Washington Speakers Bureau Confirmed

News reports that Governor Palin has retained the Washington Speakers Bureau exclusively to handle her commercial speaking ventures are correct and verified true (Speakers, 2009, ¶1).

Commentary

This is a significant accomplishment item for Governor Palin on many levels. First, no ordinary individual can sign up with a speaker's bureau. A speaker must have some cachet that will bring the bureau revenue. A person who earns a substantial honorarium must be an expert in oral communication. Despite claims by her enemies, Governor Palin is an expert speaker, and the Washington Speakers Bureau recognizes her expertise. Governor Palin has more than earned this honor.

Her association with this bureau also reflects Sarah Palin's recognition that the high volume of invitations she has received warrants a staff whose profession is speaking events management. The role of SarahPAC after all is to be a Political Action Committee. Involvement with all the details pertaining to even one invitation distracts from a PAC's core function. Retaining the Washington Speaker's Bureau was a wise decision.

Finally, the top flight speaking engagements Governor Palin will conduct via the Washington Speakers Bureau will give her more global experience. The forthcoming speech in Hong Kong is just one example of this and could be a defining moment in her career. As Gary P. Jackson spent considerable time in his entry, and as was documented soon after the inception of Accomplishments, Governor Palin already has significant foreign policy and foreign trade experience. Meetings with foreign dignitaries were routine for her. As previously documented, Alaska had $3.6 billion in exports and that was considered a "bad year." Anchorage is the midpoint on air routes to places such as Hong Kong, and Tokyo. This speaking engagement will give Governor Palin foreign trade experience -- from Hong Kong's perspective. She will gain first-hand knowledge of another culture, language and customs that simply does not come alive from binders and books. Each carefully chosen engagement in a foreign country will give her that country's perspective.

Hong Kong is especially fitting, for it is a Special Administrative Region in the People's Republic of China. Hong Kong works so well that Communist China left that city's capitalist system intact! This speaks volumes as to the stark difference between Governor Palin and the current tenant of the White House, who is an unabashed Marxist.

Each engagement is preparatory work for doing something she is used to doing, but on a much larger scale. A governor after all is essentially President, CEO, and Commander-in-Chief of a state. With her retention of the Washington Speakers Bureau and these speaking engagements, Governor Palin will be even more prepared to be President Palin.....

Wake Up, Senator Murkowski: A Post by Conservative Girl with a Voice

It is very apparent that Alaska Senator Lisa Murkowski is down-right jealous of Sarah Palin. What other republican politician draws standing-room-only crowds? What other republican politician has the gift to connect with members of any party? What other republican politician has polarized the nation and re-energized a party? Yeah, I'd have to say that Sarah Palin is a pretty hard act to follow. Money and power should not be criteria to becoming the senator of a state. In appointing his daughter to the senate in 2002, Former Governor Frank Murkowski basically was telling the good people of AK: "I don't think you all can make a good decision, so I'm going to make the decision for you." In appointing his daughter, voters were robbed of performing their civic duty to choose for themselves the senator whom would best represent them, but it is important to point out that she was elected two years later in 2004. I have a lot of negative feelings toward individuals who unfairly appoint others to political office and also for those who accept the apointment, but this is a story for another day. Recently, Murkowski did a good thing in holding a townhall (unlike Senator Mark Begich). Yet, it is some comments she made during this townhall that have my blood boiling. During this event she commented on the recent comments Sarah made regarding her belief that the health care bill includes "death panels" (see my post: "Sarah's Right, Again" for more on this). Here's a portion of what Senator Murkowski said:

"It does us no good to incite fear in people by saying that there's these end-of-life provisions, these death panels.... Quite honestly, I'm offended by that terminology because it absolutely isn't (in the bill). There's no reason to gin up fear in the American public by saying things that are not included in the bill."

Well, Senator Murkowski, the information isn't in the bill, anymore- thanks to Sarah (but remember, folks, it could always end up back in the bill)! I have to wonder if Senator Murkowski has even sat down and read the entire bill. Not only was this information, at one time, in the bill, but Sarah was clearly accurate in her descriptions of "death panels." Once again, we have an illustration of another republican who is jealous of Sarah Palin- jealous because so many Americans agree with her. Well respected people such as Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and Michael Savage, as well as countless others agree with her on this issue. Perhaps Senator Murkowski is forgetting that right after Sarah posted the following statement on her facebook account, the "death panel" language (provision 1233 of HR 3200) was immediately removed from the House version of the bill:

"The provision that President Obama refers to is Section 1233 of HR 3200, entitled 'Advance Care Planning Consultation.' With all due respect, it’s misleading for the President to describe this section as an entirely voluntary provision that simply increases the information offered to Medicare recipients. The issue is the context in which that information is provided and the coercive effect these consultations will have in that context. Section 1233 authorizes advanced care planning consultations for senior citizens on Medicare every five years, and more often 'if there is a significant change in the health condition of the individual ... or upon admission to a skilled nursing facility, a long-term care facility... or a hospice program.' During those consultations, practitioners must explain 'the continuum of end-of-life services and supports available, including palliative care and hospice,' and the government benefits available to pay for such services."

Well written, Sarah. If Sarah was so wrong in her findings, why did the house immediately remove this provision from the bill? Once again, people like Senator Murkowski prove just how out of touch they are with the American people. When are our those who have been elected to represent us going to actually start doing so? When are they going to start telling the truth? We could give Senator Murkowski the benefit of the doubt-maybe she didn't read this part of the bill, but that's kind of hard to believe since this topic has been analyzed on every channel and in every newspaper. After Senator Murkowski made this statement during the Townhall in Anchorage, Rush Limbaugh addressed her statements on his radio show. Like Sarah, he KNOWS that the "death panel" language was in the bill. Thank God for people like Rush Limbaugh who are not afraid to call people out when they are wrong in their assertions. Like Sarah, he is more aware of the legislation than those serving us in Washington.

Perhaps Senator Murkowski has lost her way and forgotten whom she was elected to serve? Has she forgotten that SarahPAC recently donated money to her re-election campaign? With the hostile way Senator Murkowski has treated Sarah over the course of their relationship, she should be thanking Sarah for all Sarah has done for her. It is one thing to call someone out if he/she is misrepresenting aspects of an issue, but it is totally uncalled for to accuse someone of using fear tactics when the person is absolutely correct in his/her assessment. Shame of Senator Murkowski for accusing Sarah of making things up. She could learn a thing or two from Sarah. Once again, this yet another example of turning a political issue into a personal issue. It is well-known that Murkowski and Palin are not the closest of friends, after all, Sarah beat Lisa's daddy in the last Gubernatorial election. So, whatever Sarah does is scrutinized by Senator Murkowski. Instead of being cordial for the good of the party, Senator Murkowski can't seem to get over the issues of the past.

Sarah has many on her side when it comes to the "death panel"debate. Just today, the New York State Senate announced that they would hold hearings on elderly care and "death panels," and they have invited Sarah to testify September 8th. New York State Senator Reverend Ruben Diaz, a conservative democrat, is heading the hearing. Sarah quoted Diaz in her facebook note about "death panels," and according to Diaz:

"Section 1233 of the House Resolution 3200 puts our senior citizens on a slippery slope and may diminish respect for the inherent dignity of each of their lives... It is egregious to consider that any senior citizen... should be placed in a situation where he or she would feel pressured to save the government money by dying a little sooner than he or she otherwise would, be required to be counseled about the supposed benefits of killing oneself, or be encouraged to sign any end of life directives that they would not otherwise sign."

So, let me get this straight, not only do conservatives agree with Sarah, but a democrat too? This just goes to show that this is a moral issue, not a political issue. Not only has Sarah been invited to speak, but a variety individuals, (including
Betsey McCaughey who is the former Lieutenant Governor of New York and head of the Committee to Reduce Infection Deaths) who specialize in elderly care will be there to testify as well. It is my hope that Sarah will testify at the hearing because when she speaks, people listen.

We are living is very scary time, and it is only a matter of time before the goverment takes full control over our lives. It is hard to name a single institution under government control that has succeeded free and clear of problems. It seems to me that the government screws up everything it touches, everything it controls. I sure as hell don't want them controlling my health care decisions. It is time for us all to stand up and speak out on this important issue! While I applaud Senator Murkowski for holding a townhall, it is unfortuate that she did not correctly inform her constituents on what is really going on with the health care bill in terms of the "death panels." This is why it's so important that WE educate ourselves! Go online and research the health care bill, contact the representatives and senators from your state, and just stay informed. Educating is the best way to really make a difference for ourselves and our children.

Information, Social Networking, and Sarah Palin

Did you ever see Gone with the Wind? Remember the scene where everyone gathers in Atlanta, waiting for the "death lists" to be handed out on slips of paper? I remember seeing this movie when I was younger and thinking to myself how hard it must have been for everyone involved - those waiting on the news and those anxious to get it out. Boy, "information dissemination" has come a long way since then, hasn't it? I call it that because you can't really call it news anymore. With most of the mainstream media in the "progressive pocket," i.e. the White House, it's hard to get away with calling it any more than opinion or commentary. With the advent of the Internet, information dissemination has gone from taking days to taking minutes, even seconds. I was commenting to my husband last night how much I loved Twitter. Almost instantly after hopping on and pulling up a few of my favorite hashtag streams, I can know exactly what the political pulse is and what the hot topics are.

My parents grew up in a generation where many accepted the printed word as fact. If it was in writing, it must be true. I remember an English teacher once telling me to be cautious of that. It was common for all of us to believe what we read as fact. The older I have gotten, the more I have come to realize this is definitely not true. I think the nation is finally waking up and coming to this realization as well. Print is not dead, but it takes on different forms. Print in the Internet and on social networking sites is now much more alive than the paper of days gone by.

Why do I bring this up? Facebook, Twitter, and other social networking sites have enabled us to instantly gather the information we need to make informed decisions. With bloggers (myself included) in the mix, we have fact as well as commentary at our fingertips. Sarah Palin gets it. She knows that one of the best ways to reach "the people," the real people, is to use the site they use to reach each other - Facebook. Once she was freed of her constraints as governor, she began using Facebook as a medium for passing on her thoughts, ideas, and fact-based informational writings. Others are trying to emulate this, but they just don't get it - part of the reason this works is because it's Sarah Palin, and not them, putting the information out.

Last night while watching Glenn Beck, I saw a clip of a left-winger talking about using Facebook as a way to get his message out. Gee, I wonder where they got that idea? I love how they talk about Sarah Palin without really talking about Sarah Palin. Part of the reason Facebook works for her is because the people who embrace her are ordinary folk who see her as just like them - ordinary folk. They trust her. They believe her. It is only those who are jaded by the political rhetoric and those who have been involved in politics too long that have a hard time even listening to what she has to say. To them she is just noise. To those of us in the know, she is the conservative oasis in our nation's liberal desert.

Sarah Palin is a ground breaker, a "think outside the box" kind of person, and continues to refuse to be cast out of the same mold as all the other politicians. She will continue to do things her own way and Facebook and other social networking sites will continue to work for her and serve her well. Maybe this is the "Hope and Change" we all need. My "hope" is that more will come to embrace Sarah because she is the "Change" we all need right now.

Confirmed: Sarah Palin To Be Keynote Speaker At CLSA Investor's Forum In Hong Kong

Yes, I know, I am a tad late, but, as is policy, we don’t talk about Sarah Palin’s schedule unless Sarah or her spokeswoman, Meg Stapleton, has verified that Sarah is indeed going somewhere.

There are just too many flaky promoters using Sarah’s name to sell tickets, without a verification from Sarah, who then try to blame her when she doesn’t show at an event she had never committed to in the first place. So we are not going to help them with that scam.

As we reported earlier, Sarah has almost 1100 invitations to speak at events, both paid and unpaid. Her attorney, Robert Bennett, announced this week that she is almost finished writing her book, so is now accepting invitations. Sarah will speak to various groups on a variety of issues that matter to America, and the world.

Sarah will also be speaking on behalf conservative candidates that share her vision for America, as well as for various charities, like those who support special needs children, and the military and their families.

Sarah will be speaking in Hong Kong at the CLSA Investor’s Forum, an annual conference of global investment managers. Previous speakers at the event include President Bill Clinton, Alan Greenspan, and Al Gore. The forum is sponsored by the CLSA Asia-Pacific Markets.

Their company spokeswoman Simone Wheeler said in a statement:

"Our keynote speakers are notable luminaries who often address topics that go beyond traditional finance such as geopolitics,".

"We just felt it would be a fabulous opportunity for CLSA clients to hear from Mrs. Palin," Wheeler said, adding that CLSA approached Sarah with the offer.

Those who follow Sarah Palin know she has a lot of foreign trade experience to draw from. Obviously, Palin worked close with the Canadian government to put together her signature achievement, the natural gas pipeline, but she has had many dealings with nations throughout the South Pacific as well as Russia and Canada.

Back in January of this year, as part of the big kick off to Alaska’s 50th birthday celebration, Sarah hosted a large contingent of dignitaries including Sergey Kislyak, the newly appointed Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the United States, who was making his first visit to Alaska.

Ambassador Kislyak proclaimed:

"I am so pleased to be here this weekend. As discussed in my meeting with Governor Palin, it is encouraging to note the similarities between Alaska and the Russian Far East. Our existing commercial connections and the mutually beneficial nature of our professional partnerships can only help provide a measure of stability as, together, we face the global economic challenges that lie ahead."

Others attending the event were Yuri Gerasin, Consul General of the Russian Federation; Julian Evans, British Consul General; John Mataira, Consul General of New Zealand; Balazs Bokor, Consul General of Hungary; Sten Arne Rosnes, Consul General of Norway; Haryong Lee, Consul General of Korea; Fred Santos, Consul of The Philippines; Mel Knight, Alberta's Minister of Energy; Marvin Schneider, Alberta's Executive Director of the U.S. and Americas; and Haijun Wang, Deputy Director General of the Foreign Affairs Office of China's Heilongjiang Province. Mr. Wang is leading a four-person delegation from Heilongjiang Province, a sister province to Alaska, and China's northernmost region.

Members of the Alaska consular corps also participating in the weekend events were: Karen Matthias, of Canada; Hideo Fujita, of Japan; Hee-chul Kim, of South Korea; and Jose Luis Cuevas, of Mexico. They will be joined by honorary consuls of the Czech Republic, Poland, Finland, Seychelles, and Norway.

Obviously, we are happy to see that Sarah is starting to accept speaking engagements. This is a very great way for her to get her message out to the world, make a lot of new friends, and build relationships.

It’s a good to remember that many leaders do this. Former Vice President Richard Nixon, after losing to John Kennedy in 1960, went on the speaking circuit and used that to propel him into the White House, and the great Ronald Reagan was a prolific speaker taking many engagements both before he became Governor of California as well as afterward. This helped Reagan become President of the United States, as well.

Below is the press release from the CLSA:

Hong Kong, 31 August 2009 - CLSA Asia-Pacific Markets, Asia's leading independent brokerage and investment group, will host the former Governor of Alaska and Republican vice-presidential candidate, Sarah Palin, in her first international speaking engagement outside North America.

Palin will address CLSA clients and delegates in a keynote speech at the 16th CLSA Investors’ Forum to be held in Hong Kong from 21-25 September. Palin joins a list of noted global leaders including Bill Clinton, Al Gore and Alan Greenspan who have chosen the CLSA Investors’ Forum as their platform of choice to reach global institutional fund managers and CEO’s of Asia’s leading listed corporations.

CLSA Chairman and CEO Jonathan Slone said: "As the first female governor of Alaska and the youngest person ever elected governor of that state, Palin has broken new ground in US politics and we are delighted that she will make her first visit to Asia to present at the CLSA Investors’ Forum."

"CLSA consistently sets the benchmark for original and thought-provoking content, and aims to present global political and industry leaders whose policies and platforms have influenced global markets."

Joining Palin, are more than 40 keynote and specialist speakers including Niall Ferguson, Harvard professor and author of the bestseller The Ascent of Money; Robert Fisk, Middle east correspondent for The Independent and one of the few Western journalists to have interviewed Osama bin Laden; Sir Ken Robinson author of The Element: How finding your passion changes everything; Satyajit Das author of Traders, Guns and Money; David Roche, economic and political analyst; and Marc Faber, investment contrarian and author of Tomorrow’s Gold.

Now in its 16th year, the CLSA Investors’ Forum is Asia’s premier investment conference providing unrivalled corporate access to 1300 global fund managers from 32 countries, representing more than US$10trillion in funds under management. Over five days, they meet with more than 400 CEOs and CIOs of Asia’s leading listed corporations in 2500 group and private meetings. Simultaneously, a seven-track schedule offers over 200 keynote, specialist, CLSA analyst and corporate presentations.

The CLSA Investors’ Forum is CLSA’s annual flagship event and one of six held throughout the year. Participation is by invitation only.

Sarah Palin’s Incredible Star Power Stronger Than Ever

Sarah Palin’s status as a superstar is undeniable. She is incredibly popular nationwide. According to the latest report from Mike Allen, over at Politico, Sarah Has almost 1100 invitations to speak at events nationwide.

This week Sarah will begin accepting invitations to those speaking engagements.

As we all know, unscrupulous promoters have been inviting Sarah to events for months, and advertising this, boosting ticket sales, without having any commitment from Sarah whatsoever.

As an old drag racing promoter, I know if we pulled stunts like this, the fans (and the racers themselves) would’ve skinned us alive! Evidently though, this sort of thing is common in the political world.

What is aggravating though, is the fact that these promoters get all kinds of publicity, because of Sarah Palin, and even though they never had any commitment from the Arctic Fox, their ticket sales soar, and when Sarah doesn’t show up they try and blame it on her.

Our policy is to never even talk about speaking gigs unless Sarah herself, or her spokeswoman Meg Stapleton issues a press release about it.

OK, enough of that!

Basically, if Sarah herself doesn’t promote it, it probably isn’t true, and ain’t happening!

Sarah has over 950 offers for paid speaking engagements, many of them are six figure deals. And over 120 politicians have asked her to come and speak on their behalf. I’m sure they all understand the incredible effect she had on Senator Saxby Chambliss’ re-election bid, which went from a dead heat race before Palin came to visit, and turned into a 16 point blowout after Sarah spent one single day addressing huge crowds on his behalf.

Sarah had offers from twenty speaker’s bureaus to represent her and chose the Washington’s Speakers Bureau. This is the group that represents a variety of folks from George and Laura Bush to Bob Woodward and Katie Couric to Alan Greenspan, Colin Powell and Rudy Giuliani.

Sarah will be doing both paid speaking engagements as well as unpaid speeches to political and charitable organizations, including groups that support families with special needs children and those who support the military and their families.

I must stress that Sarah has made no commitments whatsoever to any speaking engagements. My best advice to folks who hear that she is speaking somewhere, is to check out her Facebook page. Sarah uses Facebook extensively to communicate with the nation.

It’s also said that Sarah is about 85 percent finished with her book that will be published by HarperCollins and available in the spring of 2010.

Sarah’s lawyer, Robert Bennett, has also compiled a workbook about an inch and a half thick filled with offers for TV and radio shows, and other interesting business opportunities. Sarah will begin going through this, as well.

Sarah Palin has some serious jazz. Since she has been so busy behind the scenes, she has taken to using her Facebook page as a highly effective communications tool. We all know what she was able to do by typing two short paragraphs a few weeks ago!

The growth of supporters on her page has been nothing short of phenomenal.

As I write this Sarah has almost 850,000 people listed as friends on her page. And thousands are joining daily. To put this into perspective, here is what the numbers on Facebook look like for those who as touted as other important Republican politicians:

Mike Huckabee 106,636

Mitt Romney 69,332

Bobby Jindal 67,773

Tim Pawlenty 6,735

>Jeb Bush 2,670

In the last few weeks Sarah has had more new supporters join her, than all of the above, combined, have supporters on their pages.

Sarah is the one Republican who has really mastered using the internet to gain an audience. And what she says gets results. As we have already mentioned, she totally changed the debate on national health care when she spoke of death panels. And when Barack Obama and the state run media attacked her, she calmly retorted with tons of information about those involved with Obama, like Dr Death, Dr Ezekiel Emanuel, and others who would indeed create death panels.

She also encouraged millions to actually read H.R. 3200, the House bill that most represents Obamacare, a 1017 page monstrosity that amounts to the total usurpation of the United States Constitution. And folks have indeed read this bill by the millions. America is not pleased by what they read!

We’ve written a bit about Glenn Beck’s efforts to expose Obama and all of the illegal and unconstitutional Czars Obama has appointed to powerful posts. Sarah noted this as well, and on Wednesday of last week asked all of her Facebook friends to join her in watching Glenn Beck’s Fox News program.

The result? Beck’s show gained over one million new viewers over the previous day, making it the number one news show on cable, beating out ratings giant Bill O’Reilly. And those viewers stayed with Beck throughout the rest of the week.

With the power Sarah Palin has just by posting short notes on Facebook, one can only imagine the effect she will have on the national debate once she hits the road and starts really speaking out against Obama and his tyrannical government!

By God, I almost feel sorry for Obama and his democrat/communist party!

Palinistas Take Manhattan

By Adrienne Ross from www.motivationtruth.com

On Saturday, many people were writing about Governor Palin's introduction to the nation. Bloggers--myself included--were recording what they remember about that day or their favorite Palin moment since that day. Here in New York, we wanted to do that, but we wanted to do more. We created an opportunity to get together with other Palinistas to connect, strategize, and, of course, give in to the nostalgia.

New York City was the location. It was too far for some in our New York network to travel, so we had a small group--four of us. I drove the five hours round trip, and it was well worth it. Though small in number, this was a strong and diverse group, capable of great achievements in the pro-Sarah, pro-America, pro-conservative movement. In attendance were Pamela Geller (Atlas Shrugs), Raj Rajagopalan, Ron Devito, and yours truly.

You know Pamela from the prestigious blog, Atlas Shrugs. She is a powerful writer, public speaker, and activist who believes deeply in what she writes and speaks about. She is fired up and passionate about America and wants to see us progress in the right direction.

Raj Rajagopalan, of Associated Content, is the New York City local organizer for the 2012 Draft Sarah Committee. He demonstrates bold support of Governor Palin in a very liberal state. He speaks out without fear--sometimes using words; other times using clothing. (You'll see what I mean at the end!)

Ron Devito is another loyal Palin activist and blogger. He is the editor/publisher of Alaska Governor Sarah Palin's Accomplishments, for which I also write. He oversees several contributors to his blog that is committed to publishing the accomplishments of Governor Palin--accomplishments that are ignored or watered down by the mainstream media.

As the four of us talked in the restaurant, we noticed other diners paying attention to our conversation. As you know, New York is not the most conservative of places, so that's to be expected, I suppose. Raj's T-shirt didn't help matters either!

After our meal, we went to an apartment where we watched last year's Dayton, Ohio speech that Palin made after John McCain introduced her to the nation. One would have thought it was a year earlier and we were in the crowd in Ohio, for we, too, sat on the edge of our seats and clapped our hands while watching the year-old video.

Before we ended our time together, we discussed alternate avenues to get our message out. Here's some breaking news for you: we cannot rely on the mainstream media! Therefore, it is of the utmost importance that we create our own media. With some tips from Pamela, I am now hoping to expand my influence and continue to get the truth out there in varied ways. Some might say, "Why? Palin is no longer the governor of Alaska or the vice presidential candidate." True. However, she is not fading into the distance. She continues to be a voice, and that voice continues to get distorted by an agenda-laden media. So the question is: what do we do about it?

That's where people like us come in. When necessary, we must be committed to going around the CNN's and MSNBC's of this world, the Katie Courics and Charlie Gibsons, and using other tools: written blogs, video blogs, online newsletters, and social networking sites. This is grassroots at its best.

As my readers know, I am the New York State Organizer and Media Director/Spokesperson for the 2012 Draft Sarah Committee. My prediction is we will see Governor Palin become President Palin in the next presidential election. However, whatever road she decides to travel, it will take people like us--people like you--to help her navigate safely, for we know the Left will continue to throw every rock at her that they can manage to pick up from the side of the road. This is why it's important that we get together with others who are like-minded, those who are committed to truth and have an aversion for smears and destructive tactics. The time is now. This is the time to be--not just Pro-Sarah-- but pro-active.

Next 3 pics show Raj, Pamela Geller (Atlas Shrugs), Ron Devito, and me at NYC restaurant

Here I am holding a McCain-Palin T-shirt from Mocha Moose in Wasilla, AK

Now you see it...Now you don't! Raj and I make "McCain" disappear from T-shirt

In case you can't see it, what's printed underneath Palin's pic on Raj's T-shirt is the phrase,"Go get the socialist!" Needless to say, he got stared down on the train and in the restaurant!

Sarah's Turn: A Post by Conservative Girl with a Voice

It's over- my summer vacation, that is, but wow, what a summer! It is always fun to spend the summer at a place I have come to every summer since I was one. As my regular readers know, I'm talking about my family's cabin near Lake Tahoe in the Sierras, which has been in my family for nearly three decades. As an outdoor's girl, I love to hike, fish, sail, swim, and spend some time soaking up the sun and the clean, fresh mountain pine air. One of the best things about being up in the mountains is the feeling of being away from it all and just reflecting on life and everything I have learned and discovered. This summer, one of my favorite things that I really loved doing was packing my beach bag full of all the necessities like sparkling water, a towel, my ipod, and my trusty blackberry and heading down to the sandy shore of the lake. I'd walk down to the water's edge and just sit down and write-yes write. One of the things I'm going to miss the most about the cabin is the beautiful surroundings I was able to enjoy while writing each entry. How many other bloggers can say they blogged while soaking their feet in crystal clear lake water with a bald eagle circling the bright, blue sky above? The glorious beauty surrounding me inspired me to write, what I believe, to be my most honest, personal pieces yet. In a way, it was comforting to know that the peaceful lake was at my feet. The peace and serenity can be so enjoyable at times. God is so good!!! While I am a very social person and love my family and friends, I prefer to just have quiet around me as I write. I know I am not alone. Not only do many of you probably prefer to write in a peaceful surrounding, but Sarah does too. Just recently, Sarah's dad, Chuck, said Sarah is in a secluded place (he doesn't even know the location) working on her book. Like many of you, I am eager to read it, and no doubt it will be absolutely amazing. In her 45 years, Sarah has already lived quite a life full of wonderful and unique experiences. As we all know, her life dramatically changed within this past year. At this time last year, she had just gone from being a little-known governor to VP nominee, while balancing work, raising a family, preparing to become grandmother and sending her eldest child off to war- what a year. I'd say Sarah Palin had an unforgettable year.

At this time last year, many of us, including myself, were just getting to know this amazing woman. Now that we have gotten to know her, we await her book. Guess what, folks? It's HER TURN!!! Like you, I'm sick and tired of the media's distorted slime journalism. For far too many months, we have had to hear one false story after another. At one point, I was this close to throwing a high-heel at the TV, but decided my shoes, not to mention my TV were far too expensive, to waste on the biased media, so I just resorted to telling off my television. Sarah is finally going to be able to set the record straight about what her life has really been like! No more so-called Trig-truthers, campaign staffers and press to delude and use anonymous sources. Sarah is the source, the TRUE source. In typical Sarah fashion, I KNOW we'll get the straight talk, and I'm predicting her book will quickly become a New York Times Best Seller!!!

It is Sarah's turn to fight all the lies and smears that have been thrown her way. She will finally be able to set the record straight. It is sad what our media have become, and I say this as someone who studied jouralism in college and worked in a newsroom. (See my post entitled "Slime Journalism" for more on this topic.) I have a feeling Sarah, a former journalist, will devote part of her book to the sad state of today's media. This past presidential election changed the objective media we once knew. Instead of reporting the facts, they resorted to yellow journalism, the kind of stuff that you used to only read in tabloids like "The National Enquirer." This is why Sarah's story will be a breath of fresh air that is so needed to cleanse this polluted, political air.

So, while you may be missing your daily "Sarah fix," remember that Sarah is working hard on her own masterpiece. If it's quiet and seclusion that she needs and desires in order to write, let's give it to her. This is a woman who has so much to offer our great country. Not only has she restored my faith that America WILL one day be that shining beacon of light once again, but that her voice is the voice of reason, her message is the true message of change. So write on, Sarah, write on!!!
