10 Reasons Why Sarah Palin Would Make a Good President

U.S. News and World Report just published a survey on the top ten reasons why Sarah Palin would make a good President. I have revised their top ten list to suit my fancy (my additions in italics):
1. Unbending Conservative
Palin is a long-time, unbending Reagan conservative who has committed to cutting taxes, eliminating some unnecessary regulations, and generally shrinking the intrusiveness of government.

2. Military Hawk
The mother of a soldier in Iraq, Palin is becoming a military hawk. She has repeatedly threatened Iran with sharp language, and Constitutionalists some think know threats work when backed up by military strength. And don't forget that she can shoot an elk at 400 yards, so she can back up those threats.

3. Oil Drilling Advocate
The former governor of Alaska is a strong advocate for an all-inclusive energy policy. She wants to produce more domestic energy and buy less overseas. Democrats see her as tough on that issue.

4. Respect of Governors
As governor, she had the respect of other governors and worked well with the state legislature. She will might bring a new type of leadership that ends the unproductive and bipartisan approach to governing from Washington.

5. Revive Saturday Night Live
Let's face it: Palin impersonators are funny becoming boring, and her presidency would certainly help revive throttle Saturday Night Live's ratings if Tina Fey returned to play Palin.

6. Friend of the Working Class
She identifies with working class Americans more than more wealthy, elitist candidates and presidents. It's not uncommon to see her enjoy working with assisting her husband on his fishing boat. Or Hunting and fishing for that matter are her passion.

7. Advocate for Disabled Children
Her last youngest child was born with Downs Syndrome and that has made her she is a passionate advocate for disabled children life, a job that presidents normally pass off to the first lady.

8. First Woman President
Just being the first woman president would likely bring massive changes to how the Oval Office is handled and how foreign leaders view the United States, especially in light of her ability to handle and use firearms.

9. Boost Conservative Media
As a foe of the liberal media, she might will boost conservative bloggers and center-right alternative media like Fox News to mainstream media levels eliminating any possibility of resurrecting some type of Fairness Doctrine.

10. Fashion Statement
She would likely spark a whole new fashion a renewed sense of quiet elegance in the nation, with without regard to it being Carhartt, and Cabela's, taking over from J. Crew and or Gap.

Needless to say, I don't subscribe to U.S. News and World Report. Does anyone?

Palin: Effective Rule of Law. Obama: Ineffective Thugocracy

The Obama administration is an out-of-control, ineffective thugocracy, according to Michael Barone, political analyst for the Washington Examiner. Thomas Sowell, whose book, Conflict of Visions, Gov. Palin referenced in Going Rogue described how the United States is slipping into tyranny.

Obama's Leadership Philosophy: Ineffective Thuggery

In "Obama's thuggery is useless in fighting spill," Barone cited Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar's infamous "boot on the neck" quote and Obama's "so I know whose a-- to kick," as two examples of ineffective thuggery, while BP's gusher gushes unabated 65 days later and state and local governments do the heavy lifting to keep their beaches safe.

The now-reversed moratorium on off-shore drilling is an example of ineffective thuggery at work, for as Barone wrote, "[this] penalizes companies with better safety records than BP's and will result in many advanced drilling rigs being sent to offshore oil fields abroad."

Judge Feldman, who wrote the ruling reversing the moratorium was even harsher. "An invalid agency decision to suspend drilling of wells in depths of over 500 feet simply cannot justify the immeasurable effect on the plaintiffs, the local economy, the Gulf region, and the critical present-day aspect of the availability of domestic energy in this country," as quoted by an Associated Press report.

Gutting the Constitution and the Road to Tyranny

Sowell, of Investor's Business Daily wrote about an even more insidious form of thuggery, that went virtually unnoticed.
Just where in the Constitution of the United States does it say that a president has the authority to extract vast sums of money from a private enterprise and distribute it as he sees fit to whomever he deems worthy of compensation? Nowhere.

And yet that is precisely what is happening with a $20 billion fund to be provided by BP to compensate people harmed by their oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.
The $20 billion fund was arrived at absent due process of the law, Sowell argues, which is a dangerous precedent that will lead to the imposition of tyranny ostensibly "for the good of the people." In his article, Sowell describes how arbitrary power grabs and over-stepping constitutional bounds was the underpinning of the Nazi regime.

A Conflict of Visions

On Page 385 of Going Rogue, Gov. Palin provided a cogent synopsis of Sowell's Conflict of Visions:
People who adhere to the unconstrained vision (the label applied to them is "liberal" or "left-wing") believe that human nature is changeable (therefore perfectible) and that society's problems can all be solved if only the poor, ignorant, disorganized public is told what to do and rational plans are enacted. And who better to make those plans than an elite bureaucracy pulling the strings and organizing society according to their master blueprint?
Gov Palin continued,
Conservatives believe in the "constrained" political vision because we know that human nature is flawed and that there are limitations to what can be done in Washington to "fix" society's problems....we do not ignore history's lessons and waste time chasing utopian pipe dreams.
Conclusion

Gov. Palin wrote on p. 386 of Going Rogue,
We don't trust utopian promises from politicians. The role of government is not to perfect us but to protect us -- to protect our inalienable rights. The role of government in a civil society is to protect the individual and to establish a social contract so that we can live together in peace.
The foregoing clearly indicates a stark difference in visions between Gov. Palin and the entire Obama administration. Gov. Palin clearly supports limited federal government, and adherence to the Constitution, in this case the Tenth Amendment - enumerated powers. She subscribes to the constrained vision.

Obama clearly subscribes to the un-constrained vision with its concomitant centralized state planning bureaus, czars and commissars. As pointed out both by Gov. Palin and Obama his own words, he wants to "fundamentally transform" these United States. The past 65 days give a good glimpse as to where this transformation will lead. Obama wants us to be not a Shining City on a Hill, but a bankrupt, third rate, third world, ineffective thugocracy.

Regardless of his political leanings, Obama is absolutely unfit to serve. He is not a leader, not a commander-in-chief and not conducting himself as a President. He is not the best man for the job. None of the men who are presumed to be running for 2012 against him are the best men for job either.

Landslide! Nikki Haley and Tim Scott Win Big In South Carolina GOP Runoff!

What a great night for common sense conservatism. Two really strong candidates, Nikki Haley and Tim Scott won their runoff contests by huge margins, as expected. Both candidates are solid reformers, and both candidates are endorsed by Sarah Palin.

The latest results have Haley with a 26 point victory, and Scott winning an absolute blowout with a 38 point margin over his rival.

From Fox News.com:

State Rep. Nikki Haley, an Indian American woman, smashed a glass ceiling in South Carolina politics Tuesday by winning her bid to represent the Republican Party in November's gubernatorial race.

Haley is the first South Carolina woman to lead a major party ticket and will face Democratic state Sen. Vincent Sheheen to succeed term-limited Gov. Mark Sanford.

Haley was little known just months ago, but got a crucial boost with early support from former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin and the Tea Party movement.

Haley beat U.S. Rep. Gresham Barrett in Tuesday's runoff, riding the backlash against the state's notoriously rough-and-tumble politics.

She picked up the support of former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin and popular former South Carolina first lady Jenny Sanford.

With her victory, state Rep. Haley moved one step closer to becoming the first female governor in the conservative-leaning state. She brushed aside allegations of marital infidelity and an ethnic slur to come within a percentage point of winning the gubernatorial nod outright on June 8. And with 40 percent of the precincts reporting in the runoff, she led with 63 percent of the vote to Rep. Gresham Barrett's 37 percent.

[Tim] Scott, also a state lawmaker, hoped to become South Carolina's first black GOP congressman in more than a century. Scott, who has the backing of several Republican leaders in Washington, led Paul Thurmond, the son of the late U.S. Sen. and former segregationist Strom Thurmond in the runoff. The GOP-leaning district stretches down the Carolina coast and includes Fort Sumter where the first shots of the Civil War were fired.

If elected to the House, Scott would be the GOP's first black lawmaker since Oklahoma's J.C. Watts retired in 2003.

You can read more here.

This is outstanding news for America, and yet another step towards taking our country back, but as we all know, we still have a battle ahead. We now have to turn these landslide primary victories to huge wins come November.

If you haven’t already, check out Nikki’s website www.nikkihaley.com From there you can follower her on Facebook and Twitter.

For those not familiar with Tim Scott, here’s a short video that sums up his philosophy nicely:

Barack Obama, George Soros, Petrobas, And The Real Reason Why Obama Is Trying To Halt American Oil Production: A Crime Inc. Update

By Gary P Jackson

We first reported on the fact that Barack Obama and his boss George Soros teamed up to make billions of dollars in the oil business, the day the $10 billion dollar gift to Brazil was announced almost a year ago. Sadly, outside of the blogs, no one has reported on this major scandal at all, except Glenn Beck, who has recently taken notice.

I mean how hard is this one to put together? You’ve got Nazi sympathizer George Soros, the self proclaimed "owner of the democrat party" purchasing controlling interest in Brazilian oil giant Petrobas, then just a couple of days later, Barack Obama "loans" the country of Brazil $10 billion, which is then given to .... wait for it .... Petrobas. Glenn keeps saying it's $2 billion, but the commitment is for $10 billion.

You can read our most previous offerings on this incredible corruption here and here.

It’s simply incredible that no one is screaming for Obama and Soros’ arrest here. This is obvious corruption on an industrial scale. This is Obama "never letting a crisis go to waste."

Now I’m not going to suggest that Obama or Soros, or anyone else had anything to do with the BP oil spill in the Gulf. It was a tragic accident, brought on by massive incompetence from all involved, including the government inspectors. With that said, this plays right into the Obama regime’s hands.

Obama, in an effort to help his boss Soros make billions, was already looking at ways to shut down oil production nationwide. This oil spill just made it easy as pie.

Glenn Beck has done a great job of exposing all of the criminals, radicals, and nerdowells, that make up the Obama regime, and the hangers on who look to make huge profits with Obama’s Crime Inc. On Monday, Glenn did a magnificent job of laying out the case against Obama and Soros:

Again, one must ask, why isn’t someone looking to perp walk Obama across the White House lawn on this deal? It’s incredibly obvious what this set up is. Soros is incredibly powerful, and funds hundreds of groups that spend their days trying to undermine the American way, but even so, this is pretty simple to figure out, and you’d think someone would have the guts to go after this bunch, and seek criminal indictments.

Of course, Obama is a multi-tasker, so not only is he using the BP oil spill to help Soros make billions, he’s also using it to try and pass massive "climate change" legislation, that will include a draconian cap and tax scheme, which will, as Obama has often said, make our energy prices "necessarily skyrocket."

Part of the cap and tax scenario includes a "carbon credit" trading scheme. In essence, folks will be arbitrarily given so many "carbon credits" but if they exceed the imaginary (and arbitrary) limits of allowed "pollution" they will have to either shut their activities down, or purchase "carbon credits" from those who haven’t reached their limits.

This is where Obama and Crime Inc. really look to clean up. (pardon the pun) The Chicago Climate Exchange, where all of these "carbon credits" will be traded, was funded by Obama, during his time on the board of a far left Joyce Foundation. The Chicago Climate Exchange will make money off of each transaction.

This is the Greatest Swindle In Human History © and those involved stand to make, not billions, but TENS of TRILLIONS of DOLLARS from this scam. And indeed, it’s nothing but a scam. This, BTW, is WHY your energy bills will "necessarily skyrocket." All of this carbon trading will add incredible costs to every single product you buy, or activity you engage in, but energy, which is a particularly dirty business, will be hit hard, and have to purchase insane amounts of these credits. They will pass the costs on to the consumer.

Carbon dioxide is not a pollutant. Every time you exhale, you emit carbon dioxide. Plants can’t live without it. In fact, through photosynthesis, plants take CO2 and use it to create oxygen.

This is simply a manufactured crisis that Obama and the likes of Al Gore, Maurice Strong, and others are using in an attempt to become wealthy beyond anyone’s wildest dreams. All of them are owners, along with Goldman Sachs, of the Chicago Climate Exchange. You can read a lot more here and here.

Oh, and it gets better. As Stacy Drake points out here, BP is very much involved with Obama and the entire "climate change" agenda. BP wants to get it’s share of those TRILLIONS of dollars too!

As we point out here, the idea of America getting off of oil within our lifetimes (or our kids, or their kid’s) is highly unlikely, considering that we’ve spent the better part of a century, and untold billions, trying, with few positive results.

In fact, everything you have been told by the left about our energy reserves is a lie. Chad Stafko over at the American Thinker points out that America has over three centuries (300 years) of recoverable oil reserves.

According to a June 2008 article in Kiplinger Magazine, the United States has enough oil reserves to power the nation for upwards of three centuries. That's three hundred years, Mr. President. We are not running out of oil reserves -- it's just that those oil reserves have been declared off-limits due to decades of environmental lobbying of our politicians, especially those on the Left. This lobbying has driven the likes of BP and others out deep into the Gulf of Mexico to extract the nation's needed oil.

Note the following statement from the article:

... untapped reserves are estimated at about 2.3 trillion barrels, nearly three times more than the reserves held by Organization of Petroleum Exporting Counties (OPEC) and sufficient to meet 300 years of demand-at today's levels-for auto, aircraft, heating and industrial fuel, without importing a single barrel of oil.

You can read more here.

What Obama, Soros, Gore, and the rest of Crime Inc. are up to is not only criminal, it’s immoral. Oil is the lifeblood of any economy. Remember, petroleum is used in more than just motor fuels and lubricants. Petroleum is used to manufacture plastics, medicines, literally thousands of products.

It’s also an issue of national security. We send somewhere between $700 billion and $1 trillion out of the country annually to buy crude oil. A good amount of that money goes to countries that hate us, and use this money to actively work against us. It’s insane.

Sarah Palin wrote about this recently, which we talk about here.

To sum this up, Barack Obama, George Soros, and others look to get incredibly rich off of these two schemes, and as a bonus, they get to completely and totally destroy the United States economy, in hopes of rebuilding America as a communist utopia.

These people are evil, pure and simple. Sadly, nothing will happen until the American people demand it, and demand it vigorously. If you are one of those who just sit on the couch and complain, it’s time to get up and get involved. We must stop all of this, and send these people, all of these people, to prison, where they belong.

Stanislaus Protest Planned, an Exercise in Futility; Updated

By Adrienne Ross - www.motivationtruth.com

Governor Palin will be speaking at Stanislaus University this Friday, June 25th. Much has been made of this particular speaking engagement with people complaining about the Governor being the choice to headline the school's 50th anniversary celebration. They have hidden behind what they hoped would appear to be reasonable arguments for their protest, but those arguments simply don't hold water.

Look, if school officials would disqualify a "polarizing and divisive celebrity with no connection to our school or community," as one person coined her, perhaps they need to re-examine the reason for fundraisers. The last time I checked, the institution was proceeding on the common sense theory that she would raise a plethora of cash for them during a time when finances are needed. By the way, if schools, organizations, or companies only invited speakers who were connected to them personally, most people would be wiped out of consideration from the jump.

Complaining about the fee is also disingenuous. The original fee was not coming out of the school's pocket, so what's the beef? You pay no money out but receive an abundance of money in while hosting the former vice presidential nominee--and whining ensues? Let's get real. These ridiculous complaints are just smokescreens to hide a larger political agenda, as Bill O'Reilly exposed when he interviewed two students from the university. He allowed them to have their say, but he ended the segment by showing them for the obsessive partisans they are. His final point:

I don't think you're being quite honest with us. Mrs. Palin has already passed on her speaking fee and is bringing in money to the university. So it seems that even if you don't like her philosophy, she is doing good for the college. C'mon! This is ideology!

Of course it is. And their hatin' ways have yielded no rewards, for Governor Palin will indeed grace Stanislaus University this week with her common sense appeal. However, it will not go forward without some planned drama.

The word on the street is that Craigslist in San Francisco has posted a protest of Governor Palin's visit. And what a protest. Apparently the issue now is not the fee, the Governor's "polarizing" power, or her lack of connection to the school. No, they've called on old faithful. They're protesting her "racism, bigotry, and hate." What complete loons. And is it just me or do her recent endorsements belie their claim? Just saying. Indeed, these people have built air castles and moved in, and the voices inside their heads are getting the best of them.

The call to the protest reads:

Protest Sarah Palin & the Tea Party!
Friday June 25
12:00 PM - 10:00 PM

CSU, Stanislaus, Turlock
Meet at the corner of Monte Vista and Geer Rd.

A CALL FOR UNITY AGAINST RACISM, BIGOTRY, AND HATE!
Protest Sarah Palin & the Tea Party on June 25th

The CSU, Stanislaus community rejects Sarah Palin and her Tea Party! We are a community of working class immigrants and people of color who have been historically silenced and pushed aside by the right-wing elite that dominates our Central Valley. We will be silent no more! We urge our brothers and sisters through out California to support our struggle against the hate and racism destroying our communities.

Join us on June 25th, 2010 at CSU, Stanislaus and help us show that Palin’s agenda of hate, racism, and right-wing reactionary politics is not welcome in the Central Valley or in California!

Of course these nuts have no evidence for their allegations, as they never do. They simply throw out their own hate speech and rely on silly, gullible people to jump on board in agreement, people at a loss for how to handle their paralyzing fear of Governor Palin who is kicking their butts in every single debate in which she chooses to engage. The fact that she's making their president look like the unprepared community organizer that he is doesn't do anything to endear herself to them either. So...you know the script: "racism, bigotry, and hate." After all, anyone who sat in Jeremiah Wright's church for twenty years must...Oh wait, that was someone else. Sounds like some people are projecting.

If you're in the area Friday and can show up and demonstrate your support for Governor Palin, go for it. Drop a line to @palintwibe or email palintwibe@yahoo.com to say you'll be there. As many as can, please go and respectfully make a statement that Americans are tired of the games, the politics-as-usual, the racebaiting.

I believe it's safe to say the Stanislaus protest will be as futile as the protests that have come before. The Governor is not going to sit down and shut up, no matter how loudly the Palin-deranged scream out--and neither are we.

Update: It appears that Bill O'Reilly misspoke when he said that Governor Palin passed on her speaking fee, or perhaps he meant she has already brought in more than her fee. In any case, my point still remains because the university didn't have to pay out for the Governor. As the university president has said, "This event is being 100 percent funded with fresh, private money coming into the foundation" (http://www.modbee.com/2010/03/29/1107171/turlock-uproar-on-csu-stanislaus.html). I, for one, am glad she is getting paid. It's simple: those who work are worthy of their pay.

Chumming For Liberals

-from Patrick's World USA

Sarah Palin was a hard working governor with a record high approval rating in Alaska when she was selected to be John McCain's running mate. She governed as a pragmatic, commonsense conservative who would work with everyone except the corrupt. Up until the point when she hit the national stage, the media and the elites saw a clear road ahead in achieving its dream of installing Barack Obama as president. With the coming of Palin, however, that changed. As a result of the threat she represented, she became the hunted and was nearly destroyed by a rash of frivolous ethics complaints and slanderous coverage from the so called "mainstream" media. Today, the tables have turned. She is now the huntress.

It's been said that in order for conservatives to win elections, they would have to present a stark contrast between what they stood for and what their liberal opponents stood for. There is no starker contrast than that between what Barack Obama represents and what Sarah Palin represents. In this lies her path to victory as a conservative leader and potentially as president.

While conservatives in general have become more aggressive out of necessity (they've gone from being the silent majority to the "angry mob" at Tea parties and at town halls), Palin in particular has charted a course directly into the headwind of liberalism. With first hand knowledge of what the press can do to someone like her, she has chosen not to retreat, but to reload with a new found optimism and spirit of defiance. She was once an unprotected moose out in the open during hunting season while governor of Alaska in the post election days leading up to her resignation.

Just when the liberals thought they had her, she went into a self imposed exile to write her book and emerged armed to the teeth with a brigade of loyal followers, a speaking tour, a Fox News gig, a Facebook page and a Twitter account. The "monster in liberals' eyes" had only been made stronger by the challenges they put before her.

Those who thought Palin was a snapshot in time or a caricature portrayed on Saturday Night Live got it wrong. The idea that the "idiot-woman" as Keith Olbermann described her would go back to Alaska and never be heard from again was a meme the liberals tried to force artificially on the stubborn reality where the fabric of existence can not only be stretched by time, but by truth, work ethic and relentless self improvement. If you thought she was big in 2008, just wait until 2012. Sarah Palin, as this blogger has always said, is an evolving candidate. Amy Siskund writes that "Palin is busy emerging, evolving and redefining."

Evolving from what? She was the rock star in 2008 who drew crowds with tears in their eyes because they knew that this was truly the woman who could save our country. The crowd in Minneapolis saw the spirit of Ronald Reagan speak to them out of the mouth of a woman who described herself as a "pitbull with lipstick." She kicked Joe Biden's ass in the vice presidential debate. Those things may have seemed big back then, but they are nothing compared to where Sarah Palin is going. What's scary about her evolution is that despite some stumbles along the way in the beginning, you could already sense the greatness. That was just the starting point.

What do you think she's doing when she gets the president to say there are no “death panels that will pull the plug on Grandma” during a town hall meeting. What do you think she's doing when she gets the president to say “Last I checked, Sarah Palin's not much of an expert on nuclear issues.” What do you think she's doing when she gets Robert Gibbs to write on his hand?

And let's not forget the latest dangling of the yarn string in front of the gullible liberal cats with this tweet:
RahmEmanuel= as shallow/narrowminded/political/irresponsible as they come,to falsely claim Barton's BP comment is "GOP philosophy"Rahm,u lie
To which White House spokesman Bill Burton, filling in for Robert Gibbs, responded "if she (Palin) doesn't want to own Congressman (Joe) Barton's comments, that doesn't surprise me."

Emanuel used Barton's comments during Congressional hearings to claim that they are representative of the philosophy of the Republican party. As we all know, the Republican party quickly chided Barton for his comments and Palin wielded her rhetorical sword on behalf of the GOP with her tweet.

Sarah Palin is all over Obama like oil on the gulf. He can't stop the leak nor can he stop her from pointing out his every misstep. The woman who was once under the microscope for her clothing, her children, the most minor of misspeaks and for every other little nuance the mainstream media either made up or blew up into a mountain from a mole hill is now standing over the magnifying device and just savoring the specimen's slow decline.

Sarah Palin is making heads spin. When the smoke clears and all the yarn strings have been dangled, we will know exactly where everyone stands. Palin brings out the best in good people and the worst in bad people. It may get ugly, but for those who can't fully get on board with her because they are afraid of what the media will do to her or think she has political baggage because of miscues in the last campaign, remember the guy in the Miller Lite commercial and check your purse at the door.

The blood you smell is blood in the water. Sarah is on her rhetorical fishing boat and she is chumming for liberals. She may even be chumming for some good ole boy Republican insiders, too. Don't let that scare you. Because once the sharks all come to the surface like they are now in the Washington Post, Huffington Post, at the White House and across the internet, she is going to spear them like the beasts they are and have them for dinner. She always eats what she kills.

And the nourishment we will all get from rhetorically dead liberals is the nourishment we will need to muster up the strength and the courage that will be necessary to not only defeat those who are destroying this once shining city of a nation, but to rebuild it and restore it the greatness it once knew.
