarah as a threat, which as I have discussed before is the reason they are trying, yet to no avail, to bring down. These are just a couple of great AKn people whom I have gotten to know over the last few months. These are good people who, like Sarah, are being unfairly attacked by the liberal left. When they are attacked, they press forward, which is what I am going to do. Like them, I know that anytime I am attacked, my common sense message is getting out there. When Jesus was spit on, he pressed on just as Sarah continues to press on when slanderous statements are reported about her and her family. People like Sarah, Eddie and Jessica are great Americans who are fighting the good fight in the name of freedom and liberty. It is our First Amendment right to speak out, and until this right is taken away, I will continue to speak out and voice my opinion. Like the great Ronald Reagan, Sarah Palin is a great communicator who is also not afraid to speak out, which is so refressing. I did not agree with everything John McCain did in his run for the presidency, but the best thing he did was selecting Sarah to be his running mate, and I will forever be greatful. If it wasn't for his picking Sarah, America may have not gotten to know and come to love this woman. Sarah is a true jewel whom in true Ronald Reagan fashion has and will continue to do great things. Last year, as I reflected on the year that had been and the year that was to come, I never would have thought that, in the year to come, our country would be heading down the dangerous path toward socialism. I wonder what next year will look like? We NEED more Americans who are willing to fight the good fight for smaller, more efficient government. The more people who rise up and voice their concerns, the better chance we have to truly make a difference for our children and ourselves. I recommend you all read Glenn Beck's "Common Sense." It will open your eyes to what America once was and unfortunately what it is becoming. We, the people, are strongest when we come together.
So on my next birthday, it is my hope that when I reflect back on the year that was, I can look with pride at a nation who came together as one like we did following the tragic events of 9/11. Anything is possible, so, readers, keep up the good fight in the name of freedom and liberty!!!

A Time For Choosing......An Open Letter To The Republican Party

In October of 1964 Ronald Reagan addressed the Republican National Convention and a television audience. At the time America was headed into liberalism in a big way. Democrats were looking to grow the government in ways our founders never dreamed of. The "Great Society" was upon us.

Reagan, a newly minted Republican, remarked that he didn’t leave the democrat party, the party left him.

Reagan spoke of American exceptionalism and determination. He spoke of conservatism. He also spoke of the evils of liberalism, and communism.

Reagan’s speech, entitled "A Time For Choosing" is one of his best works. It is considered as the real awakening of the conservative movement. It is so iconic, it has come to be know as simply, "The Speech". And if you have never seen it, you cannot call yourself a conservative.

Ronald Reagan gave this most inspiring of speeches, in support of Presidential candidate Barry Goldwater. While conservatives were moved with Reagan’s common sense, wisdom, and patriotism, it fell on the deaf ears of the party elite: The blue blood, country club Republicans. Those today we conservatives call RINOs (Republicans In Name Only)

It would be 16 years more of moving towards socialism, and really poor government. This culminated in the total disaster known as the Jimmy Carter presidency, a complete and total mess that we are still feeling the ramifications of to this day! Think Community Reinvestment Act, and Radical Islam.

So, how did Ronald Reagan finally become President? Well, he basically followed the principles he set forth in his 1964 speech! President Reagan won two record landslide elections, including a 49 state win in 1984, by stressing solid conservatism to every single American, no mater the sex, race, or religious creed.

What Reagan knew then, just as we know now, is that conservatism is universal. It doesn’t belong to any party. Conservatism is a concept of freedom, and accomplishment. That all men should be free of tyranny, from oppression. All men should have an equal chance in life. Reagan knew that conservatism stresses the fact that we get all of our rights from our God, not from the government of man. Reagan knew that the Constitution was a covenant between the government and it’s citizens, that limited the power of government, not it’s citizens.

Reagan knew that government wasn’t the answer, but indeed was the problem. In that regard, things have only gotten worse since Reagan’s days in office.

But you know what else about Reagan and his historic wins?

Reagan never pandered. He didn’t sit around and think up ways to appeal to this group or that group. He didn’t worry about having one message for one crowd or another. He had but one message: The message of conservatism, true conservatism.

Again, conservatism is universal. The concept of conservatism works for every single group of people. White, black, Hispanic, etc. Straight, gay, male, female, Christian, Jewish, Muslim, it doesn’t matter. Conservatism works for every single human being.

Now, let’s fast forward a bit. Even though Ronald Reagan was the most successful President in our lifetimes, the Republicans didn’t learn their real lesson. We ended up with a moderate Republican President. Not a bad man. In fact a very good man. But a moderate none the less.

That of course led us to Bill Clinton. Clinton was a disaster from the get go, including his weak answer to bombing of the World Trade Center. In fact, his poor performance led to the second conservative revolution in 1994, spearheaded by Newt Gingrich, Tom Delay, and others.

Using solid conservative principles, the Republicans were able to balance the budget, pass welfare reform, and other common sense legislation. In fact, they did so well, that the common man on the street credited Clinton, and gave him a second term!

But why did that happen? Well, easy. You see, the Republican party still hadn’t learned it’s lesson. (This is, a recurring theme, huh?) The party put up one of our greatest Americans, for sure. A bonafide World War II hero, a man of great integrity, a true statesman: Bob Dole. The only problem, is Senator Dole is a true moderate. (You know how the word liberal has become a pejorative? Well, as far as I am concerned, so has moderate!) We never had a chance.

Senator Dole never forcefully took credit for all of the great things Clinton was said to have done, that were actually accomplished by conservative Republicans.

Now, thankfully, we then saw George Bush, another fine man. A decent man. But not really a conservative. But, we knew that going in. George Bush was tested under the fire of war, and performed brilliantly, keeping America safe. Something no one thought was possible right after 9/11.

The Republicans had control of Congress, as well. But, it wasn’t the same Republicans. Maybe they had been in Washington too long. Or maybe real conservatives left. Whatever the reason, the RINOs came to power, and conservatism, real conservatism was in exile again.

Now for sure, President Bush did a whole lot more right than wrong. But being a moderate, he let a lot of things happen on his watch. Most notable, even though there are at least 34 documented calls to put Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, both arms of the democrat party, in check, being a moderate, the President didn’t go to real battle with these people. And in the end, never named the names of the real culprits of the current financial crisis, instead accepting blame for the entire Republican party instead of naming all the democrats who actually caused this mess!

Which leads us to the 2008 election. Through silly Republican primary rules, and just plain insanity, the GOP showed that 44 years after Reagan’s blueprint for sure victory was written, they still didn’t have a clue. As such, we got the RINO’s RINO, John McCain! Now, John McCain is a war hero, a true American. But he is not a conservative, or even a moderate. He’s "democrat lite". A Liberal. A complete disaster.

But, just like in 1964....in September of 2008, another strong conservative walked to the podium to sing the praises of the Presidential candidate. This time in the guise of the Vice Presidential candidate. That strong conservative was Governor Sarah Palin of Alaska. Her speech, like Reagan’s before her, was inspirational. Like Reagan, Governor Palin spoke from her heart. She spoke of the greatness of America. As she spoke, you could see the shining city on a hill that Reagan often spoke of.

Governor Palin spoke of American exceptionalism. The greatness of the common man. She spoke of the solid conservative principles of freedom, and self determination. She spoke of security and self reliance, not only for Americans but for America itself.

Governor Palin was a hit, as we know. Her message resonated with Americans. A once dead campaign came back to life. Donations and volunteers poured in at a record pace. Between Palin’s common sense conservatism, and the fact that of the four people on both tickets, she was the only one with chief executive experience, and lots of it, for the first time, Republicans saw a win happening.

We saw Ronald Reagan when we saw Sarah Palin. In fact, even Michael Reagan himself said so. No stronger endorsement than that.

But sadly, the RINOs were in control of the campaign, and totally misused her talents. It was incredibly disheartening for those of us who had followed the Governor before she became a nationally know figure.

Worse yet, the democrats along with their media cohorts launched an unrelenting campaign of hate, lies, and dirty tricks against the Governor, which is in high gear to this day.

In the end, the moderates had it their way. The entire "democrat lite" wing of the Republican party prevailed, as did Barack Obama, the democrat candidate.

Now, this should have never happened. Barack Obama is to the left of Joseph Stalin. This is a man who was raised by communist parents, and grand parents. Mentored by communists like Frank Marshal Davis, terrorist Bill Ayers, and racist America hating Jeremiah Wright, among others.

No way in the world should this guy gotten past McCain/Palin. But, instead of listening to the cry of conservatives everywhere, our man John McCain actually defended Obama at every turn. Apologizing when Governor Palin turned on the heat, and even worse, refusing to defend her while she, herself, was being attacked with lies, hate, and dirty tricks. Another reoccurring theme for today’s Republican party of moderates.

So, again getting whipped badly taught the Republican elite nothing. If anything, the RINOs, the country club blue blooders are trying to move even closer to the democrats and further to the left! The true definition of insanity.

Sarah Palin touched Americans like no one has since Ronald Reagan. But, the Republican party is no longer the party of Reagan. It’s the democrat party watered down. So, the elites in our party not only didn’t listen to Governor Palin, they joined in the attacks, unable to face up to their own inadequacies! Including John McCain, who to this day, never misses a chance to disrespect the Governor, all the while sucking up to his buddies in the media.

So, the die was cast.

That takes us to 2009, and CPAC. This time it was Rush Limbaugh who gave the patriotic speech. This too was iconic. No one was surprised that Fox News carried his keynote speech live, but so did CNN. This was a big deal, and rivaled both Reagan, and Palin in it’s enormity of purpose.

Like Reagan, and Palin, Limbaugh spoke of American exceptionalism. Of America and her people’s greatness. Limbaugh spoke of solid conservative values, and how those values are what made America great. He spoke of how conservatism lifts people up, and how communism oppresses people. How, as conservatives, we want to build people up to their highest potential, and how communism punishes great achievement in the name of "economic justice".

Something else Limbaugh did. Just like Ronald Reagan forcefully attacked President Lyndon Johnson, and the democrats and Sarah Palin forcefully attacked candidate Barack Obama and the democrat/communist party, he attacked President Barack Obama and the party of radicals.

And just like Reagan, and Palin, Limbaugh did it with skill, humor, and good cheer. He was angry, as we all are, but when you are on the right path, you can speak with great ease.

Something else. Just like with Ronald Reagan, and Sarah Palin, conservatives cried tears of joy as they heard Limbaugh speak! These are the words we want to hear. The crowd at CPAC was screaming and people who were watching this live in their homes were as well. These are the kind of Republicans we want! We are tired of the country club RINO. The milquetoast moderates who are stumbling all over themselves to out democrat the democrats!

It's this moderate democrat lite type of Republican that has kept the party in the minority position for most of its existence. Only when true Ronald Reagan conservatism is practiced does the Republican party prevail. And as such, the American people!

Of course, true to form, all of the RINOs chose not to get behind Limbaugh. Oh no! Just like the blue bloods did back in 1964, and really until 1980 when they attacked Reagan unmercifully, and like today’s RINOs attacked, and still attack Sarah Palin, these people attacked Rush Limbaugh with as much vigor as the democrats!

If only the RINO wing would attack democrats with such vigor!

So once again, we are at a time for choosing. As a party, do the Republican leaders want to continue to be a minority party forever, or do you want to weed out the democrat lite RINOs, and become the powerful, unstoppable party of Reagan once more?

In the coming days I will be addressing individual ideas that are on every American’s mind. Ideas that are universal in their nature, and profound in their effect. And again, it will be a time for choosing!

Time to chose to listen to what Americans, all Americans, want, or again turn a blind eye, and a deaf ear to it all, and remain an insignificant party.

There is much urgency to this decision too. This isn’t just about winning elections anymore. We are in a fight to save this nation. Barack Obama, and the democrat/communist party plan to take this nation places it was never intended to go. They are destroying everything Americans hold dear to their hearts

So, as you see, your decision is urgently needed, and you had better make the right one.
