Man Up, Joe Scarborough: A Post by Conservative Girl with a Voice

It seems as if the sharks over at MSNBC have finally managed to sink their liberal teeth into Joe Scarborough. In an opinion piece for Politico, Scarborough takes on Sarah Palin and calls for the GOP establishment to publicly confront the former Alaskan governor. Throughout the entire piece, it is hard to decipher if Scarborough is an establishment, RINO Republican or a liberal hack. Scarborough goes to great lengths in an attempt to discredit Palin, calling her a reality star and questioning how she has time to study up on policy when she has her show, book tour and family to raise. I, for one, find Scarborough's arguments not only demeaning, but sexist as well. Would Scarborough make the same accusations about a man? After all, our very own president was viewed as a rock star during the presidential campaign; furthermore, he spent more time campaigning for president than he did actually playing senator. Would it be fair to ask how he managed to spend time with his family and raise his daughters during this time period? While this is a minute segment of his opinion piece, it sheds light on just how how of touch the Washington establishment types are with modern-day Americans like you and me. Scarborough also touches on so-called sources that he has supposedly talked to about Palin's lack of experience and goes on to write:

What man or mouse with a fully functioning human brain and a résumé as thin as Palin’s would flirt with a presidential run? It makes the political biography of Barack Obama look more like Winston Churchill’s, despite the fact that the 44th president breezed into the Oval Office as little more than a glorified state senator.

Oh really Joe...hmmm. Oh how quickly people forget. Remember the whole 2008 presidential campaign? Remember that Sarah Palin was the only candidate in the running that had executive experience? Not only did she have executive experience, but she was the most popular governor in the country who, when tapped for VP, had an approval rating in the 80 percentile. As the governor of the largest state, she tackled the corruption in Alaska head on and helped to put her state on the map. Unlike many of Mr. Scarborough's establishment friends, whose parents left them large trust funds, Sarah started from the ground up, serving in the PTA, on the city council and as a mayor before becoming governor. Word to the wise, Mr. Scarborough: Perhaps it would help if you actually do a little research before throwing insults around, acting like you know it all when you clearly do not. There is such a thing as the internet and fact checking. Did they not teach you that over at MSNBC? Well, seeing that you do work for such a highly regarded network (not), this may very well be the case. Although Mr. Scarborough works for MSNBC, he was a member of the House not too many years back. Did you know that he resigned because he wanted to spend more time with his family? Funny how he is able to criticize someone for resigning when he did the very same thing. It sounds a lot like the pot calling the kettle black if you ask me.

Latest ADN PDS Rant an Epic Fail!!! A Post by Conservative Girl with a Voice

The PDS, liberal infested Anchorage Daily News is at it again. While trashing Sarah Palin is a regular occurrence over at this liberal news rag, they have set their sick, twisted sights on attacking her 20-year-old daughter, Bristol. The ADN has published a piece by Paul Jenkins, editor of the Anchorage Daily Planet. Jenkins has written a hate-filled piece criticizing Bristol for having the nerve to defend her mother and herself against the "haters" during her time as a contestant on ABC's Dancing with the Stars. Get this: It seems as if Jenkins' main beef with Bristol stems from the fact that Bristol called out those who have attacked her and her mom. Oh, how scandalous:

In the Palins' strange world, haters lurk always just in the shadows, enemies of all that is decent. They are out to sink Bristol's boat, to make her mother's struggling television show even more boring than it is -- the high point so far was Bristol's aggravated battery on a halibut -- and to sideline mom's political aspirations, and not necessarily in that order. (As a matter of full disclosure, I have a "Haters" T-shirt and am wearing it as I write this, but I know haters, and I'm no hater. It takes too much energy. I'm more of a cranky disliker.)

It is clear that the only delusional person here is the author of this ridiculous piece. Last I checked, DWTS had its highest ratings ever AND Sarah Palin's Alaska was the most-watched series premiere in TLC's history.
I guess Jenkins thinks outdoor lovers like the Palins are just a boring bunch of losers. I'd hate to think how he would describe himself. After all, what kind of a person would admit to wearing a "Haters" t-shirt? That's almost as bad as someone waking around with the word "loser" on his forehead, but I am not putting it past someone of Jenkins' caliber to do something like that either.

It is apparent that Jenkins needs to get a life. Did it ever occur to him that the Palin family are loved and adored by many? I find it ironic that as the mainstream, lamestream media find their readership numbers on the verge of nonexistent, the more the Palin family is finding continued success. This illustrates just how powerful this family is. It is apparent that Jenkins is jealous as is the case with so many Palin-family haters. Instead of writing about something newsworthy, Jenkins wasted perfectly good newspaper space to attack a young woman who never so much as looked in his direction. Yet, this how the typical PDS -infected folks seem to lead their lives now-a-days. Jenkins continues his rant:


Palin's persistent use of the term now has been embraced by her daughter. For Bristol, one can only hope such insanity will pass; that she will see her life should be more than hating haters; that sometimes our worst enemies can be our best friends; that not all critics deserve "a big middle finger." But for the lovely Sarah P., a woman toying with the notion of being president of the United States, it may be too late.

Her world is very black and very white. I just hate that.

If Mr. Jenkins had any class whatsoever, he would have realized a long time ago that the Palins don't give a darn about the media and what they think. Bristol Palin is a strong, fierce, determined young woman who will do great things during her lifetime- no doubt about it. I think it is time for Mr. Jenkins and his PDS-deranged friends to find a better way to spend their time. After all, last time I checked, it is Christmastime, a time for giving. I suggest Mr. Jenkins repay the crappy ADN for publishing his piece by going out there and getting them a few more readers. Good luck finding those readers. Note to the ADN subscriber department: I have a feeling people will be too busy watching Sarah Palin's Alaska to answer the door or pick up the phone.

Governor Palin Cooks the Media's Goose for Thanksgiving

I'm glad Governor Palin addressed this issue. I just think it's a pity she had to. This is where Palin Derangement Syndrome has taken us. A slip of the tongue becomes big-time news when the slip was made by someone named Palin. The salivating, rabid reprobates (i.e., the media) cannot even be internally honest enough to admit even to themselves that the Governor simply misspoke, as we all do from time to time. Instead, they pretend that she doesn't know the difference between North and South Korea. No matter that her previous conversations show that she, of course, not only knows the difference, but is well aware of the issues at play. All truth is sold out for a cheap gotcha moment. Meanwhile, President Obama or then-candidate Obama can make gaffe after gaffe without hardly a word from the lamestream media. Such hypocrisy. This is precisely why people are fed up with politics--from both sides of the aisle.

Governor Palin puts this issue in its proper perspective in her Facebook note, "A Thanksgiving Message to All 57 States":

My fellow Americans in all 57 states, the time has changed for come. With our country founded more than 20 centuries ago, we have much to celebrate – from the FBI’s 100 days to the reforms that bring greater inefficiencies to our health care system. We know that countries like Europe are willing to stand with us in our fight to halt the rise of privacy, and Israel is a strong friend of Israel’s. And let’s face it, everybody knows that it makes no sense that you send a kid to the emergency room for a treatable illness like asthma and they end up taking up a hospital bed. It costs, when, if you, they just gave, you gave them treatment early, and they got some treatment, and ah, a breathalyzer, or an inhalator. I mean, not a breathalyzer, ah, I don’t know what the term is in Austrian for that…

Of course, the paragraph above is based on a series of misstatements and verbal gaffes made by Barack Obama (I didn’t have enough time to do one for Joe Biden). YouTube links are provided just in case you doubt the accuracy of these all too human slips-of-the-tongue. If you can’t remember hearing about them, that’s because for the most part the media didn’t consider them newsworthy. I have no complaint about that. Everybody makes the occasional verbal gaffe – even news anchors.

Obviously, I would have been even more impressed if the media showed some consistency on this issue. Unfortunately, it seems they couldn’t resist the temptation to turn a simple one word slip-of-the-tongue of mine into a major political headline. The one word slip occurred yesterday during one of my seven back-to-back interviews wherein I was privileged to speak to the American public about the important, world-changing issues before us.

If the media had bothered to actually listen to all of my remarks on Glenn Beck’s radio show, they would have noticed that I refer to South Korea as our ally throughout, that I corrected myself seconds after my slip-of-the-tongue, and that I made it abundantly clear that pressure should be put on China to restrict energy exports to the North Korean regime. The media could even have done due diligence and checked my previous statements on the subject, which have always been consistent, and in fact even ahead of the curve. But why let the facts get in the way of a good story? (And for that matter, why not just make up stories out of thin air – like the totally false hard news story which has run for three days now reporting that I lobbied the producers of “Dancing with the Stars” to cast a former Senate candidate on their show. That lie is further clear proof that the media completely makes things up without doing even rudimentary fact-checking.)

“Hope springs eternal” as the poet says. Let’s hope that perhaps, just maybe, they might get it right next time. When we the people are effective in holding America’s free press accountable for responsible and truthful reporting, then we shall all have even more to be thankful for!

Sorry, Ms. Clift, but You Don't Speak for this Grizzly Girl!!! A Post by Conservative Girl with a Voice

The liberal mainstream media continue their quest to discredit Sarah Palin and her supporters, with so-called journalist Eleanor Clift becoming the latest journalist to take the plunge. Just this week, Clift wrote a piece for Politics Daily entitled The 'Palin Effect': Not all Young Republican Women are Buying it. In the piece, Clift goes to great lengths to argue that many young, Republican women do not view Sarah as a role model for their generation. As a young, Conservative Republican woman myself, I had to laugh at this notion. While it is no secret that Sarah Palin has a fair share of those who dislike her and her politics, I find it hard to believe that Clift knows anything about the powerful impact Sarah has had on so many young women of my generation. Before Sarah entered the forefront, I did not care too much about politics as a whole. While I always have made it a point to vote and keep up to date on the happenings going on in the country, I did not have an activist streak in me. Sarah changed all of this for me. When she became the VP nominee, I, along with the rest of America, was introduced to a woman who seemed to have it all: a great career, an awesome husband and family and a deep faith- all while leading a normal life in the last frontier. She reminded me of a modern-day Annie Oakley or Margaret Thatcher.

While Clift argues that a large number of young, Republican women do not feel inspired by Sarah, I find it odd that she is only able to cite one young woman who feels this way. Senior Leanna Cannafax, President of the Samford Young Republican's Club, had this to say when asked about Sarah:

It's hard for me to relate to her even though she's Republican and conservative. As a young woman, I have to be open-minded to things I don't agree with, and I feel she doesn't even listen.

Hmmm, Leanna, I have to wonder if you are listening to a word Sarah says. After all, while governor of Alaska, Sarah was one of the few Republican governors who was widely known for reaching out across the aisle, listening to Democrats and Republicans. She was never a quote on quote "rubber stamp" to any set political party. I have to wonder if Leanna knows what Conservatives even stand for. While is a good thing to be open minded and unbiased, it is also important to stick to your convictions and fight for what you believe in. This is exactly what Sarah does day in and day out.

Perhaps the most ridiculous part of the article is Clift's sad excuse for a conclusion:

I don't pretend to have taken a scientific poll, but getting outside the Beltway and inside a small Southern campus made me wonder if Palin's biggest constituency is the media, not voters, and whether she makes a better story than she does role model.

So Clift's trip outside the Beltway suddenly classifies her as a scientist??? If you ask me, she needs to do her research and gather a few more sources before she even begins to attempt to try to understand young, Republican women of my generation. Maybe if she actually did her homework, she would she why women like myself look up to Sarah with such high regard. It's called fact checking- plain and simple. Ever heard of it, Ms. Clift???

While Clift was only able to quote a single source for her biased piece, I can name a large number of young women who, like me, connect with Sarah and view her as a role model for our generation. For me, Sarah is a modern-day feminist. She is a fierce force to reckon with, and those who try to bring her down usually fail. As a great wife and mom, Sarah is able to balance motherhood with her career, all doing so while wearing a phenomenal pair of, excuse my language, "kick-ass heels." Thank you Sarah, for being the mama grizzly you are, and for teaching this grizzly girl and thousands like me how important it is to stand up and speak out on behalf of the commonsense conservative movement. I'm not the only grizzly girl who feels this way. In closing, I leave you with some great insight from a couple of fellow grizzly girls:

For me, Sarah Palin embodies everything I love about conservatism and feminism. She is a self-made woman, works arduously for the sake of her family and her country, she does not shy away from her principles, she scares the establishment of both parties, she is unafraid of pointing out the fallacies of the liberal agenda, and always has a smile on her face when doing so.

Her message inspires women of all stripes to participate in politics and not relent. Mama and sister grizzlies (as well as those papa bears) are uniting for the common cause of returning our country to the common sense conservatism we crave and need. She is one of the many reasons I love to engage in political discourse on my blog. Thank you to the Mama Grizzly herself for being one of the leaders of this new movement of real change!

Governor Palin is inspiring to many women - myself included - in ways that transcend her political views. One can agree with her, or not, in that regard. But, really, her appeal lies in the courage and perseverance she shows in the face of very challenging situations. There's something comforting about seeing a woman 'just like me' take all of the experiences of life in stride and continue making her own way forward. I think that's a character trait any honest person should be able to appreciate.

Dance, Bristol, Dance!!! A Post by Conservative Girl with a Voice

Last night, Bristol R-O-C-K-E-D The Tonight Show with Jay Leno!!! After all Bristol has gone through in recent months, it was fun to watch her let loose and have some fun. I could tell Jay Leno was impressed too. It was fun to see them interact with each other as the interview progressed, and I encouraged those of you who haven't seen the interview to click here and watch it.

Those of us who know people close to Bristol will be the first to tell you that she is not the diva that she is being portrayed to by the slimy lamestream media. The Bristol you saw last night is an example of this. Bristol is a down-to-earth, all-American girl who loves her son and family. Like her parents, her family is the most important thing in the world to her. Once again the media are attempting to portray a member of the Palin family as someone they are not. I know for a fact that Bristol has NEVER asked for any special favors on the set of Dancing with the Stars. Bristol has been working her butt off practicing during the day and working and spending time with her son as soon as practice is over. Bristol is so excited for the opportunity to participate in a family-friendly show, and she cannot wait for her family to be in the audience to cheer her on. Hear that lsm? Maybe it's time to stop making stories up and start reporting the truth!!!

To Bristol, I say: Keep up the good work!!! You are an inspiration to so many, including me. You are a smart, beautiful, wholesome, all-American girl, and there are so many people out there who are rooting for you- this Conservative Girl with a Voice being one of them!!!

Are Lamestream Media Lies About Bristol Palin Intended to Prejudice "DWTS" Voting?

The lamestream media strikes again in their dishonest reporting of all things Palin. Why are they so intent on spewing lies about this family? Why are they so threatened? What do they hope to accomplish?

Bristol Palin is having a blast in her new "Dancing with the Stars" role. Instead of applauding this young woman for doing her own thing, taking part in this family-friendly fun, and demonstrating that women can handle motherhood while taking on new challenges, they promote lies about her.

In a lie that reportedly originated with The Hollywood Report, The Chicago Sun-Times continues the Bristol-as-Diva falsehood, just as they've done with her mother. Bill Zwecker writes:

Things keep getting interesting behind the scenes on ''Dancing With the Stars.'' A show insider says, ''Move over, Michael Bolton! Bristol Palin is now out-diva-ing you!''

The source said the daughter of former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin has become a constant pain in the rear for "DWTS" staffers. ''Clearly she didn't read the fine print on her contract -- and that's just a figure of speech. There's nothing hidden in the contracts,'' said the ''Dancing'' source.

''Otherwise, Bristol wouldn't be complaining about all the things contestants are required to do.''

On top of all that, Palin reportedly has been very upset by some questioning -- from staffers and other contestants -- about both her mom (and her expected run for the presidency) and ex-beau Levi Johnston and his less-than-flattering cracks about Bristol competing on the ABC series.

• It didn't take Sarah Palin long to play ''Mama Grizzly'' for her daughter, tweeting, ''Wow! media goofballs rearing heads this wk, big time! Wonder what's up? Taking the cake: ink re:Bristol=a diva? Silly; obviously have nvr met her.''

No, but some people we trust have!

"Some people we trust"? What is this, kindergarten? We heard that she heard that he said so it must be true! Lame stream all the way--and so juvenile.

Yesterday, I wrote that ABC described Bristol as "excited and scared." These are certainly not adjectives typically used to describe a diva. And for good reason: there's no diva in Bristol. In the same post, I quoted Bristol herself, who referred to this experience as "positive" and "good competition." Again, Bristol's attitude toward this opportunity is anything but negative.

These lies about Bristol are so far-fetched that those pimping them need to be held accountable. Bristol is not asking for any special favors--just to be treated and judged fairly like everyone else. Are these aspersions intended to prejudice people and influence their voting? That's a question to be pondered. Bottom line: it's not fair, it's not true, and it's not right. Katie Couric Busted on Video Mocking Governor Palin

Back in March, in an article I called "Katie Couric & the Lamestream Media," I wrote:

When Katie Couric interviewed Governor Palin during the 2008 campaign, America saw a badgering piranha who had a clear agenda. That agenda was not to be fair and balanced and facilitate an interview that would allow the American people to hear from the governor and then make up their minds about her. It was not to present the truth in honest journalistic fashion. Her whole agenda seemed to be to demean, deride, and hound the governor right out of the gate...

Today it all becomes clearer. Video of Katie Couric mocking Governor Palin and her family the day John McCain announced her as his running mate has found its way online. It's no new revelation that the lamestream media looked down its nose at the Governor, and the recent JournoList revelations certainly exposed their fear that she would derail the highway they were building Obama to deliver him to the highest office in the land. However, as Katie Couric's interview with Governor Palin has been praised by the Left as a game-changer in the 2008 campaign, the video certainly puts to rest any notion that Katie was simply exercising fair journalism--as if there could possibly be anyone left among us who still believes that. While not earth-shattering, this video brings an added understanding of what Governor Palin has said about Couric all along: she was condescending, derisive, and downright rude. Now I realize that all Katie was doing during her interview was continuing what she began in this video.

Mind you, it's not the footage alone that speaks volumes; it's the story behind it all. Conservatives4Palin brought this video to the public's attention, so let's start with their take:

It’s not just what was said by Couric in her discussion of Governor Palin, but also the way CBS framed the narrative of Governor Palin’s life in their story. The script covers moose burgers, her kids, her being a former beauty queen and being on the cover of Vogue. Sarah Palin was a sitting governor, and at that time, before the Obama campaign and their allies in the press spent months relentlessly smearing her good name, she had the highest approval ratings of any governor in the country. She was also responsible for getting the largest energy project in North American history underway after several decades of interminable delays in Alaska. She was a courageous corruption-busting whistleblower who turned in the leader of her own party in Alaska for his corrupt practices. She was a fiscal conservative who made the largest veto cuts in Alaska history, reined in the reckless waste, cut her own expenses, sold the governor’s private jet, let the personal chef go, and put away billions of dollars in savings for Alaska for a rainy day. She was a tough CEO who went toe to toe with the Big Oil companies and fought to get the best deal for Alaskans, the resource owners she represented. And she did all of this as a woman from a modest background who was entirely self-made – without the benefit of a rich or influential father or husband.

But what in this impressive biography did CBS News and Couric choose to focus on? Moose burgers and beauty pageants.

By their choice of the framing of the story, it’s evident Couric and CBS had an agenda here: They wanted to diminish Governor Palin because her impressive record of accomplishments towered over the non-existent record of the guy at the top of Democrat ticket.

You ought to remember the Sept. 24, 2008 Katie Couric interview of Sarah Palin. It's been celebrated time and time again as a heralded part of American journalism. However, raw footage appearing to be from Aug. 29, 2008 shows that Couric, anchor of the "CBS Evening News," was already predisposed not to have a high regard for the Alaska governor long before that interview. Outtakes of CBS's "Evening News" show Couric taking a few petty shots at Palin in her coverage leading up to the 2008 Republican National Convention. This five-minute clip has several highlights, showing Couric favoring "moose burgers and beauty pageants," instead of her professional credentials as mayor of Wasilla, a town Couric has trouble announcing, and her tenure as governor of Alaska.

Highlights include the following:

•Couric mocking Palin's oldest son's name: "Her oldest son, 19-year-old Track-Where the hell do they get these [names]?" [laughter] (1:09)
•"She hunts, fishes and eats moose burgers. Her parents, Sally and Chuck Heath, were out hunting caribou when they got the news. You can't make this up - OK hold on a second. [laughter]" (1:43)
•"I'm saying I'm glad you took out the feminine side because you can be feminine and play basketball, right Jerry?" (1:59)
•Struggles with the pronunciation of the name of the town Wasilla. (4:05)

Great job diverting attention away from Governor Palin's resume', CBS. Way to go! I would ask what they were afraid would happen if they reported her accomplishments, but I already know the answer, so why bother? Read more here.

Gary Jackson, too, recognizes Katie's sinister agenda. He writes:

There’s more history between Sarah and the Perky One, than this bit of childishness. As Sarah pointed out in her book, there are hours upon hours of video tapes from a series of interviews Couric did with Sarah. Instead of airing all of that footage, CBS and Couric selectively edited it to paint Sarah in the worst light possible.CBS has refused to release the full tapes to either Sarah, or the McCain campaign. (or the media at large) Hmmmm. Wonder why?

Let’s also never forget that Perky sat down with longtime Marxist-democrat Sam Nunn, and Council on Foreign Relations president Richard Haas, before she interviewed Sarah, and was coached extensively on just the right sort of “gotcha” questions to ask. Nunn was on Obama’s short list for Vice President, and served on his transition team after the election. In other words, Couric sat down with Team Obama and worked out the best strategy on how to question their opponent!

The media in this country is dead. You can’t trust a word they say, especially if it comes from the so-called “mainstream media.” They are all a bunch of proven liars, and little more than stenographers for the Obama regime.

America is looking forward to November when we plan to vote out corrupt, over-reaching, apparently deaf politicians who look out for themselves rather than the people who hired them. Somehow we also need a plan to oust members of the mainstream media, like Katie Couric and her compadres, who have taken it upon themselves to use their positions to advance their own agendas, thus robbing Americans of the facts we so desperately need and deserve to have. Sarah Palin Lays Out Her Aggressive Agenda For National Security, Liberty, Freedom, And The American Way .... Video Included

Speaking at Freedom Fest in Norfolk, Virginia Sarah Palin laid out her very aggressive agenda for the nation. This is a powerful indictment of the Obama regime, and the corrupt "lamestream media" as well.

Fresh from her speech at California State University, at Stanislaus, where she spoke of American exceptionalism, and the need to get back to the basics in education, and raised more money for the university than any other speaker in history, Sarah came to Virginia ready to take on the big issues that we face.

With every passing speech, every new appearance, Sarah Palin looks more powerful, more in control, and more presidential. This is a compelling speech, where she implores the American people not to settle for second best. She tells us not to allow Barack Obama and his minions get away with saying America’s finest hours are behind us, and that we are just another nation among nations. Don’t let Obama and the rest of the Marxist-democrats tell you America is not the greatest force for good the world has ever known.

Sarah implores us not to just say "no," to the Obama agenda, but "Hell No!"

Peace Through Strength and American Pride vs. "Enemy-Centric" Policy

Earlier this week, I spoke at the Freedom Fest in Norfolk, Virginia; and, evidently, the media was asked to leave – not by me, that’s for sure. I want my message out, so despite reporters making up a story about "Palin people kicking us out" (uh, the "Palin people" entourage would consist of one person – my 15-year-old daughter, Willow – and I have no doubt she could take on any reporter, but I know for certain she didn’t "kick ‘em out" of the event). Anyway, here are some of the key issues I spoke about.

DEFENSE SPENDING

It takes a lot of resources to maintain the best fighting force in the world – especially at a time when we face financial uncertainty and a mountain of debt that threatens all of our futures.

We have a federal government that is spending trillions, and that has nationalized whole sections of our economy: the auto industry, the insurance industry, health care, student loans, the list goes on – all of it at enormous cost to the tax payer. The cost of Obamacare alone is likely to exceed $2.5 trillion dollars.

As a result of all these trillion dollar spending bills, America’s going bust in a hurry. By 2020 we may reach debt levels of $20 trillion – twice the debt that we have today! It reminds me of that joke I read the other day: "Please don’t tell Obama what comes after a trillion!"

Something has to be done urgently to stop the out of control Obama-Reid-Pelosi spending machine, and no government agency should be immune from budget scrutiny. We must make sure, however, that we do nothing to undermine the effectiveness of our military. If we lose wars, if we lose the ability to deter adversaries, if we lose the ability to provide security for ourselves and for our allies, we risk losing all that makes America great! That is a price we cannot afford to pay.

This may be obvious to you and me, but I am not sure the Obama Administration gets it. There isn’t a single progressive pet cause which they haven’t been willing to throw billions at. But when it comes to defense spending, all of a sudden they start preaching a message of "fiscal restraint." Our Defense Secretary recently stated the "gusher" of defense spending was over and that it was time for the Department of Defense to tighten its belt. There’s a gusher of spending alright, but it’s not on defense. Did you know the US actually only ranks 25th worldwide on defense spending as a percentage of GDP? We spend three times more on entitlements and debt services than we do on defense.

Now don’t get me wrong: there’s nothing wrong with preaching fiscal conservatism. I want the federal government to balance its budget right now! And not the Washington way – which is raising your taxes to pay for their irresponsible spending habits. I want it done the American way: by cutting spending, reducing the size of government, and letting people keep more of their hard-earned cash.

But the Obama administration doesn’t practice what it preaches. This is an administration that won’t produce a budget for fear that we discover how reckless they’ve been as fiscal managers. At the same time, it threatens to veto a defense bill because of an extra jet engine!

This administration may be willing to cut defense spending, but it’s increasing it everywhere else. I think we should do it the other way round: cut spending in other departments – apart from defense. We should not be cutting corners on our national security.

THE U.S. NAVY

Secretary Gates recently spoke about the future of the US Navy. He said we have to "ask whether the nation can really afford a Navy that relies on $3 to $6 billion destroyers, $7 billion submarines, and $11 billion carriers." He went on to ask, "Do we really need... more strike groups for another 30 years when no other country has more than one?"

Well, my answer is pretty simple: Yes, we can and, yes, we do because we must. Our Navy has global responsibilities. It patrols sea lanes and safeguards the freedoms of our allies – and ourselves. The Navy right now only has 286 ships, and that number may decrease. That will limit our options, extend tours for Navy personnel, lessen our ability to secure our allies and deter our adversaries. The Obama administration seems strangely unconcerned about this prospect.

OBAMA’S FOREIGN POLICY INHERITANCE

When George W. Bush came into office, he inherited a military that had been cut deeply, an al Qaeda that had been unchallenged, and an approach to terrorism that focused on bringing court cases rather than destroying those who sought to destroy us. We saw the result of some of that on 9/11.

When President Obama came into office, he inherited a military that was winning in Iraq. He inherited loyal allies and strong alliances. And thanks to the lamestream media pawing and purring over him, he had the benefit of unparalleled global popularity. What an advantage! So their basic foreign policy outlines should have been clear. Commit to the War on Terror. Commit to winning – not ending, but winning the war in Afghanistan. Commit to the fight against violent Islamic extremism wherever it finds sanctuary. Work with our allies. Be resolute with our adversaries. Promote liberty, not least because it enhances our security. Unfortunately, these basic principles seem to have been discarded by Washington.

THE WAR ON TERROR

His administration has banned the phrase "war on terror," preferring instead politically correct nonsense like "overseas contingency operations." His Homeland Security Secretary calls acts of terrorism "man-caused disasters." His reckless plan to close Guantanamo (because there’s no place to go after it’s closed) faces bipartisan opposition now.

The Attorney General just announced that a decision about where to try terrorists like 9/11 master mind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed would not be announced until after the mid-term elections. Is there something he’s afraid to tell us?

The President’s new National Security Strategy does not even use the word "Islamic" when referring to violent extremism. Does he think the ideology of those who seek to kill Americans is irrelevant? How can we seek to defeat an enemy if we don’t acknowledge what motivates them and what their ultimate goals are? President Obama may think he is being politically correct by dropping the term, but it flies in the face of reality. As Senator Joe Lieberman noted, refusing to use the word Islamic when describing the nature of the threat we face is "Orwellian and counterproductive."

AFGHANISTAN

In Afghanistan, it is true that President Obama approved deploying additional forces to the conflict – most, but not all the troops requested by commanders on the ground. But it took months of indecision to get to that point, and it came at a very high price – a July 2011 date to begin withdrawal.

This date was arbitrary! It bears no relation to conditions on the ground. It sends all the wrong signals to our friends and to our enemies. We know our commanders on the ground are not comfortable with it.

As that great Navy war hero, Senator John McCain recently put it: "The decision to begin withdrawing our forces from Afghanistan arbitrarily in July 2011 seems to be having exactly the effect that many of us predicted it would: It is convincing the key actors inside and outside of Afghanistan that the United States is more interested in leaving than succeeding in this conflict."

Does the President really believe the Taliban and al Qaeda won’t be empowered by his naming of a starting date for withdrawal? They now believe they can beat him simply by outlasting us. What sort of effect does he think this will have on the morale of our troops – and of our allies?

ALIENATING OUR ALLIES

It’s not the only area where the Obama administration has failed our allies. They escalated a minor zoning issue in Jerusalem into a major dispute with our most important ally in the Middle East, Israel. They treated the Israeli Prime Minister shabbily in Washington. When a Turkish sponsored flotilla threatened to violate a legal Israeli blockade of Hamas-run Gaza, the Obama Administration was silent. When Israeli commandos were assaulted as they sought to prevent unmonitored cargoes from being delivered to Hamas terrorists, the Obama Administration sent signals it might allow a UN investigation into the matter – an investigation that would be sure to condemn our ally Israel and bemoan the plight of Hamas. Loyal NATO allies in central Europe were undermined by the cancellation of a missile defense program with virtually no warning. At the same time, Russia and China are given preferential treatment, while remaining silent on their human rights violations.

CODDLING ADVERSARIES

Meanwhile, the Obama Administration reaches out to some of the world’s worst regimes. They shake hands with dictators like Hugo Chavez, send letters to the Iranian mullahs and envoys to North Korea, ease sanctions on Cuba and talk about doing the same with Burma. That’s when they’re not on one of their worldwide apology tours.

Do we get anything in return for all this bowing and apologizing? No, we don’t. Yes, Russia voted for a weak sanctions resolution on Iran, but it immediately stated it could sell advanced anti-aircraft missile to Iran anyway, and would not end its nuclear cooperation. In response to North Korea’s unprovoked sinking of a South Korean Navy ship, China warned us not to take part in military exercises with our ally.

And while President Obama lets America get pushed around by the likes of Russia and China, our allies are left to wonder about the value of an alliance with the U.S. They have to be wondering if it’s worth it.

AN "ENEMY-CENTRIC" FOREIGN POLICY

It has led one prominent Czech official to call Obama’s foreign policy "enemy-centric." And this "enemy-centric" approach has real consequences. It not only baffles our allies, it worries them. When coupled with less defense spending, it signals to the world that maybe we can no longer be counted on, and that we have other priorities than being the world leader that keeps the peace and provides security in Europe, in Asia and throughout the world.

Together with this enemy-centric foreign policy, we see a lessening of the long, bipartisan tradition of speaking out for human rights and democracy. The Secretary of State said she would not raise human rights with China because "we pretty much know what they are going to say." Democracy promotion programs have been cut. Support for the brave Iranians protesting their government was not forthcoming because President Obama would rather try to cut a deal with their oppressors.

When the world’s dictators see the United States unconcerned with human rights and political freedom, they breathe a sigh of relief, because they know they have a free hand to repress their own people.

This goes against the very ideals on which our republic was founded. There is a long bipartisan tradition of speaking out in favor of freedom – from FDR to Ronald Reagan. America loses something very important when its President consigns human rights and freedom to the back burner of its international priorities.

A DIFFERENT VIEW OF AMERICA

We have a President, perhaps for the very first time since the founding of our republic, who doesn’t appear to believe that America is the greatest earthly force for good the world has ever known.

When asked whether he believed in American exceptionalism, President Obama answered, "I believe in American exceptionalism, just as I suspect that the Brits believe in British exceptionalism and the Greeks believe in Greek exceptionalism." Amazing. Amazing.

I think this statement speaks volumes about his world view. He sees nothing unique in the American experience? Really? Our founding, and our founding mothers and fathers? Really? And our history over the past two and half centuries?

Really? He sees nothing unique in an America that fought and won two world wars and in victory sought not one inch of territory or one dollar of plunder? He sees nothing unique in an America that, though exhausted by conflict, still laid the foundation for security in Europe and Asia after World War II? He sees nothing unique in an America that prevailed against an evil ideology in the Cold War? Does he just see a country that has to be apologized for around the world, especially to dictators?

President Obama actually seems reluctant to even embrace American power. Earlier this year when he was asked about his faltering Middle East peace process, he said "whether we like it or not, we remain a dominant military superpower." Whether we like it or not?! Really? Mr. President, this may come as news to you, but most Americans actually do like it. And so do our allies. They know it was our military might that liberated countless millions from tyranny, slavery, and oppression over the last 234 years. Yes, we do like it. As a dominant superpower, the United States has won wars hot and cold; our military has advanced the cause of freedom and kept authoritarian powers in check.

It is in America’s and the world’s best interests for our country to remain the dominant military superpower, but under President Obama’s leadership that dominance may be slipping away. It’s the result of an agenda that reeks of complacency and defeatism.

(I went on from there to talk about our need to end the negative, defeatist attitudes of those in leadership. I spoke further on American exceptionalism, and Willow and I ended a great evening with some great patriots. Sorry the media chose to report anything other than what actually happened at the event.)

I want to address the question of this blogger, who none of us has ever heard of, but indeed has a blog, that claims he was kicked out of Freedom Fest after a few minutes of blogging Sarah’s speech.

Now we find that rather a dubious claim on many levels. People live blog from pretty much every speech Sarah gives, especially events like this. People park on Twitter waiting anxiously for every quote, every tidbit of information about the event, hungry for all things Palin.

Another thing, this blogger claims he was invited by one of the event sponsors to cover this deal, and was credentialed. I’ve been to a lot of events, and credentialed media is rarely hassled. Past that, if the guy was there at the behest of a sponsor, how hard would it have been to drop a name or two? (It’s always worked for us!)

Some have suggested that maybe an outsider, posing as an event official, an "agent provocateur" may have wondered in to cause trouble, but that’s getting out there where the buses don’t run.

The thing that makes us really doubt this blogger’s story is the fact that video, clearly shot from someone in the audience, exists. If they were kicking out fully credentialed and somewhat "official" bloggers, how did the video posted by "Daily Press News" come into being?

Inquiring minds want to know.

You’ll read more about this in the coming days I’m sure, but as Stacy Drake wrote in her latest offering, this is all about stealing the headlines away from what Sarah actually has to say, the substance, and mis-directing you somewhere else.

There are a whole lot of people both Marxist-democrats, and establishment Republicans, who would just as soon you didn’t pay attention to Sarah Palin and her strong message. They just as soon you forget she is one of the few real leaders this nation has.

Sarah Palin is a real leader, a strong leader, and a proven reformer. This scares the hell out of both the corrupt Marxist-democrats, as well the corrupt establishment Republicans. In fact, she may scare the corrupt Republicans more, because they know what she did to the Alaskan Republicans and Governor Frank Murkowski’s "Corrupt Bastards Club."

Our best advice when it comes to Sarah Palin, is to pay attention to what this magnificent woman says, and ignore the spectacle that those who don’t have America’s best interest at heart, make of themselves, trying to get you to ignore her!

My Phenomenal Alaska Trip: Part Two: A Post by Conservative Girl with a Voice

I arrived back home in San Diego early Sunday morning. The following is my latest blog post that I wrote while still in Alaska. Enjoy…

As I continue to share with you my adventures in Alaska, the last frontier, I continually find myself witnessing some of the greatest wonders of this God-created world. Everywhere I look- whether it be at a simple, pink flower blooming in someone’s front yard, to the moose chewing grass along the highway- I am captivated by this state and all she has to offer. If you live or have visited Alaska, you know the beauty I am speaking of, and for those of you who have not yet visited, there is no better time than now. After all, what could be better than sitting outside on a deck, with a glass of Merlot, overlooking a lake at 10:30 p.m. while STILL wearing sunglasses? Yep, only in Alaska my friends.

Since my last blog post, a lot has happened. I continue to have a wonderful time meeting and getting to know new friends, and I cannot wait to meet many more people before I travel back to San Diego. There have been many highlights over the course of the last couple of days and many memories have been made. It was so fun to get my hair done at the Beehive Beauty Shop by the shop’s owner and my friend Jessica Steele (pictured at right in the purple). Jessica is the sweetest, most genuine person you will ever meet. She is truly as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside. There is just something very special about salons that bring out the ultimate “girly girl” in me. I have always had a blast sitting down at the salon and just talking girl talk. I also met, Chris (pictured with me to the right), who is doing his training to be a hairstylist at the 'hive. Chris recently moved from San Diego to Alaska, and it was fun to talk San Diego with him. I had fun dishing and discussing everything from reality shows to hair and beauty tips. The Beehive is decorated phenomenally. Everything from the antique chandeliers (a staple of Louisiana signifying Jessica’s place of birth) to the beautifully decorated pink, black and white color scheme definitely gives the salon its “it factor.” As soon as you walk into this shop, you know you have come to the right place- it’s that cool. I decided to let Jessica work her magic like only she can (She is Sarah Palin’s hairdresser after all), and she gave me the cutest, sassiest pixie cut. (Thanks to my awesome friend, Tracey Porreca, for taking the awesome photos.) I cannot tell you how many compliments I have been getting for my hair. Jessica is THAT good!!! Thanks, Jess. You’re amazing, and I love my hair.

The girl talk didn’t end at the salon, but instead continued into the night as Jessica, Krisha, Kristina, Tracey, Shelia and I had dinner at the Settler’s Bay Lodge. It was definitely like a mini “Tweet Up.” One of the best parts of the dinner conversation had to do with the fact that the restaurant we dined at had the most to-die-for butter. I’m not talking about your average butter here. On the contrary, I’m talking about the best blend of butter, bacon and spices that your own grandmother would have to work years to perfect. I think it’s safe to say that we had more than our fair share of bread and that yummy butter that evening.
My sister, Krisha, Kristina and I also had the awesome privilege of attending Ericka Burke’s wedding. Ericka is the youngest child of Eddie (who’s running for Alaska’s lieutenant governor) and Linda Burke. We had a blast at the wedding. It was such a great atmosphere, and it was clear everyone had an awesome time. It was fun to laugh, dance and just hang with some of the coolest Alaskans you will ever have the chance to meet. I must say that the Burke family KNOWS how to have a good time!!! Eddie, Linda, Candice, Terrin, Eddie Jr. and his wife, Brandy, as well as Ericka and her hubby, Brown, have been great company. I told them that they are like family to me and gave Krisha and me a sense of “home” while in Alaska. It was like I was a part of their family, and I will never forget how great a time we had dancing into the night!!!On a side note: Tabloids are reporting that Bristol Palin and Levi Johnston are back together. These reports are UNTRUE. Once again, the lamestream media are reporting lies in order to denigrate the Palin family in an attempt to sell more magazines. It is no secret that many magazines and newspapers are losing large amounts of readership daily, so they have resorted to spreading lies in an attempt to keep readers. While Bristol and Levi are not back together, it is my hope that Levi will be a more active parent in his young son's life. Tripp needs both of his parents in his life. The Palin family has been more than open in their willingness for Levi to be an active dad. Levi treated the Palin family terribly, and the Palins never once publicly lashed out and attacked Levi the way he has attacked them. It would be in Levi's best interest to apologize to Bristol and the rest of the Palin family. If Levi is sincere in his attempts to reconcile with his young son, I say more power to him. Although he has made many mistakes at such a young age, there is such a thing as forgiveness and second chances. I am praying Levi will come around and realize how great a son he has and how great and accepting the Palin family is.

Listen to Palin, Media; Maybe You'll Get Something Right

The Lame Stream Media does it again. Here they go twisting what Governor Palin said to suit their own interests. The Obama administration has acted irresponsibly--and slowly--to the Gulf of Mexico oil spill. Why such a slow response to BP?

The Governor, in her interview today with Chris Wallace, discussed the fact that President Obama received a huge chunk of contributions from BP. As Sheya at C4P reported in his article, "Listen Up! It's About BP!" she said:

I don't know why the question isn't asked by the mainstream media and by others if there's any connection with the contributions made to President Obama and his administration and the support by the oil companies to the administration.

If there's any connection there to President Obama taking so doggone long to get in there, to dive in there, and grasp the complexity and the potential tragedy that we are seeing here in the Gulf of Mexico —

Now, if this was President Bush or if this were a Republican in office who hadn't received as much support even as President Obama has from B.P. and other oil companies, you know the mainstream media would be all over his case in terms of asking questions why the administration didn't get in there, didn't get in there and make sure that the regulatory agencies were doing what they were doing with the oversight to make sure that things like this don't happen.

It's a fair point--one that needed to be raised. But who else but Governor Palin has the nerve to throw it on the table? Notice, however, the inability--once again--to correctly report what she said. Instead of posing her question to the Obama administration, the response is to prove that Republicans have received more money from the oil and gas industries than Obama.

But that isn't the issue, is it? Of course not, and they would know that isn't the issue--if they would listen.

Sheya sets the record straight:

Governor Palin didn’t dispute the fact that McCain received more from the oil and gas industries in the whole than did Obama. This disaster was not caused by the oil and gas industries, but by BP and BP alone, and it is from BP alone that Obama received the biggest chunk of all their political contributions. It is reasonable to demand questions be asked about the coziness of the Obama administration to BP.

In addition, Governor Palin tweeted about this twice today, and she was quite clear as she tried to assist the needy Robert Gibbs who needs more help than the Governor will ever have time to give:

I offer the same advice that I offered in my post earlier today:

My advice to the media: be responsible, listen carefully, take notes, and tell the truth.

Sarah Palin in Idaho: "Hold the Media Accountable"

Governor Palin spoke at a campaign rally for Vaughn Ward in Boise, Idaho yesterday.

KTVB.com reports:

Ward introduced Palin on Friday and said and her family arrived on time in
Boise, but unfortunately their bags did not and the rally started about 30
minutes late.

When Palin took the podium, she addressed the setback in a
tie-dyed blue top and a knee-length black skirt.

"We flew through the night and this morning my luggage didn't arrive. So
about an hour ago, I was sitting backstage in sweats and tennis shoes and man,
this is just so me. I'm in borrowed clothes, again... I appreciate the borrowed
clothes though, this is nice," said Palin.

However, Mike Tracy, a spokesperson for Vaughn Ward, says clothes were
purchased for Palin by a volunteer in the amount of $298.50. Tracy says Palin
personally reimbursed the volunteer in that amount.

Her visit drew about 1,500 to the 5,000-seat Qwest Arena comes just five days
before Tuesday's primary and Ward's showdown with rival state Rep. Raul Labrador
for the GOP nomination for Idaho's 1st Congressional District.

Palin's appearance could have a big influence next week and beyond for Ward's
cash-strapped campaign. The winner of Tuesday's primary will take on first-term
Democrat Walt Minnick, who doesn't have a primary challenger and continues to
rake in campaign donations.

Rocky Barker and Katy Moeller from The Idaho Statesman also report:

Idahoans were proud to cling to their guns, religion and protest signs Friday
as they gave native daughter Sarah Palin a star's welcome home.

Palin, who was born in Sandpoint and graduated from the University of Idaho,
came to support Republican Vaughn Ward in his tight primary race with GOP State
Rep. Raul Labrador in the 1st District. But before she spoke, Ward, a former
Boise State Bronco football player, had to say two words: "Go Vandals."

For his efforts, Palin delivered a powerful endorsement, calling Ward "one of
the most promising conservatives" in the nation. She said he's pro-gun,
pro-life, will fight for lower taxes and the free market.

"He's the real deal," Palin said.

Ward's authenticity has been challenged by Labrador after a series of Ward's
campaign missteps, but Palin suggested Labrador's references to Ward's miscues
were negative charges that "really diminish a candidate" for bringing them up.
But she reserved her strongest criticism for the press.

"The left and some of the 'lamestream' media, they can really play dirty
sometimes. Trust me on this one, I know," Palin said.

The former GOP vice presidential candidate told around 1,500 people at Qwest
Arena to "expect more dirt to be slung," and she called on them to "hold the
media accountable when they twist and turn what Vaughn said."

She said the media attacks on conservatives go against what she learned about
journalism as a U of I communications major.

"I think it's appalling," Palin said, "and a violation of our freedom of the
press."

Lying Liberals Target Governor Palin

I have never seen people more intolerant, threatening, or downright nasty than far-left liberals. I deal with these people on a regular basis as they pull out all the stops in their determination to silence the opposition by any means necessary. It's what they do. It's who they are. After all, they get their marching orders from Saul Alinsky. They stop at nothing to defeat the enemy. And they get help from their lover, the mainstream media. They are very calculating in their agenda.

They know that we, the American people, are disgusted that Washington completely ignored our pleas as they rammed through what they call health care reform. They know their time is limited because, as Governor Palin pointed out in a recent Facebook note, November is indeed coming. They know elections have consequences, and we will not forget. Yes, they know we're counting the days--and they're scrambling, which leads me to their newest desperate attack.

Yesterday Governor Palin tweeted:

Commonsense Conservatives & lovers of America: "Don't Retreat, Instead - RELOAD!" Pls see my Facebook page.

The Facebook note included a map pinpointing 20 legislators who voted for Obamacare and need to be replaced by common sense conservatives.

In that note she wrote in part:

We’re paying particular attention to those House members who voted in favor of Obamacare and represent districts that Senator John McCain and I carried during the 2008 election. Three of these House members are retiring – from Arkansas’s 2nd district, Indiana’s 8th district, and Tennessee’s 6th district – but we’ll be working to make sure that those who replace them are Commonsense Conservatives. The others are running for re-election, and we’re going to hold them accountable for this disastrous Obamacare vote.

That was yesterday. Today the Left decided to play stupid. Today, in their desperate need to manipulate, they dug deep. They know Governor Palin has the ability to drive Americans to the polls in November to vote out the people who have refused to do what they were elected to do: represent their constituents. So what do they do? They pretend Governor Palin's "RELOAD" metaphor was an actual threat to engage in physical violence against Democrats. Are you kidding me? As a 14-year veteran English Language Arts teacher, I could walk into my classroom, show my seventh graders the tweet, show them the map, and give them the Facebook note to read. I have no doubt that they would be able to tell you that she was speaking metaphorically. I could take the weakest student I have, and even he would tell you that there was absolutely no threat of physical violence. And though I often wonder about the brain power of anybody who would embrace a liberal worldview, the saddest part of this whole nonsense today is that this time they are playing stupid. There is not one person who actually believes the governor was recommending violence, but to pretend that she is serves their purpose. It aids in their obsessive need to paint conservatives as violent racists, it cooperates with their fear of Governor Palin's influence, and it's in keeping with their Alinsky tactics.

I know these tactics well. They did the same thing to me a couple months ago when I published, "Levi: When Lying Dogs Won't Sleep." They knew good and well the entire post was laced in metaphor, but they feigned outrage and concern that I was some dangerous woman intent on murder. They then commenced to harass me, threaten me, mock my faith, and all the other loving, tolerant things people on the Left do. Pathetic really. Their accusation about Governor Palin is just more of the same.

Jed Lewison, Daily Kos: Of all the images to convey about her movement, it is revealing that Sarah Palin chose one associated with violence. Palin's rhetoric comes amidst a surge in right-wing extremism, a time during which she should be urging cooler heads to prevail instead of fueling the most radical elements of her base. ... I don't care how much money Sarah Palin might want to make off her political celebrity, if she were the patriot she claims to be, she'd be doing everything in her power to rein in the rising tide of right-wing extremism.

Joan Walsh, Salon.com: Most (but probably not all) Palin supporters may insist the tuckered-out former Alaska governor meant "reload" metaphorically. But in a country where angry right-wingers carry guns to see the president speak, and spit on African-American congressmen, I thought it was a chilling statement. Will any Republican denounce Palin's language?

Rachel Maddow, MSNBC: The armed and dangerous theme isn‘t just in the streets and at the protests. It‘s now the vernacular by which supposedly mainstream conservative politicians address their followers.

This next one gets to the heart of what these ridiculously asinine people are hoping to achieve (emphasis mine):

Margo Howard, The Women on the Web: I would not find it surprising if someone from the Department of Justice rang [Palin] up to advise her that what she is doing is inciting violence - which is a federal offense. As if it weren't bad enough that people were spitting on legislators, yelling epithets and wearing sidearms into Starbucks, here comes Sarah Palin using the language of guns ... and this in a country that has seen political assassinations in our lifetime. Hate speech, anyone? I would suggest to McCain's Mistake that she, well, think before she speaks. Or better yet, just stop talking.

Ms. Howard, probably without even realizing it, exposes the real desire of the Left wing media: they just want to shut conservatives up, and who is the most powerful, most respected conservative today? Governor Palin. So she must be silenced--and they will stop at nothing to do it.

The problem, however, is these people are too busy playing their various and sundry cards to do any research. The Republican Party and Governor Palin have clearly denounced violence in our fight to take back our country. (Note to haters: I'm not suggesting a literal fight. It's a figure of speech, which any third grader could tell you.) If there are morons shouting racial slurs, practicing violence, or promoting such behavior, they certainly do not speak for the conservative movement. They speak for themselves and their own twisted vision of the world. They are not encouraged, embraced, or in any way abetted by those of us on the Right. After all, we are common sense conservatives.

Just the other day, while on the Glenn Beck Show, Governor Palin spoke out against violence.



Today, House Republican Leader John Boehner also made it clear that violence is not condoned. He said:

“Well, there are a lot of angry Americans and they are angry over this health care bill. They’re angry about the fact that the Democrats here in Washington aren’t listening to them. But I’ve got to tell you that violence and threats are unacceptable. It is not the American way. Yes, I know there is anger, but let’s take that anger, and go out and register people to vote, go volunteer on a political campaign, and let’s do it the right way. I’m concerned about the amount of violence and anger that’s out there … it’s unacceptable.”

Why don't these people on the Left tell you about the GOP's clear rejection of violence? Yes, why don't they talk about the governor's interview with Beck or Boehner's strong stand? You know the answer as well as I: it doesn't fit their agenda to do so. Honesty doesn't help their cause. They feast off of lies. They crave an opportunity to point crooked fingers and accuse decent people of indecent motives. They long for it. They can't live without it. It advances their cause among those who are simple minded enough to take what they say as law. They purposely twist, taint, and taunt--anything it takes. And they often expose themselves through selective, fabricated outrage.

The Left wingers and their media buds would do well to spend their time taking a stand against actual threats and hateful acts instead of playing their little games. They wouldn't have to search far to find these threats, most often heaped upon conservatives--originating from liberals, of course.

Governor Palin has threatened no one. She has, however, been threatened. Where is the outcry from the Left and the lamestream media about this? Where is their outrage when Governor Palin faces real, not contrived, threats?

For example, recently Kathy Griffin openly stated she'd like to push Governor Palin down the stairs. This was after she trespassed her property. Where was the outrage then? Or is her threat overlooked because her agent just happens to be Rahm Emanuel's brother, Ari?

During the Going Rogue book signing, I was personally hit with eggs when an anti-Palin loon barged in with a plan to blast the governor. Was that acceptable? What else was he capable of? The man was arrested but showed no remorse. In fact, he bragged about it later. Palin Derangement Syndrome sufferers said that Governor Palin deserved it as did I. Where was the outrage then?

Later during the tour, a man in Minnesota threw tomatoes at her and was arrested. What...no outrage then either?

It gets worse. C4P reported the following just a few months ago:

Perhaps most disturbingly, Zaki recently posted Governor Palin's address, directions to her home, pictures of her home, and this message:

In the winter you can walk out onto the ice and walk up to the house through the back door.

[...]

She doesn't mind visitors, just walk right up to the house and say hello!

This is a man who regularly writes hate-filled rants about Governor Palin, suggests her grandson deserves to be beat up because of his name, and wishes she would snap her ankle. He provides directions to her home and encourages people to show up. What do you think he wants them to do once they get there? Yet no outrage from the Left.

Shortly after the 2008 campaign, someone set Governor Palin's church on fire while women and children were inside. Investigation revealed that this was more than arson. It was attempted murder, as the phone, fire alarm, and sprinkler system wires were cut. And barely a word from the media. How is that possible? No one has paid the price for this. No one has been caught. And many have never even heard of it. Why?

Collins Report, which I highly suggest you read in its entirety, offers this analysis:

The facts speak clearly. This attempted murder was perpetrated by someone from outside of the Wasilla area, a hired assassin who went there to kill people because of what they believe.

Who on the Left, who in the media, condemned this outright violent act? They barely batted an eye. Again I ask, where was the outrage?

On page 138 of Going Rogue, Governor Palin shares an extremely disturbing threat against her daughter Bristol during the 2008 campaign, and I don't remember any Congressmen, Chris Matthews, or Rachel Maddow being very concerned about this violent threat:

She wrote:

And during the VP campaign, among so many other threats, a guy from New Jersey wrote that he would "shoot her pregnant body from a helicopter."

Clearly, Governor Palin has endured real threats against her well-being and the well-being of her children, and the silence by some has been deafening. During this sensitive time in our country, when Americans are understandably angry, she has denounced violence, yet the haters are pretending she's inciting it. This is their method of holding on to the little hope they have of keeping their seats in Congress. Pitiful indeed--and it won't work.
The governor used Twitter and Facebook to encourage Americans to use their voting power to make a difference. As a hunter from the state of Alaska, she used a fitting metaphor to make a point. She used the same language her dad used when she resigned from the governor's office. Mr. Heath said, "Sarah's not retreating. She's reloading." All of a sudden, they've forgotten this metaphor. The Left obviously has selective memory to go along with their selective outrage.

It's time for the lamestream media to stop playing dangerous games. It is quite obvious that the governor was not inciting violence. Only a fool would actually believe that's what she was doing. And only a liar would pretend.

I was in the crowd on July 26, 2009 in Fairbanks, Alaska when Governor Palin turned the reins over to Sean Parnell. I clearly remember her strong admonition to the media, and I applauded along with everyone else. Those words are just as appropriate today as they were that Sunday: "Quit making things up!"
