Sarah's Right; Let's Win It: A Post by Conservative Girl with a Voice

As we revved our engines up for the busy workweek today, I hope you returned back to work refreshed and relaxed from the Thanksgiving holiday. Thanksgiving is a great time to just sit back, reflect and give thanks for everything we hold dear as Americans. I am so thankful for the freedom I have as an American. I am so proud of our brave military men and women who risk their lives for each and every one of us day in and day out. As an American, I want my military men and women to be given the best. While I believe we should listen to General McChrystal and those in charge on ground, it seems our president is not ready to do so. President Obama is going to address this very issue of troop numbers tomorrow in an address to Americans.

General McChrystal has repeatedly said an additional 40,000 troops would be needed in order to succeed in Afghanistan, so why has it been so hard for our president to make what should be an easy, necessary decision? Send the troops, Mr. President. Yet, in an all-too-common occurrence with this administration, our president is once again back peddling. And now when he is finally ready to make a decision, he is going to compromise on the number of brave men and women to send to Afghanistan? Give me a break. This is not only outrageous, but deeply disturbing. We are not talking about compromising on the number of side dishes to prepare for Christmas dinner; instead, we are talking about the lives of our Military men and women. Obama is expected to announce, tomorrow, that 30,000 additional troops will go to Afghanistan. This is an important number because this number is 10,000 less than General Stanley McChrystal originally requested weeks ago (McChrystal requested 40,000). I am outraged that President Obama is choosing to compromise when we are talking about the lives of so many. While this is very upsetting, it is also unfortunate that Obama is not sending the entire 30,000 troops right away. Instead, he is expected to send 9,000 Marines to southern Afghanistan first with others to eventually follow. I fully agree with why senators like Jon Kyl of Arizona are so worried about this. According to Fox News:

"The speed of deployment worries Sen. Jon Kyl, R-Ariz., who said Sunday that a phased deployment will not force rapid change as the surge in Iraq did and will create more problems, as Vietnam demonstrated: "You need to put in everybody you can as quickly as you can and deliver a knockout punch to the enemy," Kyl told "Fox News Sunday."

Kyl is right in his assessment. The surge was successful, so why wouldn't we repeat this action again? Obama is playing with fire if he really thinks compromising will bring us victory in Afghanistan. I have to wonder if Obama knows the full implications of the decision he is about to make. I have to wonder if Obama really wants to win the war in Afghanistan. I never thought I would have these of fears, but I seem to have cause to be alarmed.

I know I am not alone in my reasoning, for I know many of you agree with me. Sarah Palin is also speaking out on President Obama's scheduled announcement regarding Afghanistan troop levels. As a former governor, Sarah knows what it's like to oversee our troops. While she was governor, she was the commander-in-chief of Alaska's National Guard. Sarah also knows firsthand what the families of our awesome men and women in uniform go through every time they have to say goodbye to a family member. As you all know, Sarah's oldest child, Track, serves in the Army. President Obama may be ready to compromise the lives of our brave men and women in an attempt to appease to his liberal base, which by the way, I guarantee would be upset if even one troop member was sent off to war, but Sarah knows better. She knows the generals on the ground know what's best. Why can't Obama listen to his generals and Sarah for once? Until our president and his administration begin to listen to those who know best, he is walking a very fine line. For goodness sake, this is an important decision that will either result in success or failure. Our troops deserve better. I stand with Sarah as she stands solidly beside our good men and women in uniform. Thank you, Sarah, for speaking out on this very important issue and always supporting our troops and putting them first, and thank you to our brave men and women in uniform for their tireless service to our country.

Sarah Palin: If We're In It, Lets Win It

As Thanksgiving festivities wind down we contemplate all we have to be thankful for as free Americans! We head into the Christmas season wishing for leadership in Washington that reflects our commitment to the values and ideals that have built the freest and most prosperous and generous nation on earth.

Heading into December and Tuesday's announcement of our nation's strategy in Afghanistan, I ask the President to reassure us that the administration is in this War on Terror to win.

And I'll pass along the following from Harold B. Estes, a 95-year-old member of the Greatest Generation: "I realize you never served in the military and never had to defend your country with your life, but you're the Commander-in-Chief now, son. Do your job. When your battle-hardened field General asks you for 40,000 more troops to complete the mission, give them to him. But if you're not in this fight to win, then get out."

Thank you, Mr. President. Please tell us on Tuesday that America is in it to win.

Sarah: Devoted Mother and Tireless Advocate- A Post by Conservative Girl with a Voice

Sarah and Todd Palin are phenomenal advocates and supporters of our troops, but you didn't need me to tell you that. This past Thursday, they attended a welcome home ceremony for the 1st Stryker Brigade from Fort Wainwright. This ceremony was particularly important to them because their eldest son, Track, is a member of this brigade. Not only were Todd and Sarah there to congratulate the other young men and women, but like other proud parents, they were there to show their support to their son who just recently returned from Iraq.






What I really admire about the entire Palin family is not only their devotion to one another, but their devotion to our troops. As the mother of a service member, Sarah personally knows the hardships and daily struggles endured by other family members whose fathers, mothers, wives, husbands, sons and daughters are sent to distant lands to protect our freedoms. As a young woman, whose
own cousin is in the Airforce, I truly admire the courage of all of our brave men and women in uniform. It is far too often that many forget the sacrifices these young men and women make for us. It is so important that we remember to not only support them, but to thank them as well. As I have stated in previous posts, just a simple hug or "thank you" mean so much.






I wanted to write this random thought post today to illustrate yet another example of Sarah the advocate. We know that she is an advocate for so many individuals. Not only is she an advocate for children with special needs and young women, but for our troops as well. It is easy for one to say they support the troops, but once again, Sarah not only talks the talk, but walks the walk. Although we can all agree that what Sarah does for our troops is a great thing, there are those hypocrites out there who will attack her for doing what is right. Oh well, you can't please them all, especially when those who speak out against you have enough problems and are not worth the time.






We know Sarah the mother, we know Sarah the tireless advocate for so many great causes. She is a woman who does not need a formal title because she is a mom and a wife. She is a daughter and a sister. She is a grandma and an aunt. These are the important titles- I would argue the MOST important. Sarah is proving that it does not matter who you are, for we can all make a difference. She is proving that social network sites like Facebook can be just as effective, or even more effective at spreading the message of common sense. Isn't this great to see? Sarah may be out of office for the moment, but she is definitely not going anywhere. I believe God has a purpose for everyone, and God has Sarah exactly where he wants her to be. Thank you, Sarah, for your tireless advocacy for us "Mainstreet U.S.A." folks. It is because of hard-working individuals like you that we are being heard.

Help Requested: "Operation Uplift" packages for our Military over in the box.

You know, I really don’t give two moose nuggets for Obama and the Nobel Peace Prize. Arafat, Gore, Carter…. These individuals who are not peace worthy all deserve each other and the Nobel Committee should hang their heads in shame for even bothering to try to put this reprehensible and repugnant individual on a pedestal. The Nobel Peace Prize is nothing and means nothing anymore.


I have more to worry about than an ignorant attempt at someone who has no concept of peace in this time. How about the low morale that our Marines and Troops are dealing with at the moment? Or the fact that Obama will not help OUR Military!

At this moment, I have had numerous emails coming in to ask to help. Help Sarah Palin, help our Troops and Marines. Just help out in general and since Track Palin had his mom, Sarah come to the ceremony to welcome his unit home from Iraq and the fact I have a friend who is back home due to a horrible family accident, yet is stationed in Afghanistan, I and a co-worker of mine have decided to give back.

With your help… and to make a statement to Obama, the administration and to all those who do not care about our Marines, Troops and those over in Iraq and Afghanistan who are doing what is told, even if they do not agree.

Let us shower them with packages and remind them they are not forgotten.

I have been adopting soldiers and marines for years. This is the best defense against those who are on the offense concerning Iraq and Afghanistan. Who can you trust? The soldiers and marines who are there or the administration and Obama who do nothing? I pick our military! You will NEVER feel bad about helping those who need a good laugh and a package of love.

Let us get out and send as many packages as possible. Our guys need some uplifting…. Not the news that an ingrate is receiving a Nobel prize for nothing.

Welcome Home Faithful and Humble Servant, Track: A Post by Conservative Girl with a Voice

What a big weekend Todd, Sarah, Bristol, Willow, Piper, Trig and Tripp have in front of them. In just about 24 hours, their dear family member will be returning home after serving in Iraq for the past year. What a big weekend for Track as well. This young man took the oath to serve our great country, risking his life just so we can be free. From the bottom of my heart, I want to thank Track and his unit for all they have done in their service to America. When I think about how brave young men and women like Track are, I cannot help but think of how much they give up in their call to duty. They leave their families and friends, go off to distant lands, while giving up many of the little daily things I take for granted. For all they sacrifice and give up in serving me and you, there is no way we could ever come close to re-paying them for all they have done.




Men and women like Track are the real heroes among us. They are the ones who have the sheer grit and determination. While I have always looked up to athletes who push it to the max, the real individuals who never give up, never quit and never back down are our soldiers. It is so important that we let them know how much their service means to us. Sometimes, something as small as a simple "thank you" means so much to our brave men and women. Whenever you see veterans or active duty service members, tell them thank you, shake their hands or even give them a hug. It's the least we can do for all they have done for us. It means a lot that these men and women are fighting for me without even personally knowing who I am. Our good servicemen and women deserve the best America has to offer!




The Palin family is, no doubt, anxious for Track's arrival. I bet Sarah will be preparing Track his favorite meal. Todd probably can't wait to go four-wheeling or fishing with his son. There is no doubt Bristol cannot wait for her little precious baby, Tripp, to get to know his uncle Track. Sweet Willow probably cannot wait to just sit down and hang out with her big bro, and little Piper and Trig are probably gearing up for the fun times they will spend with their big brother and hero. I can see it now: Piper dragging her big brother outside and having him help her sell some lemonade. Thank goodness, this time Piper won't have to worry about any grouchy neighbors like she did in Juneau. Remember that guy?




Yeah, I have to say, the Palins have quite a big weekend in store. It is my hope the media will give them the privacy to be a family. What a fantastic family! Todd and Sarah have done an amazing job in raising five terrific, strong-willed kids. Track is an excellent example of this. You and me call him an American hero, but to Todd and Sarah, he is their American hero son. What a day they will have when they are all reunited and together as a family once again.

Track Palin to Return Home This Weekend

According to Ralph Z. Hallow, a Washington Times reporter, Track Palin will be returning from his one-year tour of duty in Iraq this weekend. Meghan Stapleton, spokesperson, SarahPAC explained that Track's return home is why Governor Palin is foregoing a Voters Values Summit being held in Washington, DC (Hallow, 2009, ¶1-5).

Track Palin deployed on September 11, 2008 with the First Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry. The First Stryker Brigade are also known as the Arctic Wolves. Complete information on the Brigade is available here: First Stryker Brigade -- Arctic Wolves

Governor Palin interrupted her VP campaign and returned to Alaska so she could bid the Arctic Wolves farewell. Her son was among the soldiers who heard her address.
