Sarah Palin’s Goal Of 50% Renewable Energy Use In Alaska Signed Into Law

By Gary P Jackson

One of the first things Barack Obama did, once he took office, was to announce a pretty ambitious goal of having the United States get 25 percent of it’s energy from renewable sources by the year 2025. To date, little if anything, has been done by the Obama regime to reach this goal.

On January 21, 2009 (Obama’s first full day at work) Sarah Palin, writing in the Wall Street Journal, praised this initiative strongly, while reminding Obama that conventional sources of energy will always be needed. She also announced that she was working on the goal of having Alaska get a full 50 percent of it’s energy from renewables in that same 2025 time frame.

From the Wall Street Journal:

Tax Cuts and Fiscal Discipline

By Sarah Palin

Especially evident in these trying economic times is America's need for affordable, abundant and secure energy. This means American energy resources developed through American ingenuity and produced by American workers. I applaud President Obama's focus on alternative and renewable energy, and here in Alaska we've joined the effort: I have asked Alaskans to focus on obtaining 50% of our electric generation from renewables by 2025. In the meantime, we must not abandon oil and gas exploration and development. In fact, Americans should demand the cooperation of the major oil producers so that Alaska's vast supply of clean natural gas can be brought to market. Alaska stands ready to positively contribute to the nation's markets and energy needs.

Another step on the path to economic recovery is to let Americans keep more of their income. Mr. Obama and Congress could make this happen with permanent tax cuts and by adhering to a path of fiscal discipline. When congressional appropriation trains run too hastily, they accumulate excess baggage, spending more taxpayer money. Leaving more money in American pockets through tax cuts and fiscal discipline stimulates the business-investment and job-creation climate -- the climate for economic recovery.

Finally, we are extremely proud of our men and women in uniform. Mr. Obama and Congress must continue to guarantee a strong national defense by modernizing and equipping our armed forces; by treating active-duty military and veterans fairly; and by supporting the families of our service members. America will face difficult challenges in the years ahead. As Mr. Obama takes the helm, our prayers are with him as he seeks direction for our great nation.

Now one must understand the rest of the story here. While Obama wanted to have the entire nation at 25 percent on renewables, Alaska was already there, and had been for some time. Many people don’t understand that while Sarah Palin’s Alaska was a leader in conventional energy production, environmentally responsible energy production, and the leader in weeding out corruption in the business and in the governmental agencies that regulate it, the state is also a leader in renewables. In other words, Alaska already gets 25 percent of it’s energy from renewable sources. With that said, shooting for the next 25 percent is big, bold, and ambitious.

Sarah understood this was a long term goal, just like AGIA, her natural gasline project, and something that would be ongoing well after she left office. Sarah left Alaska in the very capable hands of Sean Parnell, who has performed admirably as Governor, and continued on with Sarah’s policies. He has especially worked hard on energy related issues.

That brings us to this announcement, as reported by Wind Power Monthly:

US: Alaska has passed legislation calling for the state to derive 50% its electricity from renewable and alternative energy sources by 2025.

House Bill 306 reinforces a 50% renewables goal announced by former governor Sarah Palin. Notably however, the goal is not binding on utilities.

The bill calls for Alaska to encourage economic development by promoting the development of alternative energy sources, including geothermal, wind, solar, hydroelectric, hydrokinetic, tidal and biomass.

Paradoxically, the bill also calls for the development of non-renewable resources including coal, oil and natural gas. It says the state should "remain a leader in petroleum and natural gas production".

The bill says the state should review and streamline energy regulation, but does not offer details on how this would be accomplished.

Governor Sean Parnell said: "The policy encourages coordination of government functions and streamlines regulatory processes across all levels of government."

Parnell has also signed into law SB 220, which calls on the governor to submit a report to legislature recommending how best to increase coordination and efficiency between energy-related agencies.

The report is due by January 31, 2011. Alaska has 7.8MW of wind installed, placing it 32nd among the 37 US states with wind capacity.

Its largest and most recent wind farm is the 4.5 MW Kodiak Island wind project, which came online last year.

I love how this report says " paradoxically" talking about conventional energy sources. This reporter doesn’t realize that while Sarah Palin may have set this incredibly ambitious goal, and Governor Parnell and the Alaska legislature is doing it’s absolute best to achieve this for her, and the state, the rest of the country, sorely lacking leadership, is nowhere near meeting a far less ambitious plan.

We aren’t going to be getting away from a petroleum based economy anytime soon. As we reported here, quoting a study from 2008:

...... untapped reserves are estimated at about 2.3 trillion barrels, nearly three times more than the reserves held by Organization of Petroleum Exporting Counties (OPEC) and sufficient to meet 300 years of demand-at today’s levels-for auto, aircraft, heating and industrial fuel, without importing a single barrel of oil.

That’s three centuries worth of oil. Longer than The United States has been a nation!

This also doesn’t take into account the estimated billions of trillions of cubic feet of clean burning natural gas that also sits in the ground waiting to be used. We’ve long said if the environmentalists were serious, instead of chasing electric cars, hydrogen, or other money pits, they’d be working on converting the fleet to clean burning compressed natural gas for fuel. With the technology that currently exists, it’s a no brainer.

The Big Three automakers: Ford, Chrysler, and General Motors already offer CNG powered vehicles. Better yet, they offer dual fuel vehicles that can run on either gasoline, or CNG, so availability of either fuel is never an issue.

So, as shocked as the above reporter may be, tapping these incredibly abundant resources is not only smart, but essential. Can you imagine how the world, and America, would look if we weren’t sending somewhere between $700 billion and $1 trillion a year out of the country to buy crude oil?

Job creation alone would be staggering. The national security implications incredible. Much of those nearly $1 trillion spent annually go to nations that actively work against our interests. Many openly hate the United States, but take our money, and then use it to fight against us.

With that said, Sarah Palin’s goal of making Alaska energy independent just moved forward in a big way. If she can do this in Alaska, just think what her leadership, and inspiration, from the Oval Office could produce.

Sarah Palin: Fuel America By Being Lap Dogs To Chavez And Ahmadinejad Instead of Drilling Our Own, Baby?

It should be interesting to watch the loons on the radical left as they go through all sorts of mental and verbal gymnastics trying to justify buying oil from terrorist nations, after this hard hitting bit of writing by Sarah Palin!

Remember when Bush and the evil Darth Cheney were in office? Hollywood and the radical Marxist-communist-environmentalists were running television ads and producing You Tube videos telling us that SUVs were the greatest threat to mankind ever, because they used gasoline, and that gasoline, .... wait for it .... funded terrorism!

Oddly enough, now that they have one of their fellow travelers in the White House, it’s all good!

This one is gonna leave a mark:

Fuel America with Terrorist-Tarred Oil Instead of Drilling Our Own, Baby?

Am I the only one who wonders what could possibly be the agenda of any politician who would thwart our drive toward energy independence? Continuing to lock up America’s domestic energy reserves, including the energy-rich Last Frontier of Alaska, only equips dangerous foreign regimes as they fund terrorist organizations to harm us and our allies. I’m going to keep speaking and writing about this in the simplest of terms until someone can provide a simple answer as to why liberal Democrats don’t understand that we have safe, warehoused onshore and shallow water reserves waiting for permission to be extracted. They either choose not to understand the geology, science, and technology behind an "all-of-the-above" approach to energy security, or they understand it, yet for whatever frightening reason choose to be lap dogs to Chavez and Ahmadinejad.

Shoot, I must have lived such a doggoned sheltered life as a normal, independent American up there in the Last Frontier, schooled with only public education and a lowly state university degree, because obviously I haven’t learned enough to dismiss common sense (a prerequisite for power in Washington these days). Help me out, friends! Help someone like me – and the majority of Americans – understand why we would ever kowtow and bow to foreign regimes that hate us, instead of doing all we can to starve the beast of terrorism in our plight for security, prosperity, and peace.

There’s an obvious common sense answer to our need for security and energy independence, but don’t hold your breath waiting for common sense to surface in Washington – it’s an endangered species there. Obviously we must responsibly develop our God-given domestic oil and gas reserves right here, right now; we must conserve energy; and we must develop renewables that are based on sound science, not snake oil and favors for political pals.

Please read the following Newsmax article (posted below) summarizing GOP efforts to push the Obama Administration to produce a plan to potentially wean us off one source of dangerous foreign oil. (Of course, I think the prodding should be even more aggressive to shake up the naVve complacency of anti-development Democrats and some deer-in-the-headlights mainstream reporters who are finally realizing they’d been buffaloed into believing any politician had all the answers.)

We must understand the imperative nature of energy security, along with America’s life and death need to secure our borders. Baby, this is why I won’t sit down and shut up about the need to drill.

- Sarah Palin

Boomshockalacka, baby!

Obviously this is spot on. There is absolutely no good reason for a nation that has more oil reserves than Saudi Arabia, billions, of trillions, of cubic feet of natural gas reserves, and hundreds of years worth of coal reserves, to be getting oil from terrorist nations.

There is also no reason why we shouldn’t be building nuclear powered electric generation plants nationwide either. France gets around 70 percent of it’s electricity from nuclear. FRANCE.

This is incredible.

Of course, we know the real reason why Barack Obama and his buddies Al Gore, George Soros, and others are against using America’s energy, and why they are milking the disaster in the Gulf for all it’s worth. They have around 10 TRILLION REASONS to be against "drill, baby, drill!"

It’s time to stop this nonsense, and get on with the business of keeping America safe, strong, and prosperous.

Here's the Newsmax article Sarah references above.

Senators Demand Answers on Venezuela’s Links to Terrorism

A dozen Republican senators have sent a letter challenging the Obama administration to explain what it knows about Venezuela’s support for terrorism and suggesting that the country be declared a "state sponsor of terrorism."

"Hugo Chavez’s relationships with Iran and other foreign terrorist organizations continue to grow and pose a serious threat to our hemisphere," Sen. George LeMieux of Florida, one signer of the letter, said of the Venezuelan president.

"I encourage the State Department to thoroughly evaluate Venezuela’s actions and determine if the country needs to be added to the official U.S. list of state sponsors of terrorism."

John Ensign of Nevada, who drafted the letter along with LeMieux, declared: "It’s no secret to the American people that Venezuela wishes harm to the United States. What is secret is how many more ties to terrorist organizations and state sponsors of terrorism does Venezuela need to be declared a state sponsor of terrorism."

The letter addressed to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton points to a number of concerns raised by Chavez’s Venezuela:

* Surface-to-air missiles and other weapons have reportedly been provided by Venezuela to FARC guerrillas in Colombia. An arms cache captured from FARC in 2008 included Swedish-made anti-tank rocket launchers that had been sold to Venezuela.

* Venezuela provides cross-border sanctuaries for Colombian guerrillas.

* A United Nations report last year disclosed that nearly one-third of all cocaine produced in the Andean region passes through Venezuela. The senators question how much terrorist groups such as al-Qaida profit from trafficking drugs that originate in or flow through Venezuela.

* The U.S. has frozen the assets of two Venezuelans, including one working for Chavez, for providing direct support to the terrorist group Hezbollah. The senators ask the State Department for an assessment of the activities of Hezbollah inside Venezuela.

* Chavez’s "extensive support" of the Castro regime in Cuba is calculated to amount to $1 billion a year, and Cuban advisors are involved in the intelligence and security apparatus of the Venezuelan government.

* Chavez "has repeatedly expressed support" for Iran’s covert nuclear program and announced a plan for the construction of a "nuclear village" in Venezuela with Iranian assistance. Also, Chavez has pledged to provide Iran with 20,000 barrels of gasoline per day.

* As for Iran’s Revolutionary Guards, "recent years have witnessed an increased presence in Latin America, particularly Venezuela."

* Weekly flights connecting Iran, Syria, and Venezuela raise suspicions of "nefarious purposes" because passengers on these flights have been subject to only "cursory immigration and customs controls."

Newsmax magazine’s May issue disclosed that Iranian security officers seal off the airport in the Venezuelan capital, Caracas, two hours before Iran Air jets arrived. Those officers supervise cargo unloading with no inspection by local officials.

Iran could easily fly in highly enriched uranium that could then be carried into the U.S. from Mexico, increasing the risk of a terrorist attack with a nuclear weapon.

If the U.S. did declare Venezuela a state sponsor of terrorism, American arms sales to the country would be prohibited, as would U.S. economic assistance, and severe restrictions would be placed on bilateral trade.

"The Obama administration’s decision to pull the trigger on Venezuela may hinge on whether the United States can afford to forfeit petroleum exports from that South American country," Roger F. Noriega, a former assistant secretary of state and a visiting fellow at the American Enterprise Institute, observes on the Institute’s journal, The American.

"Anticipating the argument that Venezuela’s oil supply is too essential to the U.S. economy to risk slapping that country with the terrorist label, the senators ask the administration to explain its ‘contingency plan’ for dealing with a ‘sudden and prolonged unavailability of Venezuelan oil exports to the United States.’"

In answer to the question, the U.S. would likely find new sources of oil on the international market — but Venezuela’s economy will be crippled by the loss of oil revenue and consumer imports, Noriega notes, adding: "Since the last years of the George W. Bush administration, U.S. diplomats have steered clear of Chavez for fear of ‘provoking’ him. Thanks to congressional oversight, we are about to confront the terrible downside of that naive, passive policy."

Other senators who signed the letter include John McCain of Arizona, Scott Brown of Massachusetts, and Republican Whip Jon Kyl of Arizona.

Sarah Palin: Obama Has Snookered You Again America!

We have been reporting on the massive blow Barack Obama has done to our national security, and how his hostile take over of Sarah Palin’s gasline project is an attempt to either take credit for this project as his own, or to simply shut it down.

We are busily researching all of the ins and outs, and the relationships between Obama’s new "Pipeline Czar" Larry Persily, and members of the "Corrupt Bastards Club" in Alaska. So there will be a lot more to come on this.

For now, Sarah Palin is speaking out against yet another evil Barack Obama is visiting on the American people and the American economy. If you notice, one of the first things Sarah talks about is the deal Obama made with Brazil.

Last year, a mere three days after Obama’s puppet master, and self proclaimed "owner of the democrat party," George Soros, bought controlling interest in Brazilian oil giant, Petrobas, our President loaned Brazil $10 BILLION American tax payer dollars. Chicago thug politics at it’s finest.

Now, in what can only be seen as a way to help his master out, Barack Obama has banned all off shore drilling in America. This is beyond evil, but really par for the course from the most corrupt man to ever step foot in the White House.

Let’s let Sarah tell us what’s on her mind:

Nonstop D.C. Nonsense: Drilling Down on Energy Doublespeak

It may be tempting to feel worn down as we take one step after another towards the "fundamental transformation of America" that Barack Obama promised. But we mustn’t let our energy be sapped, even in the face of the mind-boggling leap the Obama Administration just took that fundamentally shifts us towards more reliance on foreign energy sources. Hang on to your hat and take a look at this.

Months ago I discussed Washington’s decision to allow U.S. dollars to flow to Brazil for that nation’s off-shore oil drilling projects, while D.C.’s attitude towards America’s own offshore developments appeared less-than-enthusiastic. We gained hope though when our President promised in his State of the Union address that he’d be "making tough decisions about opening new offshore areas for oil and gas development." Most of us optimistically assumed that "making tough decisions" meant allowing at least some offshore drilling. In fact, on national television that night I said that the President deserved kudos for acknowledging our need for domestic energy development in his speech.

Turns out that was just more drilling doublespeak: America has been snookered again.

While everyone has been focused on Obamacare, the Obama administration took advantage of America’s distraction and quietly said that it’s planning to place a hold on offshore drilling on the outer continental shelf until at least 2012.

At a time when our country is desperate for job growth, deficit reduction, and energy independence, it’s simply astonishing that the administration refuses to allow additional offshore drilling, even while supporting energy development in foreign countries.

According to a study by the American Energy Alliance, opening the OCS to drilling could create as many as 1.2 million new jobs and add hundreds of billions of dollars annually to the US economy. Those are real American jobs – and great American opportunities – that can’t be outsourced. Offshore drilling would provide billions in revenue for our states, allowing them to reduce their budget deficits without raising taxes. It would help reduce our trade deficit, which spikes with each rise in the price of oil because we’re so reliant on foreign sources of energy. And because we have some of the best environmental standards in the world, we should be drilling for our own oil instead of buying it from countries with less stringent standards.

When the Obama Administration first delayed offshore leasing on the OCS to allow for "an extended public comment period," the comments it received reflected what all the polling tells us – that Americans overwhelmingly support offshore drilling. (Curiously, those pro-drilling findings weren’t heavily publicized by the Administration and the press.) Americans understand that a true "all-of-the-above" approach to energy independence must include responsible development of our conventional resources. Even as we develop alternative energy sources, we’ll still rely on oil and gas for decades to come. If we don’t drill for it here, then we’ll just have to keep buying it from others.

Using executive power to lock up energy resources ignores the will of the American people who want to develop those resources and know that we can do so in an environmentally responsible manner.

Ignoring the American people is never good politics, but whether it’s energy independence or health care, our leadership in Washington is tone deaf to the commonsense solutions that Americans want.

Watching this potentially earth-shattering energy policy decision made quietly while health care transformation distracts us, it makes one wonder what else our politicians are up to. An old trick is to intentionally consume attention with a "crisis" so as to sap the public’s energy, and then to conveniently push through rash measures that would receive great scrutiny at any another time. Remember Rahm Emanuel’s Saul Alinsky-style of political operation: "You never want a serious crisis to go to waste."

America, we must resolve to stay engaged in what our politicians are doing. Don’t get tired and give up. All political power is inherent in the people. America can only be transformed into something unrecognizable if we get so tired that we give up our political power and close our eyes to what is going on. Find the energy to stand for what you know is right, including supporting leaders who don’t engage in energy policy doublespeak.

- Sarah Palin

Obviously, this is outrageous. But, it may be the only transparent think Barack Obama has ever done. This is a transparent attempt by Obama to further enrich his master, George Soros, by making sure than American oil companies, and the American people themselves, cannot benefit from the God given natural resources we have off our own shores. By banning American exploration, this guarantees that Soros’ company, Petrobas, has a market for it’s oil, unaffected by the vast amounts of oil and natural gas reserves her.

If this isn’t corruption of the highest level, I’m not sure what is. In fact, with millions out of work, and nearly a trillion dollars a year sent overseas for oil, when we have plenty right here, this is more than just good old Chicago style corruption, this is bordering on treason.

There is absolutely no good reason for Obama to ban offshore drilling in America, other than to put more money in George Soros’ pocket, a pocket that already has $10 billion of your dollars in it.

With all of the unconstitutional activity Obama is pushing in regard to ObamaCare, and now this, isn’t it time we demand either his resignation, or impeachment?

Obama is demonstrably corrupt. We, the American people, should not have to wait for 2012 to be rid of him and his corrupt ways. It is time for this man, and the Chicago corruption he has visited on our nation, to go.

We won't be snookered again!

Has President Obama Seen Governor Palin's Light--or Does He Want to Snuff it Out?

By Adrienne Ross - www.motivationtruth.com

As the entire nation knows, Governor Palin has been a voice for energy independence for years. She has worked relentlessly to see a natural gas pipeline built that would flow resources from Alaska to the Lower 48.

After all of the governor's hard work and unprecedented success in moving forward in this effort that would not only provide jobs and boost the economy, but would aid in national security--freeing America to rely on the resources God has given us, rather than foreign regimes that don't like us--it seems President Obama has suddenly become interested in energy.

The president wants to take this effort to tap into Alaska's resources to the next level, making it a White House executive office matter.

According to Juneau Empire, Mark Begich, the Democrat senator from Alaska, has "nominated legislative aide Larry Persily for the Obama appointment as federal coordinator. Persily has support from Sen. Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, as well."

This begs the question: Has President Obama suddenly seen the light--or is he trying to snuff it out?

Writing for US4Palin, Gary reports:

At first glance, this looks good, right? Obama is finally realizing we need to develop our own resources, after loaning his buddy George Soros’ Brazilian oil company, Petrobas, ten billion dollars to drill offshore in Brazil. And maybe Obama is trying to steal Sarah Palin’s thunder here.

Unfortunately, I believe you’d be wrong, and I believe my colleague is, as well. I don’t think Obama is trying to steal credit for this deal, I think he is trying to kill it.

Frankly, when has Obama done anything to support energy development in America? On the contrary, Obama and his minions have openly worked to thwart any and all domestic development of natural resources.

So what’s the deal?

First of all, let’s face it, that’s how these Chicago thugs work, period. We see it every single day. They strong arm and attack their own people if the don’t tow the line. Ask New York Governor David Patterson how Obama’s gangster tactics work.

Let’s take a quick look at Larry Persily himself. Persily is a self described “blue-collar Chicago democrat.”

Please click here to read more of Gary's article and learn more about Persily and his connections.

Do you smell something fishy?

Gary is not the only one who has taken note of this interesting interest the President of the United States has suddenly developed. Conservatives4Palin has also covered the story.

Mel Bryant writes:

Almost one year ago, C4P predicted that the president would eventually attempt to take over, and take credit for, Governor Palin's work to get Alaska a natural gas pipeline.

[...]

After spending months attacking Palin and obstructing her legislative agenda, Persily got called up to the big leagues. Just like Kim Elton. Funny how that worked out.

Now the president's looking to increase the power of Persily's position.

[...]

It's not a surprise that Obama might want to take credit for Palin's gas pipeline. After all, as Palin has pointed out over and over, America needs a source of clean, reliable energy that comes from domestic sources, thereby increasing our national security. But AGIA needs the free market to work. Much as he may wish to claim credit, Alaska's gasline should not become an Obama public works project.

Bryant breaks down Persily's associations as well, also leaving one to ponder what is really going on? Read that article in its entirety here.

Smell anything yet? Apparently Denmark is not the only place where rotten things reek.

Sarah Palin Showing Barack Obama And The Democrats How It Is Done (Again)

Just a day after helping expose yet another scandal in the Obama administration, one where Obama’s Energy Department has been suppressing the people’s desire for more energy exploration in America, Sarah Palin announces the success of an oil exploration initiative she put in place.

As most know, some oil companies have leased land but are not exploring it, for any number of reasons. One of those leases was Point Thompson, held by Exxon-Mobil. After some 30 years of dithering, Exxon-Mobil has now drilled it’s first developmental well.

From Sarah:

Alaska Steps Forward Towards Energy Security

Congratulations are due Exxon and the State of Alaska’s Department of Natural Resources for completing the first development well at Point Thomson in northern Alaska. This is a huge field full of domestic crude, and it’s time to drill for it!

This week we’ve witnessed great progress toward more energy security for Alaska and our entire nation. What began as hefty trucks and hard working men and women heading up an ice road last year, to the commencement of drilling at Point Thomson, this progress has finally led to Exxon’s announcement today of completion of its first development well to produce oil and gas. Our "tough stance" with big oil and perseverance in insisting that Alaska’s resources be developed instead of warehoused while foreign countries are busy developing their oil and gas reserves has paid off to the benefit of everyone involved.

Drill here, drill now... energy independence is a national security issue that can’t be ignored any longer.

- Sarah Palin

Now this didn’t happen over night. It took a lot of hard work and a tough stance by then Governor Palin to force action at Point Thompson. Sarah played hardball with Exxon-Mobil. Threatened to take their lease and bid it to some other company.

When Sarah threatened to yank Exxon-Mobil’s Point Thompson lease, the world’s largest oil company threatened court action. Sarah laughed at them and told ‘em to go ahead, she knew the way to the courthouse too!

This folks, is how you get things done. Our current president doesn't get it. Energy independence and national security go hand and hand.

Sarah Palin gets it!

Sarah Palin Hammers Obama Over His Continued Lack Of Coherent Energy Policy

After slamming Barack Obama last year, in a Facebook note that was favorably quoted around the world, Sarah Palin is once again asking Barack Obama just what is he thinking.

While Obama has wasted an entire year pushing an unconstitutional government take over of health care, and globe trotting... chasing Olympic glory, Nobel Peace Prizes, all the while bowing to the world’s leaders and apologizing for America’s very existence, he is neglecting his job..

Obama also took time to try and garner support for the climate change crowd, further trying to promote the global warming fairy tale, the greatest lie ever told.

As we have written over and over, Obama and his cronies stand to make billions off of the global warming scam with a carbon credit trading scheme. And of course, Obama had also hoped to line the pockets of all of his corrupt Chicago buddies, by bringing the Olympics home.

Of course, while the most corrupt President in our nation’s history was trying to enrich his cronies, he was totally and completely ignoring his real job. First and foremost, Obama has totally failed on national security issues.

We’ve had no less than three major terrorist attacks on American soil since Obama took the reigns of Government. In a sane nation this man would have already been removed from office and replaced with someone who was competent.

The other important thing Obama has neglected while he has been more interested in enriching his buddies and feeding his massive ego, is the economy. To say we have a problem with the economy would be an understatement, for sure.

The biggest neglect though has been energy. Obama and his band of communists have no coherent energy policy whatsoever. Oh, they talk about mythical green jobs, but that’s all they are a myth. Pie in the sky.

Energy is the lifeblood of any economy. We can’t run without it. In our world, energy = oil. It’s a fact of life, and no amount of wishing that away is going to change things.

With that said, Sarah Palin again asks Obama just where his head is at:

Where’s the Oil in Our National Energy Policy?

America’s energy challenges are getting more and more serious every day, and yet the Obama administration just doesn’t get it. Please see this informative article that sheds light on one aspect of the president’s problem. It starts by explaining our energy demand will increase, and oil will be part of that demand.

Well, what do you know? The Obama administration, whose entire energy posture going back into the presidential campaign has been both ideologically and practically stridently anti-oil, both as an industry and as a form of energy, has suddenly become "concerned" about China’s oil grab.

This is, to say the least, disingenuous.

The U.S. government under Barack Obama has yet to acknowledge once, in spite of widely held estimates, that oil will continue to account for 40% of world energy demand 25 years from now — this while total world energy demand will increase by 50%, at least.

Read the rest here. I look forward to hopefully hearing President Obama acknowledge America’s need to ramp up domestic energy production, including oil and natural gas developments, during Wednesday’s State of the Union address. Let’s hope his advisers advise him accordingly.

- Sarah Palin

The report Sarah is talking about is from Investor’s Business Daily and is included below:

White House Needs New Look At Energy

By MICHAEL J. ECONOMIDES

It was a rubbing-the-eyes-in-disbelief headline even from an administration whose energy secretary, Steven Chu, suggested that America's energy dilemma could be solved by painting roofs white, and whose interior secretary, Ken Salazar, talked of garnering 3,000 megawatts of wind-power capacity off the East Coast. (The current total electricity capacity from all U.S. energy sources is about 1,000 megawatts.)

Under the title "U.S. raises concern over China oil policy," David Shear, deputy assistant secretary of state for East Asian and Pacific Affairs, told the House Armed Services Committee on Jan. 13:

"We are pursuing intensive dialogue with the Chinese on the subject of energy security, in which we have raised our concerns about Chinese efforts to lock up oil reserves with long-term contracts."

Shear was responding to Republican Rep. Roscoe Bartlett of Maryland, who said he was "worried that the Chinese were aggressively buying up oil all over the world and might not share it with other countries in the future."

Well, what do you know? The Obama administration, whose entire energy posture going back into the presidential campaign has been both ideologically and practically stridently anti-oil, both as an industry and as a form of energy, has suddenly become "concerned" about China's oil grab.

This is, to say the least, disingenuous.

The U.S. government under Barack Obama has yet to acknowledge once, in spite of widely held estimates, that oil will continue to account for 40% of world energy demand 25 years from now — this while total world energy demand will increase by 50%, at least.

Nor has the administration, mired in Kyoto and Copenhagen global climate rhetoric, acknowledged that fossil fuels, oil, gas and coal will still account by then for over 85% of world energy demand, a largely unchanged contribution from what it is today.

Instead there is constant rhetoric about solar (the president's favorite during the campaign), wind and "advanced biofuels" which, when combined, are not likely to account for more than 1% or 2% of the world energy demand over the next several decades.

In a Newsweek editorial last April 4, Chu expressed the administration's energy philosophy and policy: "We must move beyond oil because the science on global warming is clear and compelling: Greenhouse-gas emissions, primarily from fossil fuels, have started to change our climate. We have a responsibility to future generations to reduce those emissions to spare our planet the worst of the possible effects."

The Americans should not be surprised by the Chinese moves. A far more pragmatic nation, China is acutely aware that energy, in short domestic supply, will be the "choke point" in its future development unless resources are secured throughout the world.

That's why the very capable Chinese oil companies — CNPC, Sinopec and CNOOC — have fanned out in dozens of countries, making hundreds of billions of dollars of oil and gas investments, including in America's backyard, Argentina, Venezuela and Canada and a country America presumably dominates, Iraq. Their quest does not preclude unsavory countries such as Sudan or Iran.

The major Chinese oil companies have the full support of the Chinese government and, very importantly, they are admired and praised by the vast majority of Chinese people.

In discussions with Chinese intellectuals, government officials and company executives, the Chinese are often incredulous, all asking essentially the same question: Why is America letting us have a free and uncontested ride in all these energy ventures?

In contrast, American "Big Oil," (ExxonMobil, ConocoPhillips and Chevron — the only companies really able to play along and compete with the Chinese) not only are not supported or encouraged by the U.S. government, they've been routinely vilified by politicians. To the sizeable portion of the American public that's unaware of the role energy plays in the modern world, they are the devil incarnate.

What the world is witnessing is the largest peaceful transfer of power in history. Energy means power, and while the U.S. is consumed by environmental ideologies and climate rhetoric, it is committing economic hara-kiri in the process. China, riding on energy acquisitions with little competition, will propel itself into the economic stratosphere.

The U.S. should be concerned, but doing something about it will require an unlikely sea of cultural change in the Obama administration.

• Economides is a professor at the University of Houston and the author of "Energy: China's Choke Point."

This is quite outrageous, to say the least! This is a direct threat to America's national security. A threat just as sure as the one we face from al Qaeda or any other terror group. In fact, it's a quite larger threat, as this threat is being carried out, and there is absolutely nothing that can be done to stop it from happening.

Look, this is pretty simple. Anyone with a pulse understands that no matter what, we are going to need oil and natural gas into the foreseeable future. In fact, natural gas can be a true alternative to burning so much gasoline in automobiles and trucks. It’s a real clean and green fuel.

Energy independence is a national security issue. That should go without saying. Securing our energy supply, developing our own God given natural resources should be job one for any administration. Economic prosperity and national security go hand in hand when we talk energy.

We have more than enough oil and natural gas to be totally energy independent. In fact, we are the Saudi Arabia of natural gas. We have an estimated 200 plus years worth of coal reserves, and we haven't even started talking about nuclear energy.

What say you Mr Obama? Are going to finally quit pushing your radical Marxist agenda on a nation that has soundly rejected it and start doing your job, and put together a coherent energy policy? Or...are you going to continue to send this nation over a cliff and toward certain destruction?

It’s time to choose buddy...time to choose!

Sarah PalinTalks Common Sense On Energy, Meanwhile...Obama’s Radical Government Seeks To Criminalize Breathing

Sarah Palin is rightfully a happy woman tonight. Why? Because after all of her hard work as Governor, Alaskans, and really all Americans, are finally going to be able to access one of the richest oil and natural gas deposits in America.

We were looking for something from Sarah tonight, and this comes as a nice surprise:

Drill, Baby, Drill... Even Off-Shore

I commend Interior Secretary Salazar’s decision today to conditionally approve drilling at three exploratory wells in the Chukchi Sea off the northwest coast of Alaska; it’s a decision that’s been a long time coming. The area north of the Arctic Circle contains some of the world’s richest oil and gas reserves. U.S. Geological Survey researchers estimate that it contains 1.6 trillion cubic feet of natural gas and 83 billion barrels of undiscovered oil.

The international community recognizes the potential of Arctic off-shore drilling; it’s about time our government allowed us to compete with them by developing these rich reserves in an environmentally responsible way. As I said last April in my testimony before the Secretary during a federal hearing in Anchorage, "Alaska’s oil and gas resources can and should be a major part of the implementation of any creditable energy plan for our nation. Alaska has proven that these resources can be developed safely, but Arctic exploration and development is a slow, demanding process. Delays or major restrictions in accessing these resources for environmentally responsible development are not in the national interest or the interests of the State of Alaska."

As an Alaskan and an American, I am very grateful for the decision today because it is a step in the right direction toward prosperity for Alaska and energy independence and security for America.

- Sarah Palin

This is actually quite a development today considering that Obama’s hand appointed radicals over at the Environmental Protection Agency just declared the very air you breath "dangerous." Or more specifically, they declared the air you EXHALE dangerous.

We written for months about the radical crazies that have hijacked the so-called "green" movement. We’ve written how these communists are using the global warming hoax to gain unprecedented governmental powers and control over the population.

The communists intend to use the greatest lie ever told (global warming) as an excuse to re-distribute wealth on a global scale. Ahhh, the Marxist’s dream.

To the point: Today, for the first time in history, the radical, out of control, Environmental Protection Agency has declared a naturally occurring substance, in this case, carbon dioxide, a danger to human health.

Carbon dioxide has existed for billions of years. It is an essential element for all plant life to exist. For those who never actually went to school, which is evidently everyone at the EPA, most in Congress, and most certainly all of those in the White House: Humans need oxygen to breath, to live. In one of the neatest bits of our creator’s engineering, plant life, in turn, needs carbon dioxide to live.

Again, for those without the benefit of schooling: Humans, animals, and even fish, breath in oxygen, and exhale carbon dioxide. (CO2) But this is OK, because plants take in CO2 and through photosynthesis, "exhale" oxygen. This is one of the most ingenious set ups in all of nature.

This is why what the EPA has done is ludicrous to anyone with a lick of common sense. If CO2 was truly a bad thing, the solution would be as simple as planting more trees. Oh wait! We already do that!

From Yahoo News:

News:WASHINGTON – The Environmental Protection Agency took a major step Monday toward regulating greenhouses gases, concluding that climate changing pollution threatens the public health and the environment.

The announcement came as the Obama administration looked to boost its arguments at an international climate conference that the United States is aggressively taking actions to combat global warming, even though Congress has yet to act on climate legislation. The conference opened Monday in Copenhagen.

The EPA said that the scientific evidence surrounding climate change clearly shows that greenhouse gases "threaten the public health and welfare of the American people" and that the pollutants — mainly carbon dioxide from burning fossil fuels — should be regulated under the Clean Air Act.

"These long-overdue findings cement 2009's place in history as the year when the United States government began addressing the challenge of greenhouse-gas pollution," said EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson at news conference.

The action by the EPA, which has been anticipated for months, clearly was timed to add to the momentum toward some sort of agreement on climate change at the Copenhagen conference and try to push Congress to approve climate legislation.

"This is a clear message to Copenhagen of the Obama administration's commitments to address global climate change," said Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass., lead author of a climate bill before the Senate. "The message to Congress is crystal clear: get moving."

Under a Supreme Court ruling, the so-called endangerment finding is needed before the EPA can regulate carbon dioxide and five other greenhouse gases released from automobiles, power plants, and factories under the federal Clean Air Act.

The EPA signaled last April that it was inclined to view heat-trapping pollution as a threat to public health and welfare and began to take public comments under a formal rulemaking. The action marked a reversal from the Bush administration, which had refused before leaving office to issue the finding, despite a conclusion by EPA scientists that it was warranted.

Business groups have strongly argued against tackling global warming through the Clean Air Act, saying it is less flexible and more costly than the cap-and-trade bill being considered before Congress. On Monday, some of those groups questioned the timing of the EPA's announcement, calling it political.

"The implications of today's action by EPA are far-reaching...individual Americans and consumers and businesses alike will be dramatically affected by this decision," said Charles T. Drevna, the president of the National Petrochemical & Refiners Association. Drevna, in a statement, said "it is hardly the time to risk the remainder of the U.S. industrial sector in an attempt to achieve a short-term international public relations victory."

The EPA and the Obama administration threatened to do this when their cap-and-tax bill first began to stall out. The determination of CO2 as a pollutant — which is patently ridiculous on its face — allows the White House to bypass Congress and begin dictating to producers on carbon emissions reductions.

In other words, this is yet another end run around Congress by the most radical and corrupt President in our nation’s 233 year history. A total usurpation of our Constitution’s separation of powers. It violates the idea of checks and balances our founders built into government.

This little ruling by the EPA gives them virtually unlimited power to regulate, literally, every facet of your life.

By classifying CO2 and methane (among other so-called greenhouse gases) it can inject itself into just about every industry in the US.

Energy production will be its primary target, but the EPA has also gone after coal mining on the basis of the Clean Water Act. It will certainly not be shy about using this new authority to kill coal mining altogether.

Now don’t forget that coal is our most abundant form of energy in America! We have several hundred years worth at present rate of usage.

Also, don’t forget, that China uses a lot of coal fired plants to generate electricity, and they couldn’t care less about the quality of air in the world. They don’t have the environmental protection mandates we do. Never will.

This nonsense will also impact agriculture, especially dairies and cattle ranching, as well as transportation. The entire manufacturing sector will have to answer for its "carbon output."

To put it gently, cow farts are now considered hazardous, and if you eat at Taco Bell a lot.....

This sort of thing would be funny if these loons weren’t serious.

This really is the worst of all outcomes. The EPA process can be restrained by Congress, but it will take positive action for that to happen, and in most cases, would take capitulation from Barack Obama himself. Not likely from someone who thinks like this:

As you listen to this guy babble on, searching for whatever talking points his puppet master programed him with, remember this: This video was posted on You Tube on November 2, 2008. On that very day Sarah Palin demanded an explanation from the San Francisco Chronicle, who conducted this interview, as to why they had held this video from public view so long, especially since it was done in January of 2008!

The Chronicle, at the time, responded by noting that the video had been available on their website since January 17th of 2008. However, the Chronicle never reported on these quotes from Obama, and these statements certainly seem noteworthy enough to include in any look at Obama’s policies on energy.

Even more nefarious, is the fact they never provided a transcript of the interview, an almost automatic step for any meeting between national political candidates and the editors of a newspaper.

Why didn’t the Chronicle transcribe their meeting in the nine months between January and November?

Did they realize how damaging this could be to Obama’s hopes in the middle of the primaries and chose to quietly shelve the interview?

Not only does Obama talk about destroying the coal business, bankrupting it, he also shows an extraordinary amount of ignorance when it comes to nuclear power. This nimrod is supposed to be such a man of the world, an "intellectual heavyweight,"and yet he doesn’t understand that we have had a nuclear powered Navy for over a half century, well before he was born! Nor does he have the ability to comprehend that in France, 78 percent of it’s electricity is generated by nuclear powered plants. FRANCE!

You can read all about French nuclear power here.

In this clip from the same San Francisco Chronicle interview Obama arrogantly states, point blank, that under his plan electricity rates would "necessarily skyrocket."

Let’s see, unemployment is at a 25 year high, energy is already costing too much, and this radical communist and his out of control EPA are going to take steps that will not only make our energy prices "skyrocket" but also drive absolutely every single manufacturing job we have overseas.

This is so far past irresponsible, and even reckless, that someone smarter than I will have to create a new word. Although feckless and treasonous just seems to roll off my tongue.

If you deliberately set out to destroy a nation, collapse it’s economy, I don’t think you could do a better job than Obama and his thugs are doing right now. Throw in "health care" and you have a complete recipe for destruction! Every single thing these people are doing is counterintuitive for those seeking success.

I really don’t get it. Our founding fathers fought a Revolution over a whole lot less than this. What is it going to take for the American people to say enough, is enough?

I know we all sit back and say "2010" but with less than a year into his presidency, Obama has shown that he has the capacity, and desire to create a considerable amount of damage that will take us years, if not decades to recover from, if it’s possible at all.

Think about it. It took Reagan almost all of his 8 year tenure in office to see America recover from the disaster that was the Jimmy Carter presidency. Even then, some of Carter’s lasting legacies are still helping destroy America today. One only has to look to the Community Re-Investment Act, the Carter idea that led to our currently distressed economy, because of the sub-prime mortgage bubble. Of course, not learning their lesson, the democrat/communists are working to get back into the same shady business that has all but destroyed the real estate market and the banking industry nationwide. They are pathologically stupid.

Another lasting legacy from Carter is the Department of Education, that was created under his guidance. This little jewel should serve as a huge warning to all of those who tell you not to sweat it, they’ll just undo whatever dangerous, reckless, or treasonous legislation Obama and his corrupt Congress enact when they take back Congress in 2010. (the latest GOP nonsense)

When Ronald Reagan ran in 1980 against Carter, one of the issues he ran on was shutting down the brand new Department of Education. It never happened, and our kid’s education has been in steep decline ever since.

As Reagan himself was quoted saying: "The closest thing the world will ever experience to eternal life is a government program." What this means is if we don’t defeat all of this before it becomes law, we’re done.

About the only way Congress could stop the EPA’s effort to seize control of our lives, without Obama, would be to defund the agency, or at least its regulatory efforts. That certainly won’t happen with the current Congress. And again, 2010, and the mid-term elections, seem a lifetime away.

We live in dangerous times. Our nation, our way of life, is under assault by the most corrupt group of liars, cheats, thieves, and radical malcontents in our nation’s history.

What are you prepared to do?

Just as I was getting ready to publish this entry, I get an e-mail from a colleague. This sort of puts it all into focus, for those that still may not understand. You see, there is this huge "carbon credit" trading scheme out there, already in place. The idea being that "carbon credits" will be bought and sold like stocks on the various stock exchanges. Al Gore is involved in this kind of scheme, and stands to make billions if a cap and trade system passes.

The whole idea is this: Businesses will be arbitrarily assigned "carbon allotments" which amounts to the maximum amount of "pollution" (CO2) a business can emit. And these allotments will be assigned to pretty much every business there is. Now, if a business somehow is frugal with their mythical "pollution" (CO2) and doesn't use their credits, they can sell those credits to companies that are going well past their allowed amount of "destruction to the environment."

Now, let that soak in.

If these people really cared about the environment, really cared about global warming, they would just set up a standard, and fine businesses that failed to meet that standard. We already have some of that. But this cap and tax scheme has absolutely nothing to do with helping the environment, and everything to do with enriching a select few.

What got our attention though, is where this particular exchange, the CHICAGO Climate Exchange is located! Why is it all roads to evil lead to Chicago? The Chicago Climate Exchange is up and running already. There's an impressive list of members all chomping at the bit to start buying and selling carbon credits, for a profit. One has to wonder just what the exact number of Obama cronies is who are part of this racket.

This brings up another question that was discussed in follow up e-mails to this revelation. Where are the liberals? No, not the moonbat, hateful "progressives" but what we call the "classic liberals." The ones that, while being wrong on a lot of things, at least had some integrity about them. We know these people exist.

Just think of it this way. What if it was Haliburton, instead of the environmental loons and crooks, who was putting all of this together? Where would liberals be on this then? Also, isn't big business and capitalism supposed to be "evil" to the so-called "progressives?" Didn't Obama's buddy Bill Ayers make a name for himself by bemoaning capitalism and pushing communism? (and well, blowing stuff up, and killing cops...allegedly)

I mean the whole mantra from the left has been about going after "the man."

By the way, does anyone know what the first entity was that really pushed the idea of "carbon trading?"

Remember that little company called Enron?

That's right, one of the larger financial scandals in our nation's history, revolved around their trading schemes. Carbon trading was their next big scam coming down the pike before it was found out that everything they did at Enron was just smoke and mirrors, kinda like the Obama administration!

One could carry on about this for days and days, but the bottom line is this. Global warming, or as they now call it "climate change" (how ridiculous is THAT) is a hoax. It is indeed the greatest lie ever told. Yes, there are some true believers. Flat earthers who are easily manipulated. People who simply reject common sense for dogma. But for the most part, this hoax is about two things: Power and money. The power to control mass populations, something that is a congenital desire in the sociopaths who populate the democrat/communist party leadership. Money, well that's only for the select few who drink the Koolaide. Those who join the religion of the left. The rest of you are not important, except for generating tax revenue, so they can keep their phony-baloney positions intact.

I ask you again, what are you prepared to do?

One last thing, for those that are still skeptics of us "global warming skeptics" or as I like to call us, "people with the ability to think for ourselves", read this lengthy story from Time magazine, entitled The Cooling Of America, dated December 24, 1979. The hysteria de jour back then was the coming Ice Age, and the moonbat left was just as certain back then that we would all freeze to death if we didn't "do something" as the moonbats who preach the lie of global warming are now! This is a must read if you want to understand just how little science there is to "climate science." You can read the story here.

Oh, and by the way, I do believe in climate change. In Texas, this time of year, we see the climate change a lot. It can be 70 at mid day and in the 30's by nightfall. It can be 30 and snowing one day and 65 and sunny the next. It's called the weather, people!

Sarah Palin on Rusty Humphries Show

By Shane Vander Hart, Caffeinated Thoughts

Governor Sarah Palin was on the Rusty Humphries Show yesterday in between book signings.  This was a different interview, as he didn’t want to ask her the same questions that she had been asked numerous times already (listeners also submitted questions).  So they discussed ANWR, economy, illegal immigration, Climategate (which she did a Facebook post on yesterday), Obama’s birth certificate and past associations, and much more.

She received some criticism over her answer to Obama’s birth certificate, so she responded via Facebook:

Voters have every right to ask candidates for information if they so choose. I’ve pointed out that it was seemingly fair game during the 2008 election for many on the left to badger my doctor and lawyer for proof that Trig is in fact my child. Conspiracy-minded reporters and voters had a right to ask... which they have repeatedly. But at no point – not during the campaign, and not during recent interviews – have I asked the president to produce his birth certificate or suggested that he was not born in the United States.

HT: Josh Painter for the heads up on the interview.

Pigs Do Fly: Alaskan Democrats Defend Palin (Update: Oops)

By Shane Vander Hart, Caffeinated Thoughts

Pigs do fly.  Alaska Democrats & Obama supporters defend Palin on pipeline record that AP says was “flawed” when they were “fact checking” Going Rogue: An American Life (isn’t that opining anyway?  Is the AP supposed to do that?).  A snippet from the Juneau Empire, that I thought was especially telling:

The AP story quoted only two legislators, Senate President Lyda Green, R-Wasilla, and Sen. Bert Stedman, R-Sitka, both in the minority who voted against the TransCanada deal.

Juneau Rep. Beth Kerttula said AP reporter Burke talked with her, but didn’t include her defense of Palin.

"I don’t believe Gov. Palin should become vice president, but I don’t think this story was fair and accurate," she said. *snip*

The story said the oil companies were unhappy that Palin did not support their request for 45-year tax and royalty freezes but didn’t say that Palin and most legislators think that is not allowed under the Alaska Constitution. (emphasis mine, be sure to read the whole thing)

Instead of calling themselves the Associated Press, I think Another Prevarication would be better suited.  AP can now be filed under news you can not trust.  Putting another nail in mainstream journalism’s coffin.

From an updated post at Caffeinated Thoughts.

Update: I goofed, that story was from 2008.  Sorry!  Just a little detail.  I’ll leave my mistake, with this correction, up.  Unlike AP.

Sarah Palin To Joe Biden: Hey Pal, You’re The One With The Radical (Non) Energy Policy!

God bless Joe Biden, he truly is the gift that keeps on giving!

Chuck Graham, of course, is in a wheelchair!

Well, our Vice President has stepped in it again. Up in NY-23 today, while campaigning for democrat/communist candidate Bill Owens in front of a reportedly sparse crowd, Biden took a swing at Rush Limbaugh (naturally) and Sarah Palin He went at Sarah especially on energy:

"The fact of the matter is, Sarah Palin thinks the answer to energy is ‘drill, baby, drill,’" said Biden. "It’s a lot more complicated, Sarah!"

Wow, just wow. You have to wonder is Biden really this dumb? (I think we know the answer here) Or, does he think the typical democrat/communist voter is this dumb? (I think we know the answer to this as well, or Joe would still be a Senator!)

Now obviously, Sarah Palin, who was the Chairman of the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission, the very powerful regulatory body that regulates oil, natural gas, and mining in Alaska knows a thing or two about energy. For those that don’t know, as Governor, Sarah was also the Chairman of the Interstate Oil and Gas Compact Commission as well as the Natural Resources chair in the National Governors Association. Of all of the things Sarah Palin can talk about with great authority, energy is certainly at or very near the very top.

So with that in mind, Sarah has this for Joe Biden, via Facebook:

Response to Vice President Biden's Comments Today About My Position On Energy Independence

As the vice president knows, I have always advocated an all-of-the-above approach to American energy independence. Among other things, my alternative energy goal for Alaska sits at 50 percent because Alaska reached more than 20 percent during my term in office. The Obama-Biden administration, on the other hand, recently announced a renewable goal of only 25 percent. However, domestic drilling should remain a top priority in order to meet America’s consumption and security needs.

The vice president’s extreme opposition to domestic energy development goes all the way back to 1973 when he opposed the Alaska pipeline bill. As Ann Coulter pointed out, "Biden cast one of only five votes against the pipeline that has produced more than 15 billion barrels of oil, supplied nearly 20 percent of this nation’s oil, created tens of thousands of jobs, added hundreds of billions of dollars to the U.S. economy and reduced money transfers to the nation’s enemies by about the same amount."

This nonsensical opposition to American domestic energy development continues to this day. Apparently the Obama-Biden administration only approves of offshore drilling in Brazil, where it will provide security and jobs for Brazilians. This election is about American security and American jobs.

There’s one way to tell Vice President Biden that we’re tired of folks in Washington distorting our message and hampering our nation’s progress: Hoffman, Baby, Hoffman!

- Sarah Palin

Nice that Sarah got in the shot about Brazil!

As you know, just days after the self proclaimed "owner of the democrat party" Nazi collaborator, and criminal currency speculator, George Soros, bought controlling interest in Brazilian oil company Petrobas, Barack Obama "loaned" the oil giant $10 billion hard earned tax payer greenbacks!

When it comes to energy independence, Sarah Palin is very much someone who is an "all of the above approach" leader. Sarah has consistently advocated clean renewable energy, and put Alaska on a path to get 50 percent of it’s energy through renewables, exactly double the goal Barack Obama set for America as a whole!

Sarah is a big advocate of solar and wind, but understands we must also have nuclear as well as clean coal, natural gas, and yes, oil. No matter what "magic bullet" research may come up with, conventional sources of energy will be with us for generations to come.

Sarah Palin’s signature achievement as Governor of Alaska was AGIA which has led to the natural gas line that will be built from Alaska to the lower 48. Natural gas, quite simply, is the cleanest burning fuel there is. It’s not zero emissions, there is no such thing, but it’s clean enough that industries use CNG (compressed natural gas) powered machinery, such as fork lifts, indoors and in enclosed spaces, because of such low emissions.

This pipline, as it is being built, will be the largest construction project in North American history costing around $40 billion.

Contrast this with the real and true party of NO(!), the democrat/communist party of Joe Biden and Barack Obama. The democrat/communist party is against pretty much all forms of energy.

Oil and natural gas? Oh no, they’re "evil!"

Coal? Are you kidding? It’s the work of the Devil!

What about all of the "green energy" the party of NO(!) Is always carping about?

Nope, they don’t like it either! They have serious "not in my backyard syndrome." And, when that doesn’t work, they come up with some environmental concern. The windmills aren’t very friendly to birds when the fly into them, and the enviro-nuts are going insane over some desert rat in the Mojave now that giant solar farms are proposed.

In other words, the party of NO(!) Has absolutely no real solutions. I’m shocked! Energy is the lifeblood of our society, the lifeblood of our economy. The way the democrat/communists act, you’d think the democrat/communists were deliberately trying to destroy America.

For America to get back on the road to prosperity, we must have serious energy independence. We must "drill baby drill" for oil and natural gas, but we also must use our abundant supplies of coal, as well as build more nuclear plants and continue to develop alternatives. We send between $700 billion and $1 trillion a year overseas purchasing crude oil. Think of what that would do for our economy if that all stayed here in America!

This is yet another reason we need to follow Sarah Palin’s lead and help elect serious common sense Conservatives, like Doug Hoffman, nation wide! No more pale pastels, we need bold colors, and bold leaders!

BTW, as a bonus, who could forget this classic bit of "brilliance" from Joe Biden! I mean this sums up the guy’s intellect perfectly!

The video is long-ish, but worth it. You Tube has managed to scrub all of the others that just have the "best part."

As a set up, after Sarah mopped the floor with Biden at their debate, Perky Katie Couric did her part for the team by "helping" with damage control. It didn’t really help!

While riding on a train, Biden’s favorite form of transportation, Couric interviewed Biden at length. At one point, Biden gives us all a revised history lesson:

"When the stock market crashed, Franklin Roosevelt got on the television and didn't just talk about the princes of greed. He said, 'look, here's what happened."

One problem with "Uncle Joe’s" scenario here. When the stock market crashed in 1929, Herbert Hoover was President, having taken office in March of that year. (Inaugurals used to take place in March, rather than January) Franklin Roosevelt was still the Governor of New York, and didn’t take the Oath of Office, as President of the United States, until March of 1933.

Television, which was in it’s experimental infancy in 1929, was not around. The first commercial television license wasn’t granted until 1941, and it would be the 1950's before televisions became a popular "must have" appliance. FDR, however, was the first President to appear on TV. It was during an experiment in 1939, ten years after the stock market crash.

For her part, Couric just sits and smiles, never correcting Mr Gaffetastic. If only she would have had one of the guys that John McCain passed over as his running mate write this interview for her!

What’s that you say? You didn’t know? Remember the Sarah Palin interview the "Perky One" did? Well, she’s not much brighter than Biden, so she had help. Sam Nunn, who was passed over for Biden as Obama’s VP choice, coached Couric extensively before she interviewed Sarah. He came up with a series of "gotcha" questions for Katie to ask, including: "What newspapers do you read?"

Exit question, who do you really trust on energy, Joe Biden and the party of NO(!) Or Sarah Palin who has extensive energy industry experience?

The folks in Upstate New York may have the answer! As I linked to above, Biden spoke his nonsense to a "crowd" of 250 people, 50 of those being from the media. When Sarah was in Upstate New York earlier in the year, she drew 20,000.

Sarah Palin Takes on Joe Biden Over Energy Independence

Common sense at its best, right here. Common sense--and fearless.
