If it is so important to the left to stop Sarah Palin from running for President, then it is that much more important that she run - and win!

I'm glad Governor Palin addressed this issue. I just think it's a pity she had to. This is where Palin Derangement Syndrome has taken us. A slip of the tongue becomes big-time news when the slip was made by someone named Palin. The salivating, rabid reprobates (i.e., the media) cannot even be internally honest enough to admit even to themselves that the Governor simply misspoke, as we all do from time to time. Instead, they pretend that she doesn't know the difference between North and South Korea. No matter that her previous conversations show that she, of course, not only knows the difference, but is well aware of the issues at play. All truth is sold out for a cheap gotcha moment. Meanwhile, President Obama or then-candidate Obama can make gaffe after gaffe without hardly a word from the lamestream media. Such hypocrisy. This is precisely why people are fed up with politics--from both sides of the aisle.
Of course, the paragraph above is based on a series of misstatements and verbal gaffes made by Barack Obama (I didn’t have enough time to do one for Joe Biden). YouTube links are provided just in case you doubt the accuracy of these all too human slips-of-the-tongue. If you can’t remember hearing about them, that’s because for the most part the media didn’t consider them newsworthy. I have no complaint about that. Everybody makes the occasional verbal gaffe – even newsanchors.
Obviously, I would have been even more impressed if the media showed some consistency on this issue. Unfortunately, it seems they couldn’t resist the temptation to turn a simple one word slip-of-the-tongue of mine into a major political headline. The one word slip occurred yesterday during one of my seven back-to-back interviews wherein I was privileged to speak to the American public about the important, world-changing issues before us.
If the media had bothered to actually listen to all of my remarks on Glenn Beck’s radio show, they would have noticed that I refer to South Korea as our ally throughout, that I corrected myself seconds after my slip-of-the-tongue, and that I made it abundantly clear that pressure should be put on China to restrict energy exports to the North Korean regime. The media could even have done due diligence and checked my previous statements on the subject, which have always been consistent, and in fact even ahead of the curve. But why let the facts get in the way of a good story? (And for that matter, why not just make up stories out of thin air – like the totally false hard news story which has run for three days now reporting that I lobbied the producers of “Dancing with the Stars” to cast a former Senate candidate on their show. That lie is further clear proof that the media completely makes things up without doing even rudimentary fact-checking.)
“Hope springs eternal” as the poet says. Let’s hope that perhaps, just maybe, they might get it right next time. When we the people are effective in holding America’s free press accountable for responsible and truthful reporting, then we shall all have even more to be thankful for!
There's something to be said for learning from the mistakes of others. Yet when it comes to Governor Palin, people can't seem to do that. After Michael Joseph Gross's Vanity Fair article that brought shame on him when, one after another, real sources debunked his anonymous sources, Jonathan Martin of Politico puts himself in the same boat with his hit piece.
His article, "Sarah Palin is wreaking havoc on the campaign trail, GOP sources say" makes all types of claims about the Governor, accusing her of being difficult to work with, unaccommodating, and totally unorganized--rude and incompetent basically. He cites "sources" to substantiate his claims. His hit piece has come crashing down on his head, and a retraction and apology are in order. Many are calling for just that.
He claims, for example, that she has rudely backed out of interviews with Mark Levin and Glenn Beck. Lies! In fact, Beck calls it an "out and out lie." Outraged, here's what he said about this "trash":
Mark Levin calls the piece "a flat out lie" and says "Sarah Palin never backed out of any interview with me." Listen:
Johnny, Johnny, Johnny...ya just made big mistake lying about Levin, Beck, Rush...U can lie about me, but taking on the Big Guns? Not smart
The hit piece also states that Governor Palin snubbed the Grassley and King campaigns in Iowa. Lies! My fellow blogger and truth seeker, Shane Vander Hart, contacted them himself. This is what Shane wrote (emphasis added):
Eric Woolson, spokesperson for Senator Chuck Grassley’s campaign, for the record said, that the anonymous source “does not represent the Senator’s views.” So evidently Senator Grassley was not displeased with any interaction they had with the Palin camp.
[...]
I have yet to contact the Iowa GOP and will follow-up, but I did talk with Jeff King with Congressman King’s campaign he said that they “didn’t have any inkling that we’d get her for a rally. We would love to have her though.” He said they did not expect that it would work out. He said nobody from their campaign talked with Martin and they certainly don’t have any complaints about Palin.
Click here to read Shane Vander Hart's full article, which Governor Palin retweeted yesterday.
Various other sources, including Big Journalism, also demand a retraction or blast this piece of crap that Politico calls journalism. C4P even received the following from Charlie Davis, CEO of the Southern Republican Leadership Conference (SRLC). It's an email they sent to Martin himself:
Hey Jonathan,
Hope you're doing well. Just read your article on Palin and wanted to add my two cents. (this wasn't requested by anybody and feel free to quote me if you'd like)
As you know the 2010 SRLC was the largest Republican Leadership Conference in 30 years, with more speakers, more press and more attendees than ever before. Governor Palin's staff was incredibly easy to deal with and very professional.
I interacted with every major GOP personality in the country leading up to the conference and can tell you first hand that the only thing different about Governor Palin was the intensity of the interest from the attendees, sponsors and even other speakers.
She's easily the most requested surrogate our party has and it's a shame that Republicans would rather gripe that they can't get more of her time instead of being appreciative of everything that she does do.

Today, Governor Palin discussed the issue with Glenn Beck on his radio show. Her modus operandi is to call it as she sees it, so she called Martin a "punk."
This post is just a buffet of information gathered from my colleagues who care about truth and honesty, who are committed to holding people accountable for what they say and do. The behavior of some who fancy themselves professionals is deplorable. More than that, it's just plain stupid. These people simply never learn their lesson, nor do they learn from those who have tried the same tactics and failed--over and over again. Palin Derangement Syndrome, with its accompanying fear and desperation, have disabled all their reasoning capabilities.
Those of you who are not yet convinced that there is an all-out determination to destroy Governor Palin, no matter what, please open your eyes. If you really care about truth, embrace it, and work to expose and destroy its enemies everywhere they surface. Governor Palin would be the first to tell you that the words she speaks and the actions she exemplifies should be evaluated as others' are. However, the lies, the slander, and the attacks on her character are beyond the pale. What her character assassins are not willing to accept, however, is that none of it will cause her to wander off message, cower in fear, or retreat. It only fires her up even more--and fires up those of us who stand in her corner.
Yesterday was an eventful day throughout the United States, because on this day 9 years ago, America and it's people were changed forever. "Time heals all wounds" is the saying, but the wounds are still fresh for many of us, especially for those who lost loved ones on that fateful day. Alaskans, like the rest of America, spent the day honoring and remembering those sacrifices and reflecting on what it means to be an American in the Great State of Alaska.
The early part of this day found me wishing I was somewhere else. My email, facebook and Blackberry were buzzing with the two planned events of the day all of my friends were attending without me - the "Standing Strong For America" rally put on by the Conservative Patriots Group, the most active Tea Party group in the state of Alaska, and the Glen Beck event to be held in Anchorage later that evening. I spent the morning texting and calling friends while on a road trip to Fairbanks. I was over 400 miles away and would not be able to attend either event. Everyone was excited and as the morning wore into the afternoon, I found myself feeling more disconnected from everything that was going on. Then, I had a reality check.
In a parking lot in Fairbanks was a car, a PT Cruiser, with murals painted on all sides and the back. It was a private vehicle honoring Marines and on one side was the picture of a Marine saluting at a funeral. It hit me at that moment, on this day, that my desire to attend these events and be with friends had overshadowed the importance of the day itself. This is a day to hold sacred, to honor those who gave the ultimate sacrifice, and to never forget. I will never forget and let us pray this nation will always remember. In that spirit, and in remembrance, I'd like to share these images and thoughts, with the help of Julie Gillette. Julie is the current president of the Valley Republican Women's Club, the club I was president of until late June of this year when I relocated. Julie has done a wonderful job as club president. She is a true patriot, a female veteran like myself, a mother and wife, and I am grateful for her help with this post and most of all, her friendship.
The "Standing Strong For America" Rally in Wasilla, Alaska
This rally was held at the Curtis D. Menard Memorial Sports Complex in Wasilla, Alaska. Sponsored by the Conservative Patriots Group (CPG), it was billed as a non-partisan event to remember and honor the significance of the day. Several groups were invited and attended the event. According to Julie, Alaska Senate Candidate Scott McAdams was invited but did not return calls to CPG and was not in attendance. The Valley Republican Women's Club (VRWC) was in attendance, however, and had a table with information which was manned by several board members to include Carol Doner, Julie Gillette, Carol Ryan, and Jill Frost (pictured below).
Various media outlets speculated there were about 300 in attendance, but according to Julie Gillette, the actual number was around 450. "There were 400 chairs set up and they were full and there were a few people standing in the back as well as the volunteers," said Julie. I'm not surprised considering the fact that conservative event attendance numbers are often downplayed by the mainstream media. Here is a photo from the Anchorage Daily News confirming Julie's standing room only account:
The event began with a singing of the National Anthem by Adele Morgan, a very talented local artist (seen here with Julie's husband Glen).
Dick Stoffel led the Pledge of Allegience and then CPG President Jen Bettine kicked things off. Glen Beigel spoke briefly and then Wasilla Mayor Verne Rupright spoke of his military service and reminded everyone never to forget the events of this day in history. Joe Miller then took the stage. According to the Anchorage Daily News report (ADN),"Miller said the nation was attacked on Sept. 11 'because we're American.' He said the U.S. is a threat to its enemies because of its 'exceptionalism,' its freedoms and constitutional restraint of government.
'We as a nation have been activated. We've been activated through 9/11. We're now activated in a political sense,' Miller said. 'We see a movement across the United States right now that is moving this country in a direction that restores foundations, that restores constitutional principles and makes us proud to be Americans again.'"
Sarah Palin was then introduced as a surprise speaker, to the crowd's delight. "I thank you from the bottom of my heart for not just welcoming me in my hometown but for being who you are, true patriots holding on to time-tested truths. Knowing some basic principles that again the rest of America I think can learn from so many Alaskans who believe this -- those time-tested truths that are based on the government that governs least governs best," Palin said (according to the ADN report
The mood of those in attendance was described by Julie:
"There were definitely a few tears through the slide show and silence as people relived the day of the attacked. The bagpipes and the timing of playing them at the end of the slide show left many with wet eyes. I was hanging in there until he started playing. Adele Morgan’s beautiful rendition of the National Anthem was amazing. It also created some watery eyes. Mood was mostly positive and upbeat, especially when Joe Miller and Sarah Palin spoke."
The event lasted about 2 hours and then Julie described a special moment for herself and her husband Glenn:
"I had Glenn take a picture of us at the table before it got really busy. We were not initially going to try to get pictures with Sarah because she was swarmed with people. After the crowd died down, someone motioned to Carol Ryan that we should run over and get pictures before she left. Glenn has taken several pictures of me or our group with Sarah over the past 10 years. He finally got one for himself. We’re so glad to have had the opportunity because she was not able to stick around for the Glenn Beck Meet & Greet, she had a plane to catch."
I agree with Julie in that the CPG did an amazing job putting on this event. Here is the picture with the group, and with Julie's husband Glenn. Also included is an ADN photo of Joe Miller Speaking to Glenn.

Glenn Beck comes to Anchorage
Alaska conservatives and Glenn Beck supporters were anxious to see Beck in Anchorage. The doors to the Dena'ina Center were opened and thousands of people who were standing in a line that wrapped around the building, started to file in. Julie said she saw many people she knew, but also many new faces in the crowd of attendees. Kristan Cole, who tweeted earlier that she had been invited to sit with the family, was up front, along with Sarah's mother Sally Heath and other family members. Chuck Heath was not present, however. According to Sally, he was moose hunting! (it is the season here in Alaska).
There were also a few protesters. "They hid behind masks and some blamed George Bush for 9/11. As a retired Air Force member, that loses me everytime," said Julie. "There was a lady with a sign saying not to vote for Joe Miller but she was peaceful and we told her what makes this country great is she has the right to hold that sign." She also described the reactions of those waiting in line to get in to these protesters. "The people around me either ignored them or laughed but it was that laughter followed by the sentiment that we knew these guys would get more press than the actual event. There was a reporter in the room that we heard say to another reporter, 'Look at all these fanatics!'"
First Sarah introduced Glenn, they spoke together, and then Glenn spoke. The mood during the presentation was generally upbeat and acknowledging. "(There was)Cheering, heads nodding in agreement. Eagerness for information, quiet, you could hear a pin drop when he spoke of serious issues and applause to take the roof off when he spoke of smaller government and us taking care of our neighbors so the government doesn’t have to," said Julie.
Near the beginning of the event, as can be seen in one of the clips below, there was a heckler. It has been widely reported that conservative radio talk show host, and former Republican candidate for Lt. Governor, Eddie Burke assisted in "removing" this disruptive attendee. I spoke with Eddie earlier this evening and he gave me his version of the event:
"I was sitting in the front row one seat from the aisle, in front of the stage and Sarah as she was speaking. There were a lot of people coming forward and snapping pictures and then going back to their seats, so at first I didn't really pay much attention to this woman. She appeared to be in her 30's. I'm not sure exactly where she came from, but she stood there and then yelled out "You're a hippocrit!" directly to Sarah. Everyone started booing her. I was within arm's reach of her and the booing was so loud I couldn't hear what else she said, but she was still talking. I stood up and moved toward her, and to use one of Sarah's lines from one of her speeches, I said 'Quit making things up!' At that point, Sarah pointed to me and said 'Thanks Eddie. Eddie Burke, folks.' Security came and they escorted her out. I got a kick out of Sarah's comment about us all knowing each other here, and then Beck made the reply about it being like a high school gymnasium. Afterward, many people came up to me and shook my hand. Many of them asked me when I would be back on the radio and told me that they missed my show. Even more folks commented that they voted for me in the recent election. It was, I have to say, pretty humbling."
Joe Miller was also in the crowd and up front with Sarah and family. Per Julie, "Many times the crowd yelled out 'Joe Miller will get us back on the right path.' Sarah mentioned he was there and there was huge applause for Joe. She promoted him, but the crowd also yelled his name when discussing solutions to America’s problems."
I asked Julie what Glenn Beck's main message was:
"Faith – find a religion and be grounded with the Creator. Hope – we can turn things around but each one of us has the duty and responsibility to make that happen and it is hard work. Don’t sit on the couch channel surfing. Get out there and serve. That brought is to Charity, tithe, join a church and tithe. Serve your neighbors. We are the largest contributors as a Country, we give more than all other countries combined. Give so the people are not owned by the government. And, did I mention he really doesn’t like Woodrow Wilson?"
Here are a few of Julie's photos from the Glenn Beck event:
A packed house, again despite media reports

There was a meet and greet with Glenn Beck afterward. Julie and Eddie both described their experience. Per Julie,
"Each person got about 30 seconds with him and there were about 250 people. He was so exhausted. I was in the last group. Poor guy had flown all this distance, spoke all night brilliantly, then had to sign his name 250 times. He made sure he personally shook everyone’s hand. I was given two challenges, one to get a picture of him wearing a club shirt. Well, 30 seconds did not allow that so I decided instead to just give him the shirt for an autograph to be used for fundraising. So,the consolation prize was to have him in a picture with the shirt. The other challenge was to get a picture between my 2 favorite Glenns. That was a no brainer! I did tell him I was president (of the club) and that Sarah and her family were inspiring and that I appreciate him including her tonight."
For Eddie, it was also a brief encounter. "I'm a member of AA and so is he (Beck)... He said. "It saved my life." I responded, "Mine too."
Julie said for her, it was the best day ever. "I was surrounded by American patriots. It gives me hope for a bright future. I met and got pictures with my 2 favorite rock stars, Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck. Our Founding Fathers live in the people I was privileged to participate with today. It was an honor to be part of the CPG event and an honor to shake the hand of a man that is willing to take a stand."
Although I was not there, I am grateful for the friendships events like these have brought me, and they help me remember what being an American is all about. Faith, Family, Freedom. What more does one need?
Below are a couple of videos that have already been widely circulated on the internet. They are from Nina Stone, a facebook friend of mine who was gracious enough to allow me to use these, even before they went viral. Nina is a talented writer, and I know there are many of you out there who are interested in all things Alaskan. Here is a link to her latest Alaskan novel, On The Wings Of Love. Please check it out!

Video of Sarah and Glenn, including the moment with that wonderful heckler
Time and time again, people jump the gun in their determination to characterize Governor Palin as someone unworthy of America's trust. And time and time again, they are proven wrong.
Today's complaints centered around the teaming of Glenn Beck and the Governor on 9/11 in Alaska, which was announced here. Without knowing the facts, people have run off at the mouth, accusing them of profitting from this event. Jonathan Capehart is one such person. He writes:
"Restoring America" apparently wasn't enough for Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck. They now appear to be cashing in on the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.
[...]
If building a Muslim community center dedicated to human understanding and tolerance two blocks from Ground Zero "stabs hearts," then how should taking money from people at an event "to commemorate 9/11" be described? Disrespectful. Distatesful. Shameful. Greedy. Narcissistic. Did I leave any adjectives out?
No, you just left the facts out. So let's set the record straight on Governor Palin--again.
A Beck spokesperson says Sarah Palin is not receiving an appearance fee, and Beck is donating his to charity.
"Glenn had always intended to donate the speaking fee from the event on Saturday, September 11th in Alaska to Special Operations Warrior Foundation. Governor Palin is not and was never going to receive a fee for introducing Glenn at this event," a spokesperson for Glenn Beck told CNN.
Governor Palin appeared briefly on the "Glenn Beck Show" today, via video. As my Conservatives4Palin comrade, Sinistar, pointed out earlier, she certainly doesn't appear to be the person Mr. Gross depicted in his Vanity Fair hit piece.
Yesterday, Kelsey relayed the story of how Viet Nam vet, Dave Roever was interviewed on the Glenn Beck show and how the Palins hearing that Mr. Roever was in need of a television studio offered the use of theirs. In addition to the generosity of opening their home, Governor Palin rejected the talk of Mr. Roever getting a makeup artist out there to prep him for taping and offered to do it herself. Quite a different image of her than what you might think if you got all your news from Vanity Fair, huh?
The National Review reports Governor Palin's backstage comments at the Restoring Honor Rally when asked about how Dr. King would feel about today:
I hope that Dr. King would be so proud of us, as his niece Dr. Alveda King is very proud as a participant in this rally,” Palin says. “This is sacred ground where we feel his spirit and can appreciate all of his efforts. He who so believed in equality and may we live up to his challenge.
I believe Dr. King would indeed be proud of what took place on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial today, in spite of what Al Sharpton had to say. It is quite a shame, albeit not a surprise, that Sharpton would use his rally, not far from the Lincoln Memorial, to bash the efforts of Glenn Beck, Governor Palin, and Dr. King's own niece, Dr. Alveda King, among others.
Unlike Sharpton's tactics, those involved in the Restoring Honor Rally were all about unity, hope, and faith in God. Not even the usual hot air from Al Sharpton was able to quench the fire and excitement of those present and those watching from home. And of course, those at the Lincoln Memorial were not spewing any hatred toward the Dr. King rally taking place nearby, but they did have plenty of good things to say about Dr. King, his dream, our nation, and our troops.
Sarah Palin will join Glenn Beck on August 28th in Washington, D.C. on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial for the Restoring Honor rally.
The mission of the rally is to recognize our First Amendment rights and honor the service members who fight to protect those freedoms.
Those attending will see a miniconcert by Jo Dee Messina, who won the CMA Horizon Award. Also lined up for the event are Gary Sinise, Marcus Luttrell, David Barton, Ted Nugent, and the largest collection of medal of honor winners that have ever been assembled.
"And to bring on the medal of honor winners, along with Gary Sinise, will be somebody that I selected... not for political reasons at all, but because I think she understands duty and honor, I think she understands...the first people that we have to point out before we go into the badge of merit are the people that have done remarkable things in wartime. She has a son who is serving currently. Sarah Palin will also be joining," Beck announced on his radio show.
Palin appeared on the Glenn Beck show and thanked Beck for the invitation. "I think it's going to be the most inspiring and for me personally the most humbling experience, could be of my lifetime, and I hope we have a million people there to honor our troops. I'm just so absolutely thrilled that you invited me and I wouldn't miss it for the world," Palin said.
You can also help raise funds for true American heroes by joining Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck for breakfast on August 28th before the rally. Visit this website to bid on an invitation only breakfast with both Palin and Beck. All proceeds from this auction go to the Special Operations Warrior Foundation, a non-profit charity serving the children of our fallen heroes.
At this point, it’s no secret that Barack Obama is not allowing the crisis in the Gulf of Mexico to "go to waste." Obama and his cronies see this as an opportunity to seize more control over the American people, and fatten up their wallets considerably by passing a cap and tax scheme.
An operative of mine passed me an email that is being sent out by Obama’s permanent campaign website Organizing for America:
Friend --
The BP oil spill in the Gulf Coast is the worst environmental disaster of its kind in our nation's history. I am returning to the region today to review our efforts and meet with families and business owners affected by the catastrophe.
We are working to hold BP accountable for the damage to the lands and the livelihoods of the Gulf Coast, and we are taking strong precautions to make certain a spill like this never happens again.
But our work will not end with this crisis. That's one of the reasons why last week I invited lawmakers from both parties to join me at the White House to discuss what it will take to move forward on legislation to promote a new economy powered by green jobs, combat climate change, and end our dependence on foreign oil.
Today, we consume more than 20 percent of the world's oil, but have less than two percent of the world's oil reserves. Beyond the risks inherent in drilling four miles beneath the surface of the Earth, our dependence on oil means that we will continue to send billions of dollars of our hard-earned wealth to other countries every month -- including many in dangerous and unstable regions.
In other words, our continued dependence on fossil fuels will jeopardize our national security. It will smother our planet. And it will continue to put our economy and our environment at risk. We cannot delay any longer, and that is why I am asking for your help.
Please stand with me today in backing clean energy. Adding your name will help Organizing for America create a powerful, public display of support for making this change happen
The time has come, once and for all, for this nation to fully embrace a new future. That means continuing our unprecedented effort to make everything -- from our homes and businesses to our cars and trucks -- more energy-efficient. It means rolling back billions of dollars of tax breaks to oil companies so we can prioritize investments in clean energy research and development.
Many businesses support this agenda because shifting to clean energy creates opportunities for entrepreneurship. This is how we will reinvent our economy -- and create new companies and new jobs all across the country.
There will be transition costs and a time of adjustment. But if we refuse to heed the warnings from the disaster in the Gulf -- we will have missed our best chance to seize the clean-energy future we know America needs to thrive in the years and decades to come.
The House of Representatives has already passed a comprehensive energy and climate bill, and there is currently a plan in the Senate -- a plan that was developed with ideas from Democrats and Republicans -- that would achieve the same goal. But this is an issue that Washington has long ignored in favor of protecting the status quo.
So I'm asking for your help today to show that the American people are ready for a clean-energy future.
Of course this is all a load of bull. The massive, draconian legislation Obama and his Marxist controlled Congress are pushing, has absolutely nothing to do with clean energy, but every thing to do with grabbing more power, and implementing a cap and tax scheme that will make Obama, and his cronies, TENS of TRILLIONS of DOLLARS richer in the years to come.
BTW, just how creepy is it that Obama is running a permanent political campaign, and has a symbol for himself. Do I even need to remind people who the last person was that had such a thing, and how that turned out?
While Obama is singly handedly destroying the American oil industry, and placing moratoriums on any exploration, his puppet master, George Soros, is looking to make billions with his Brazilian oil company, Petrobas.
You can read Obama’s Boss George Soros Ready To Profit From Oil Disaster, A Crime Inc. Update, and learn the whole story here.
Glenn Beck devoted his program yesterday to discussing the way the Obama regime looks to use the gulf oil spill for it’s own benefit, and the further enslavement of the American people:
If you are not familiar with Crime Inc., Obama’s circle of crooks who look to become wealthy beyond all dreams, you can familiarize yourself by reading here and here.
We are up for the fight of our life. If the Obama regime somehow passes this "clean energy" legislation, it’s all over. This will destroy America’s economy, and the nation itself. Obama and his Congress must be stopped and must be stopped now.
Once stopped, The American people must demand that Obama, and all of the members of Crime Inc., be investigated, and the proper actions taken. Obama is a criminal, and a thug. This is a proven fact. He must be impeached, and upon conviction, sent to prison, along with other Crime Inc. members. Justice demands it.
Call you Senators and Congressmen NOW and demand this nonsense come to a halt immediately, and for investigations to start. These Chicago Gangland tactics must stop. This is America, not some banana republic
As promised, a complete update on what is going on in Sarah Palin’s world. We were writing this earlier when we got yet more wild news, and felt we needed to get out it out there. Believe me, this was worth the wait!
To recap:
Sarah Palin has a new neighbor. Stacy Drake details that wonderful moment here.
Washington Post hack, Dave Weigel, proves to the world he’s a total douchebag, as we wrote here.
Ruth Marcus felt left out of the douchebaggery, as Stacy Drake points out here.
We found out that Joe McGinniss has a habit of stalking subjects of his so-called "journalism" and betrayed an innocent man, who is now in prison for murder, after being paid to help the guy, and pretending to be his friend. This one is a must read, here.
As Stacy Drake reported, here, things got even weirder with what we know is a load of BS, supposedly coming from the Palin’s neighbor.
OK, With that out of the way, let’s get to some new stuff, as of Thursday night.
Wednesday Sarah did a couple of radio interviews, starting with Glenn Beck:
The big news coming out of this interview is the fact Sarah will be appearing at Glenn Beck’s 8/28 Restoring Honor celebration in Washington, D.C.. You can bet she will add greatly to the event.
We all loved George Bush. The guy wasn’t perfect, but overall a decent man. Our biggest gripe with President Bush is he never fought back against his haters. Until Sarah came along, I had never seen so much hatred aimed at one individual. Of course, that’s all the left has, a burning hatred for anyone and anything that doesn’t conform to their diseased ideology, and of course, they lie about the subject of their hatred. If somehow hatred and lies were outlawed, Marxist-democrats would simply cease to exist.
The left can’t compete in the marketplace of ideas, so all they have is their hate to fuel them.
Bush would never fight back, something that frustrated his loyal supporters to no end. Even when they made movies, wrote plays and books, all detailing their fantasies of Bush’s assasination, Bush said nothing. Can you imagine that thin skinned loser we have in the White House now being so strong? Me neither.
Bush thought it beneath the dignity of the Office of the President to engage in that sort of thing. Bush respected the presidency so much, he wouldn’t make it about him. While that is commendable to no end, the entire nation would have been to the better had Bush spent just a little bit of time fighting these rotten leftists.
Sarah Palin doesn’t have this problem. She is a born fighter. Sarah Palin is a fearless warrior. She doesn’t take nothin’ off of nobody. I think that’s why Sarah resonates with Americans so strongly. America loves a fighter, and loves a winner. Sarah Palin is both. America respects a fighter. America NEEDS a fighter!
After Glenn Beck’s show, Sarah was a guest on the Sean Hannity radio show. Of course they talked about her pervert stalker, and the nonsense surrounding all of that, but they also talked policy, especially energy policy, and of course British Petroleum, and the oil spill.
Just to remind readers, Sarah has first hand experience in dealing with exactly the kind of situation those in the Gulf are facing. As an oil and gas regulator, Sarah was tough on the oil companies, and as Governor, she got even tough, creating an oversight agency to keep a better eye on things.
Sarah ended the oil companies’ cozy relationships with government regulators, and officials. In fact, she was so tough on the oil companies, that at one point she was accused of being anti-business. And yet, the lying media tries to paint her as an oil company shill. I imagine Sarah has a good laugh on that one!
Back to McGinnis, the perv, Fox News’ Megyn Kelly went off on him on Wednesday as well.
De-licious!
Now for some updates on McGinniss:
If you remember, Ben Smith over at Politico shared an e-mail from McGinniss’s son, that intimated the old man had lost it. Now Ben reported this as straight up fact. Today he is backpedaling and claiming it was sarcasm.
I’m not a trained "journalist" or writer, but I know enough to let people know, when quoting someone else, whether we are dealing with sarcasm, or not. After all, Smith is the one who had the contact with Joe Jr., not us. Smith has had further contact with Joe Jr., and as Stacy Drake reported in her "neighbor" report above, Joe Jr’s credibility isn’t a hell of a lot better than his creepy stalker dad’s!
Let’s take Ben Smith at his word though. There is still plenty of proof that McGinniss is a creepy stalker, and most certainly hung up on Sarah Palin. We told you that McGinniss tried to bid on dinner with Sarah, offering up $60,000. There is a lot more.
When Sarah was on her book tour, freak boy followed her around. He "broke" the big story that yes, Sarah Palin flies on airplanes. Just how deranged is this idiot? He went crazy reporting on the fact that during Sarah’s book tour, she wasn’t on the Bus 24/7. This "astonishing revelation" was, of course, reported breathlessly by the lamestream media, showing what morons the entire bunch are.
As normal people understood, .... they could actually read her daily schedule....and understand the words....Sarah’s schedule was hectic. Many days she had two or three signings in one day, and many times these signings were quite a distance a part. Far enough apart that there was physically no way one could drive there in the time allotted to travel. It was beyond ridiculous for anyone to make something of this, but this is how pathetic these people are.
Besides shadowing Sarah on the book signing trail, McGinniss also showed up in Alaska, ignoring all of the "no trespassing" signs (which makes the story below even funnier) and tried to give Sarah one of his books.
Knowing all we know about Joe McGinniss, so far, it’s safe to say he’s a freak, a creep, and a stalker. But it gets better.
Josh Painter reported today that some reporters came calling on Joe:
Joe McGinness to ABC News: "Get off my property!"
ABC News discovers that stalker Joe McGinness is also a hypocrite:
McGinniss, who is being accused of invading the Palins' privacy, himself claimed that his was being invaded when ABC News knocked at his door to get a comment.
"Get off, you're trespassing," McGinniss said through his window. "I am going to have to call the Wasilla police. Get off my property, now, I am going to put in the call."
It's not your property, Joe. You're just renting.
This little stunt of yours was a lot of fun for you and your leftist fellow travelers when you thought you could intimidate Gov. Palin and her family wasn't it? But when the shoe went on the other foot, you sure lost your cool fast! That's the thing with "progressives." They love to dish it out, but they can't take it.
How delicious is THAT! What a jackass this guy is. Josh has more, with video, here.
ABC News reporter Neal Karlinsky goes to the house McGinniss is living in and tries to talk to him. McGinniss tells Karlinsky to "get off my property," and threatens to call the Wasilla police! He has now even posted "No Trespassing" Signs on the property!
This degenerate had absolutely no problem ignoring Sarah Palin’s no trespassing signs in his deranged pursuits, but expects people to respect the ones he’s thrown up. This reminds me of an interviewer who cornered Obama’s buddy, murdering domestic terrorist William Ayers to ask some questions. Now bear in mind, this is a guy who bombed police stations, and is married to a convicted cop killer. What do you think happened? That tool called the police, of course! Incredibly, they even showed up.The left has no shame.
McGinniss is a real loser, for sure, but this story just gets better. (Or worse, depending on how you score it) .
Rich Clowther at Conservatives4Palin deliciously skewers our buddy Dave Weigel, but also reports some not so shocking detail on who this loser McGinniss hangs with when he is in Alaska. While absolutely wearing Weigel out, Clowther writes:
Well the Palins see things differently, Mr Weigel. They have a different perspective, one borne of distressing, real life, personal experience.
They and their children have lived through the unprecedented harassment of the last 20 months: the email hacking which led to frightening phone calls to their eldest daughter in the middle of the night; the 26 ethics complaints which stifled the Palin Administration and came to nought; the deliberately malicious attempt to cause controversy and split a family with fabrication about divorce; the attacks on their most vulnerable child; the lie that the Palins were under federal investigation for embezzlement; the burningn of their church; the hate speak Trig Troofing conspiracies of Andrew Sullivan and Jesse Griffin and a notorious European blog; the misogynistic invective of a local Alaska Democratic Party office holder.... they’ve lived through all that and more David Weigel… and could perhaps be forgiven that they seem inclined to be wary, less magnanimous than you, less inclined to exercise equilibrium.
When Joe McGinniss moves in next door they don’t see that action as divorced from the context of the previous 20 months, as you appear to do, Mr Weigel.
Sure they remember that as an investigative journalist McGinniss has been critical of their mother… but, unlike you, perhaps they also remember who Joe’s friends are, with whom Joe chooses to socialize when he visits Alaska:
I [Jesse Griffin] found the table that our host Phil Munger had reserved for us and sat down with some of his other guests, who I did not know, but who turned out to be fans of both IM and Mudflats. (Oh did I mention that AKM was with me?)
Soon I was introduced to author Joe McGinniss, who is up here researching HIS Sarah Palin book, and who also turned out to be a huge fan of both AKM's and I. (I swear I will NEVER get used to hearing that.)
Mr. McGinniss entertained us with tales of the colorful characters he has met while doing research for the book he is currently working on and back in the 1970's for his novel Going to Extremes.
Readers will wish to avoid opening this link to theimmoralminority but they (and the Palins) know all about those with whom McGinniss hangs out,
• The liberal Alaska blogger and Palin-hater Jesse Griffin (who attacks the Palin family every day, and tells his readers he knows that Sarah Palin is not the mother of her fifth child, and who advocates the even more lunatic conspiracy that there are in fact three different versions of her fifth child)
• The local Alaska Democratic Party office holder and Palin hater Phil Munger (who tells his readers that Governor Palin is a slut and a whore)
• The Alaska based Huffington Post correspondent and Palin hater Jeanne Devon (who has accused the Palins of being tax cheats, and who is BFF with Alaska based blogger Shannyn Moore, the person who announced mendaciously on MSNBC that the Palins were under federal investigation)
… and knowing all this about Joe McGinniss and the "despicable" company he keeps, when he turns up next door the Palins instantly feel less safe in their own home, Mr Weigel.
Ahhh, the circle of life, and dirtbags, is complete.
You can read the whole thing here. It’s worth it, just to read the Weigel take down!
These reprobates and malcontents, are the people who were given access to the Huffington Post, and MSNBC, so they could publish lies, and hate with ease. They were also the ones who recruited people to file all of the bogus ethics complaints against Sarah, all of which she was found innocent of any wrong doing.
Of course, these are the people who cost the Alaska taxpayers $2 million dollars, as the state had to investigate all of this nonsense. This was one of the reasons Sarah pulled the plug on her job as Governor. The people of Alaska simply didn’t deserve to be robbed of their hard earned money by a bunch of Marxist filth.
Our buddy Doug Brady, also from C4P has even more to add, going back to the house deal:
The claim that the Palins owe their neighbor money is exceedingly difficult to believe on several levels. McGinniss claims the Palins owe the neighbor for "renovations" she performed for them. Really? Along with a few buddies, Todd built the Palins' home. The Palins are currently adding a 6,000 square foot addition with Todd heavily involved in the construction. In addition, Todd has managed to put up a rather large fence in just a couple days. Todd Palin doesn't strike me as someone who would need help with "renovations" from an absentee neighbor. He seems to be managing just fine without said neighbor's renovating expertise, wouldn't you say?
Moreover, are we really expected to believe that the Palins stiffed their neighbor for a bill and we're only finding out about it now? We're to believe that the neighbor was so angry over this that she sought out Joe McGinniss to get payback instead of running straight to the media (or at least the leftist bloggers in Alaska)? She could have been a folk hero to Keith Olbermann's seven viewers. But if she was really interested in collecting money from the Palins, she could have simply answered her phone.
[...]
To sum this up, the Palins rented the house last summer to avoid the very situation in which they find themselves this summer. Further, the Palins repeatedly tried to contact the neighbor all winter to rent the house again this summer or, if possible, buy the property. Despite these efforts, the Palins could not get the absentee neighbor to return their calls. Hmmmmmm. Now I'll admit to having no bill collecting experience but, it seems to me, that if someone owed me money and they were calling me, I'd take the call. But that's just me...
It's pretty clear that the entire tale of the Palins owing a neighbor money for some unspecified renovations is ludicrous on its face. Does anyone seriously think the Palins don't pay their bills? Even Ben Smith appeared to question the veracity of the neighbor's claim by updating his post to note the Palins repeated attempts to contact her:
UPDATE: Palin told Glenn Beck yesterday that her husband had been "trying to get hold of [the neighbor] all winter long" to ask about renting or buying the place, in part "for fear of something like this happening."
Mr. McGinniss, through his son, appears to be trying to change the subject from his bizarre behavior. Conduct which has even been criticized as "outrageously, unnecessarily intrusive" by a left-wing Palin-critic at the Washington Post. Stalking is the only accurate term to describe the following actions undertaken by Mr. McGinniss: illegally ignoring the Palin's no trespassing signs to hand deliver books, outrageously bidding for the Ride2Recovery charity dinner so he could harass Governor Palin, chasing Governor Palin at book signing(s), and now this latest stunt.
I have to ask readers. If you had to put up with one tenth of the crap the Palins have to put up with, would you still be able to be the warrior Sarah is, and never back down? I wonder if the GOP establishment show ponies could handle it.
I’m with Glenn Beck on one thing for sure. Todd Palin deserves some sort of an award. You must know the urge to grab a few of these devils by the neck and just beat the hell out of ‘em is hard to suppress. Todd is a much better man than I, for sure. As Sarah says, he has the patience of Job.
We cheer for Sarah daily, celebrate her grit, and determination. I think we should all raise a glass every now and again, and toast Todd Palin, he’s earned it!
As delicious as all of the above is, I saved the desert for last.
Since the Washington Post’s "Conservative Republican Insider" Dave Weigel, decided to attack Sarah Palin for being so rude as to defend herself and her family, we've hit him pretty hard already, which we linked to above. We stand by the assertion that Weigel is a first class a-hole. A complete and total loser. Now, we can add scumbag and liar to his resume.
Both Red State’s Erick Erickson, and Dr Melissa Clouthier went after Weigel hard, and both smack downs are epic, but I came away with a couple of things.
Again, Weigel tries to pass himself off as the "Conservative Republican Insider." Erickson outs the guy though. It seems that Weigel voted for Al Gore, John Kerry....who served in Vietnam, and Barack Obama. I know a lot of real Conservatives, and absolutely none of them would vote for that axis of evil.
Erickson points out that Weigel once wrote for publications funded by Nazi collaborator, and self-proclaimed "owner of the democrat party" George Soros. This is Dr Evil himself. Ian Fleming’s Ernst Stavro Blofeld come to life. If Weigel wrote for him, he’s no conservative, he’s a plant, a phony.
Erickson writes:
In fact, if you go through Dave’s archives you’ll find a slew of stories from the most recent one as I write
to others that no one on the right really cares about, but people on the left who see the right collectively as fringe will eat up. And that’s the whole point of why he’s there.
There’s nothing unique about this situation. If the job is to cover the right from "inside the conservative movement," that’s not actually happening. It’s like they put Weigel in a gorilla costume to infiltrate some gorillas in the mist and he stumbled into the wrong camp and is now reporting on activity completely unrelated to what actually matters. Never mind that the Washington Post’s online coverage of conservatives reflects a view that gorillas are more civilized than conservatives. And never mind that Weigel’s reporting is clouded with the groupthink you get among up-and-coming self-styled thinker/journalists who live together in D.C., are out to have an impact, but have never lived outside the clique.
Insular groupthink journalism isn’t just useless because it doesn’t talk about what’s really going on, but because it only exists to coo at the pet ideas of the epistemic closure elites, usually preceded by a Media Matters press release to help direct their path.
Sure, Dave Weigel is a nice guy. But don’t treat his reporting from "inside the conservative movement" as serious when he clearly is not on the inside. He’s there because of what he wrote for publications funded by Tim Gill and George Soros, he’s there to track the fringe, to make the fringe look like the middle, and to dig in on agenda-based topics which kowtow to the narrow views of DC elites. His smarter readers know that’s the case, and are just there to enjoy the ride — the only one who seems to think otherwise is the adolescent naif Ezra Klein, late of the Center for American Progress, who doesn’t have any journalistic incentive to be objective toward the right or even passably fair.
Dr. Clouthier writes:
Like Erick, I like Dave Weigel–in the same way I liked the trained Siberian Tigers at the Sigfried and Roy show: they look interesting and exotic, but are extraordinarily dangerous–as poor Roy learned the hard way. A journalist is a wild animal with an appetite for conservative meat and should be interacted with that way–always.
I do not expect Dave to be unbiased or fair. I do not expect him to defend a conservative point-of-view, ever, and therefore, I’m not disappointed or offended when he snaps off some pithy, demeaning, diminishing remark about conservatives or conservatism generally.
When he says something sufficiently irritating, I might respond, but mostly, I suppress the urge as it’s useless. Joking at a conservative’s expense and yucking it up is easy peasy. Everyone does it. So trendy.
So no, I don’t take Dave Weigel seriously. I think he’s a gifted writer and has interesting insight. He has an sophisticated mind and I enjoy talking to him. But he’s as ideologically left as the rest, he’s just willing to lower himself to hang with the natives from time to time. And he’s welcome to do so. Conservative people treat him with more kindness because he is willing to at least publicly view conservatives as a species of human. When it comes down to it though, his reporting sounds like reports from the out-back bush.
It would be fascinating to see what conservative, inside the conservative mind, reporting would look like. Too exotic for the Washington Post, that notion. Better stick with blogs.
Fascinating stuff, for sure. You can read more here.
Weigel is a phony, a fraud. I’ve never been a fan anyway, but it’s quite aggravating to see this clown try and pass himself off as one of us. (or at least claim to cover us "from the inside") What’s despicable though is the way he attacked Sarah Palin for simply standing up for herself and her family when being assaulted by a deranged stalker. Tells you all you need to know about Dave Weigel.
Stay tuned, I’m sure there will be more to talk about as this saga continues
The list is out and Time Magazine has once again chosen the world’s 100 Most Influential People. Sarah was chosen as one of the worlds’s Most Influential Leaders, and showcased in their coverage as an Icon. Sarah is seen with Time’s assistant managing editor Radhika Jones, who compiled and edited the project for the magazine:
As Time is want to do, they chose someone of note to write Sarah’s introduction. In this case it was none other than Texan Ted Nugent:
If Sarah Palin played a loud, grinding instrument, she would be in my band. The independent patriotic spirit, attitude and soul of our forefathers are alive and well in Sarah. In the way she lives, what she says and how she dedicates herself to make America better in these interesting times, she represents the good, while exposing the bad and ugly.
She embraces the critical duty of we the people by participating in this glorious experiment in self-government. The tsunami of support proves that Sarah, 46, represents what many Americans know to be common and sensible. Her rugged individualism, self-reliance and a herculean work ethic resonate now more than ever in a country spinning away from these basics that made the U.S.A. the last best place.
We who are driven to be assets to our families, communities and our beloved country connect with the principles that Sarah Palin embodies. We know that bureaucrats and, even more, Fedzilla, are not the solution; they are the problem. I'd be proud to share a moose-barbecue campfire with the Palin family anytime, so long as I can shoot the moose.
Nugent is an author, activist and rock-'n'-roll legend
That would be a fun BBQ to attend!
Also chosen for Time’s honor was Glenn Beck, and as luck would have it, Sarah was asked to write Glenn’s introduction:
Who'd have thought a history buff with a quirky sense of humor and a chalkboard could make for such riveting television? Glenn's like the high school government teacher so many wish they'd had, charting and connecting ideas with chalk-dusted fingers — kicking it old school — instead of becoming just another talking-heads show host. Self-taught, he's become America's professor of common sense, sharing earnestly sought knowledge with an audience hungry for truth. Glenn, 46, tackles topics other news shows would regard as arcane. Consider his desire to teach Americans about the history of the progressive movement: he's doing to progressive what Ronald Reagan did to liberal — explaining that it's a damaged brand.
His love of the Founding Fathers inspires others to learn and respect our nation's history. Best of all, Glenn delights in driving the self-proclaimed powers-that-be crazy. (The whole country awaits the red phone ringing!) Even his critics (whom he annihilates in ratings) have to admire his amazing ability to galvanize everyday Americans to better themselves and peacefully engage their government. Though he sometimes dismisses himself as an aw-shucks guy or just a "rodeo clown," he's really an inspiring patriot who was once at the bottom but now makes a much needed difference from the very, very top.
Sarah was on Glenn Beck’s radio show today discussing their shared honor, as well as their affection for the Great State of Texas, and Sarah’s fondness for the neat little town of Giddings, where she and her family often stay when in the state.
Time also publishes a list of the 100 Least Influential People. Deliciously delicious is who makes the list, with the word loser beside his name.
This morning, Governor Palin followed up on Facebook the invitation to watch Glenn Beck's documentary today that she tweeted last night:
Be sure to watch Beck’s “Revolutionary Holocaust” documentary today Today at 11:10am EST
Please be sure to catch Glenn Beck’s documentary today (Friday, January 22nd) at 5pm ET on the Fox News Channel. You can learn more about it and watch a preview of it here. The documentary will trace the history of communism and socialism and continue Beck’s study of the roots of the progressive movement in our country. It promises to be an eye-opener for many of us.
